I read a post the other day where the author complained that it took her 4 days to decorate!!!!
I laughed!!!
HYSTERICALLY!!!!!
People often ask me how long it takes for me to decorate my entire house.....
Now I have to say that I not only pack up all my normal everyday things but I also clean them so that I will not have to do it when I unpack them to put them back out.
I also give each room a good cleaning so that all I do is dust with Swifter dusters for the rest of the Holiday Season.....
Well, here is the breakdown:
Upstairs Hallway: 1 day
Upstairs Bathroom: 1 day
Master Bedroom: 1-2 days
Sitting Room: 2-3 days
Craft Room: 2 -3 days
Front of the House: 2-3 days
Living Room: 4 days
Dining Room: 2-3 days
Kitchen: 2 days
Powder Room: 1-2 days
Den: 2-3 days
Doll House: 1 day
So it takes me roughly 25 days!!!!!
I start the upstairs in September right after I finish decorating the downstairs for Fall and Halloween and I am finished with the upstairs by the end of October.....
I start taking down Fall and Halloween on November 1st and start decorating for Christmas as soon as Fall and Halloween are all packed up!!
Keep in mind that I still work........3 days one week and 4 days the other week.......7 days in a 2 week pay period!!!!
We will start the Tour outside of our townhouse........
This is the view from our 2 parking spaces in front of our house.....
You have to walk up 13 steps to get to the sidewalk that runs in front of our row of 10 townhouses.....
When you get to the top of the steps, this is what you see.......
Our front porch......
I am pretty much going to let the pictures do the talking in this post except for counting the decorated Christmas Trees........

You've captured Christmas in every corner of your house! Your guests must revel in the spirit. I've sent your post to my mother-in-law who shares your decorating gene (she's got 33 trees).

Hello Debbie. I loved looking at all your Christmas posts. Looked forward to them. You really and truly are a Christmas girl! WOW WOW WOW Of course, I LOVED the dollhouse post. You know how much I LOVE dollhouses. (Check my post on my two dollhouses now being displayed.) Debbie, I wish you the very happiest of new years! May it be a good and healthy one for all of us. Susan
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a lot of work! But it all looks so lovely and festive. My favorite is the Sitting Room, how it's decorated.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the Christmas tour and so much to see and take in. Beautiful!

Hi Debbie, Thank you for sharing all your trees and all the other neat Christmas things you have. My top was 24 in an old 150 year old home I own from 1997 to 2013. Had to give it up due to husband starting to have health issues. I, too, worked at a hospital for 20 years but not as a nurse. First, as an aid in Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy and than as a secretary to Director of Rehab and last a secretary to a Hand Surgeon. Learned a lot and enjoyed the time. My mom was an LPN. Love your dollhouse too. That has been a dream of mine but didn't pursue it instead did other crafts. We downsized to a 5 room condo with no basement or garage. After having an attic, two story home with basement and garage with storage above it, I had to get rid of a lot of things. LOL But in my old house, half of the storage was Christmas. I started early too because I enjoy my stuff being up early so I could enjoy it through the entire season. Thanks again for sharing. Accidentally found your blog but will be back to see your other holidays. Happy New Year to you and your hubby.
ReplyDeleteConnie,
