I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

~ Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

WELCOME TO MY CHRISTMAS BLOG!!

WELCOME TO MY CHRISTMAS BLOG!!

Christmas is my favorite Holiday and my favorite time of year!

I go all out decorating our small townhouse for all Holidays but especially Christmas!

Every room in our home has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20 in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same spot every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but it is like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas.......

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas traditions and I will not change them until I can no longer decorate like I do......

This blog is dedicated to All Things Christmas!!

A Bit of a Thomas Kinkade Christmas in the Den, 2020

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

Today, I am going to share how I decorated the Den for Christmas using the Thomas Kinkade items that are in this room year round and by adding all my Thomas Kinkade Christmas items to it........

I originally hoped to share the Front Porch and Yard but I am still waiting for a little bit more snow to fall to take some pictures because everything looks better with snow, don't you think???

We did have a dusting the other day so I ran out at 7 am before the Timer shut my lights off to take a few pictures....

We may be getting a few inches of snow over the weekend so I will hold off posting the Front Porch until next week.....

I decided to change a few things up a bit this year in the Den.....

I also was able to add another Tree in this room and decided to decorate it with all of my Thomas Kinkade ornaments.....

Well, one thing lead to another and that is why I decided I would expand upon this theme for Christmas....

I am going to be sharing this room in 2 posts.....

In this post, I will be sharing all the vignettes in this room......

In my next post, I will be sharing 2 Trees and the china cupboard in this room........

It took me 4 days to clean and decorate the Den and it was the first room that I decorated downstairs this year and not the last one as in past years.....

I did it the last week of October as I do not decorate this room for Fall or Halloween and that allowed me to "play" a bit more than I usually do in this room.....

I will start to the left when you walk into the room from the Kitchen.....

The Den was originally the patio and this area was once part of a larger storage room.....

I bought this mail box at Michael's a few years back....

On the door of what is left of the storage room.....

A wreath that I made......

On the pantry closet door, is a Cynthia Hart calendar........

This is the area of the Den where I sit and watch TV when Joe is watching hockey or football.....

I changed things up a bit in this area for Christmas.....

The color theme for this room is blue, burgundy and ivory....

For years, I was saving Christmas cards that I liked with the intention of "doing something with them"....

These pictures on the walls are of Thomas Kinkade scenes .....

I went through my Collection of Thomas Kinkade Christmas cards and simply taped the ones that fit perfectly over the original scenes to the glass.....

I decided to use these 2 Santa's, that I had used in the Living Room in previous years, here on the shelves above the TV......

I made the swag hung above the picture in the middle......

I looked to see if I had a picture from a calendar to fit over the large picture but I did not......

On the shelf are Victorian Sleders from Hallmark that were gifted to me.....

The other Santa......

In the corner.......

The electrical box.....

A small wreath that I made......

I hung these 2 Victorian styled plates on the wall this year......

On the sides of the TV.......

The end table in the corner......

Greenery in a burgundy tin pocket.......

A woodland looking Santa and a tree that I made out of wooden ice cream spoons......

A snow man that matches the Santa under glass in a cloche.....

 Above my chair.....

Instead of using the plates that I hung on the wall on this shelf like I did in past years, I decided to stick with the Santa theme and placed 2 Santa's on this shelf above my chair.....

On this shelf is a "Twas the Night Before Christmas" display.....

" Not a Creature was stirring, not even a Mouse"

On the chair......

The back door........

This tin pocket hanging on the door was used outside on the front porch but this year, I decided to bring it indoors and made a new floral arrangement for the inside of it......

On the side of the door.....

A Thomas Kinkade 4 Season clock......

Again, I taped a Thomas Kinkade Christmas card to the back of an Americana wooden block....

Another block and a Thomas Kinkade Angel......

This is the 4 1/2 foot table top Tree that is the main Tree in this room.....

I will be sharing more of this Tree in my next post as I did decorate it a bit differently this year.....

A Charles Dicken's Christmas Carol display on the shelves between the windows.....

"I will honor Christmas in my heart and try to keep it all year"

My sons loved A Christmas Carol because of the ghosts in the story!!!

These figurines from the story were bought in Boscov's about 30 years ago.......

Both my sons each have a set of the figures as it is one of their favorite Christmas stories!!

In the corner is my computer armoire....

This year, I set up a Thomas Kinkade Village of sorts on top of the armoire......

A Thomas Kinkade jar candle lid on the left and ornament on the right.......

The Lenox votive was a gift.....

I bought this handsome deer this year in Gabes.......

A Thomas Kinkade Collector's house.....

The Thomas Kinkade church placed on top of a drum was offered by FTD Florists......

Bought the angel a few years ago ( she lights up but is on a timer) in Boscov's.....

A Thomas Kinkade ornament.......

I just bought this moose in Gabes.....

I actually thought it was a reindeer and realized that it was not when I took a closer look at it when I  came home!!!

The burgundy feather tree was bought a long time ago in Target......

Another Thomas Kinkade house from FTD Florists......

And this Thomas Kinkade clock graces this area year round.....

I change the Thomas Kinkade picture ( calendar pictures) in this frame through out the year and in the past, I hung this in the downstairs hall........

On the side of the computer armoire is a smoking stand that has a large ash tray on top of it......

Now of course I do not use it as a smoking stand nor ash tray......

This year, I moved this white Victorian styled feather Tree here from where I had previously had it by the china cupboard in past years.....

I placed it in a vintage red transferware soup tureen.......

It is topped with a vintage Tree topper from my childhood.....

I used this topper on the Tree I had as a child in my bedroom, on the Tree I had in my dorm room in Nursing School and on the Tree in our Master Bedroom when we first got married and later on the Tree that I put up in this Den when the boys were young that sat on a platform and had a train set.....

This feather Tree is decorated with ornaments bought a long time ago at Michael's......

They portray children from the 1940's and 1950's......

On the shelves ..........

A cloche bought at Target........

Santa bottles that I embellished.......

Nelson Crest, my Victorian doll house, sits on a round table in the corner.....

I will be sharing the inside and outside of Nelson Crest decorated for Christmas in another post.....

I also taped Thomas Kinkade Christmas cards to this picture in the corner.....

This is where my original Kitchen window once was.........

This is the back ........

Of this Tree in the Kitchen......

I leave this Believe sign up year round.....

And this is where I will leave off for this post......

In my next post, I will be sharing the China Cupboard and how I decorated the top of it and around it.....

And this new to this room Tree decorated in all Thomas Kinakde ornaments.....

Along with a closer look at this Tree in the Den.......
