Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!
I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!
The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....
I post 3 TIMES A WEEK on MONDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAYS.....

Most will share something to do with Christmas on Rudolph Day....
Yes, I am celebrating Christmas in July with a Rudolph Day post!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
For the New Year, I am trying something different with my 3 times weekly posts....
On THURSDAYS,
I will feature what I cooked and ate during the week, showcasing local
cuisine and a few recipes for things that I actually made...
I decided that on SATURDAYS, I will showcase What I Have Been Up To in the past week, sharing events and places I went to, if any....
It's Saturday so what have I been up to and where have I gone???
Well, I haven't really gone anywhere this week and as far as what I have been up to, I have packed up all my Patriotic decor in the Living Room and Dining Room and I have finished decorating the Living Room in my Coastal "Under the Sea" theme....
I have been watching a bunch of You Tube decorating videos on Coastal decor looking for ideas on how to change things up a bit...
One of my favorites came from Sandi over at Little House on Matairie...
I will be doing posts on my coastal decor this coming week.....
Can you believe the "Ber" months are only about a month away???
I am so ready for them as I am so tired of sweating and swelling...
Because of my auto immune issues, my eye lids, ankles, hands and fingers swell in the Summer , causing joint pain that I never have in the Fall and Winter....
And I have not gotten to spend a lot of time enjoying my front porch and back patio because of rain, heat and humidity and Canadian smoke!!
Bummer!!
For
many years, almost 20, I have had this faux topiary style tree, that I
bought after Christmas one year in Target, in the corner of my front porch....
2 years ago, I bought a new 6 ft. pencil thin Tree for my Dining Room
It was the perfect fit in this corner of the Dining Room.....
But that left me with this 7 ft. slim Tree that I previously used in the Dining Room.....
Last Christmas, I decided to repurpose it.....
It came in 2 parts so I put the top part into the metal tree stand that it came with....
And put it out on the front porch for Christmas/Winter...
When Spring came, I got rid of the old topiary Tree that I had in the corner, replacing it with the top half of the 7 ft. slim Tree....
And yes, it lights up at night as it is on a timer with the rest of my outside lighting.....
I even decorated it for the Patriotic Summer Holidays....
For
the Winter, I put the bottom part in a large pot I had and I have
decided to keep it there, saving me money and time in taking care of any
flowers planted inside of this pot....
How it looked when I first planted my flower pots...
At the beginning of 2022, my late husband Joe bought a 6 ft. flocked Tree in Big Lot's on Clearance....
It was originally $115
Marked down 90% and with an additional 20 % off coupon, it came down to $8.97!!!!
Which was just fine with me as I prefer LED warm white lights on my Trees so I ripped off all the lights...
And added my own....
How it looked without lights.....
And then with all the lights that I added on .....
For the last 4 years, it graced the corner of my Sitting Room, decorated with most of my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments.....
This year, it is my Intention to not have to haul any large or heavy items back and forth from my storage shed that I rent....
Because of the 13 steps up to the sidewalk that runs in front of my row of townhouses from our parking lot....
I originally thought of just leaving it up year round and decorating it for the Summer like I do with so many of my Trees.....
But then I thought about what I did with the other Tree so when I took all the ornaments from Christmas off it, I decided to take it apart to see what the 2 parts looked like.....
Like the other Tree, I placed the top half into the metal stand that it came with and Lo and Behold, I now had a 4ft. table top flocked Tree!!
I had to take all the lights off when I disconnectrd the 2 halves so I then put some of the lights back on it....
I was thrilled that now I can use this "new" Tree as a table top one and will be setting it up on this table in the corner of my Sitting Room.....

I am still not sure what I will be doing with the bottom half of the Tree as it is not like the other one.....
I need to see if I can have someone try to get the branches off the pole as I tried to pull that pin holding them in place to no avail.....
It is one of those hinged Trees and the branches are attached to the pole, not just placed inside of the pole....
I really would like to use the flocked branches to add to wreaths or floral arrangements so we will see...
For 2 years now, I was able to store the 6 ft. pencil thin Tree from the Dining Room in the Sitting Room closet.....
After purging and passing on a few things from this closet, I was able to make room not only for the Dining Room Tree but also for my "new" Tree for the Sitting Room.....
I placed it in a garbage bag and then put it in a box.........
It fit perfectly in this corner of the closet.....
And the Dining Room Tree is in this corner of the Closet....
In a future post, I will be sharing how I reorganized this closet and now store all my Seasonl Throws, curtains and drapery in it...
When it came time to pack away the Christmas/Winter decor from the Front Porch, I thought about where else I could store my childhood sled......
And this heavy snowman....
So what did I end up doing with my childhood sled and snowman?????
I cleaned out my garden shed in the corner of my back yard and was able to store the sled in there....
I placed it inside the garden shed with the front against the back of the shed which gave me more room....
I was able to put a bucket that holds my Patriotic flags and yard stakes in front of it...
And when I went through everything in my Storage Room inside the house and decided what I was keeping and what I was passing on, I decided to store the Snow Man in there....
I
now store it under the shelf where my Living Room air conditioner is stored for the Fall/Winter...
When the air conditioner comes out of the window at the end of September, I will move the snow man out and just keep it in the storage room until I decorate the front porch for Christmas right after Halloween....
One storage idea I had this Spring was what to do with the evergreen garland that graces my front door and porch railing for Christmas and all Winter....
I decided to just keep it up!!
2 years ago, I decided to put up the garland right after Labor Day to use it as a base for my Falloween leaf garland....
This saved me a lot of time putting it up after Halloween when it is colder and I am decorating the porch for Christmas/Winter...
Thinking about the fact that I already use evergreen garlands year round as a base on the TV entertainment Center in the Living Room and above the counter bar in the Kitchen so why could I not do the same thing outside on the porch???
I liked the lights around the front door so last year, I bought a eucalyptus garland to put around the front door for the Spring and Summer. and added lights to it...
I bought more this year.....
And simply left the evergreen garland up and attached the eucalyptus garland to it....
How it looked for Easter....
For the Patriotic Summer Holidays....
And for my Summer Front Porch decor.....
I did the same with the ever green garlands on the railing, adding different ivy garland to it....
At Easter....
For the Summer....
After Labor Day, I will simply take the Summer garlands off and add my Falloween leaf garland to it and when Halloween is over, I will take off the leaf garland and fluff up the evergreen garland for Christmas and Winter....
It is now basically stored in plain sight year round......
I hope I gave you some storage ideas and maybe inspired you to hang on to your old artificial Trees and repurpose them instead of just throwing them out and adding to all the senseless waste in our garbage dumps...
This year, my Intention is to try to use what I have, shop my own home and not to buy anything unless it really strikes my fancy and I am happy to say that i have been doing pretty good with that....
Happy Christmas in July!!
Have you seen all the Summerween merch out there in the stores???
