I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Blue Christmas Woodland Powder Room, Christmas Home Tour, 2024

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I post 3 TIMES A WEEK on MONDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAYS.....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

So far, here is the breakdown of how long it is taking for me to decorate my townhouse both inside and out for Christmas 2024

Front Porch and Yard - 3 days

Dining Room - 4 days

Powder Room - 2 days

I am currently working packing up Fall and cleaning the Living Room, which usually takes me 6 days to get it decorated for Christmas.....

I know I had mentioned I would be sharing the Dining Room buffet and the rest of the Dining Room but I have to wait to decorate the buffet until I get the Sam's Club sets out from under the steps which I will not be doing until I get out the Living Room ones....

I am going to store the Dining Room ones back up in the attic again after this year....

So since I did finish the Powder Room on Tuesday, I am going to be sharing that room today.....

Nothing much is new in this room from last year ...

I did want to share how, by simply changing the colors of your decorations in a room, you can change the entire look of a room, which is why about 15 years ago, I decided to paint this room gray....

Yes, that was before gray became a staple in the Farmhouse decor inspired by Joanna Gaines....

Which is finally disappearing as it has run it's course.....

This is the Powder Room how it normally looks......'

Decorated in pink, white and black....

 And then for Halloween.....

For Christmas and then for the remainder of the Winter, until the beginning of March, it becomes a Winter Wonderland in the color theme of blue, silver and white.....

We will start at the door.....

I hang wreaths that I made on every inside door in my townhouse.....

The wreaths always reflect the color theme of the room as this one does....

And a stocking that I embellished.....

 Above the door way......

To the left when you enter the room.....

Without the light bar above the medicine cabinet turned on....

The silver mercury glass tree is one of a set of 4 that were bought many years ago at Sam's Club.....

Over 30 years ago, I started buying Enesco's Snow Buddies to decorate this Powder Room......

This picture is from Home and Garden Party.....

The plate was $1 at Salvation Army....

On top of the medicine cabinet.....

Snow Buddies, silver bottle brush trees and a silver putz house.....

On the sink.....

On the side of the medicine cabinet....

I change out the pictures in these silver frames with Christmas Cards.....

I bought all the wicker shelves for this bathroom at yard sales and flea markets many years ago and spray painted them black.....

This one hangs on the wall above the commode....

I always decorated this shelf in honor of Joe's love for Pittsburgh and Wilkes Barre Scranton's Penguin's Hockey...

Now this year, I decorated it in memory of his love for Penguin's hockey....

I bought the white and silver penguins at Big Lot's last year....

The Snow Buddies with the hockey sticks says "Penguin Hockey"....

The blue towels here, and by the sink, have a church on them....

Another silver mercury glass tree on top of the commode with 2 Dollar Tree silver acorns......

A friend and crafter I know made the snow man mats for me....

Yes, I have a Tree in the Powder Room.....

I have set up this Tree here for many years and I wire it to the tole tray behind it and to the estagere itself so it does not fall over.....

I did add a bow and an owl ornament to the chandy above the Tree....

I have 2 sets of lights on the Tree.......

A set of white and blue icicles and a set of warm white snowflakes......

The Tree is mainly decorated with Snow Buddy ornaments......

Along with silver ball and bird ornaments.....

I tuck pieces of Buffalo snow into the Tree to fill it in....

And blue berry picks....

With the blue and white icicle lights off....

This Tree was wider but a few years ago, I simply trimmed a few of the lower branches, using wire cutters, to make the Tree "slimmer".....

 A village under the Tree....

And another one of the shelf below it.....

On a small 3 tiered shelf.....

On the top of it.....

Middle shelf....

A vintage milk glass bowl of ornaments on the bottom shelf....

Another wicker shelf .......

To the left side of it.....

One of a set of 2 silver mercury owls that I bought a few years ago at J.C. Penney's.....

A wrought iron scroll sconce......

On top of this shelf unit.....

A Winter Slate, 2 more silver mercury glass trees and more Snow Buddies.......

The 2 Snow Buddies are in memory of my childhood when I always went sleigh riding on the hill right outside of my house along with building snow men in my yard......

I used these white doilies to mimic snow......

Top shelf......

My Mother had a ringer washing machine when I was a child and would fill buckets of water to empty it and toss them out of the basement window so the Snow Buddy on the far left memorializes my Mom....

And the "Tea Party" Snow Buddy is for my love of hosting tea parties, which I was really into when I bought it....

The Snow Buddy that says "Charge" is for all the shopping trips that Joe and I went on....

And the one of the far right with the tool belt is for my Dad , who was a carpenter and built the 2 homes that I lived in as a child....

The bottom shelf.....

The Snow Buddy on the far left says "Remodeling" and of course that one is in honor of me doing that all the time!!

The middle one says " Shop til You Drop", another homage of our love of shopping.....

And the Snow Buddy on the far right says " Oops" as I always have said that I have fallen in all the best places!!!!

On the right side of the shelf......

Another silver mercury glass owl......

And above the closet that houses my washer and dryer......

And that is what my downstairs Powder Room looks like this year....

Most of these decorations will stay up for the rest of the Winter and I will add a few Valentine's things to it after Christmas.....

See what I mean about how you can change the whole look of a room by simple changing the colors of your decor????

I mentioned in a previous post that I am a "Sentimental" Decorator and when I am in this room, I am comforted by all the memories of my family that it invokes....

In my next post on SATURDAY, I hope to finish up the Tour of my Dining Room, decorated in a Pink Victorian theme.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY!!

  1. I like the gray! Personally I don't usually follow tends and often use colors and prints from decades ago! What a great idea to swap out Christmas cards for photos in frames!
