I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas Upstairs....Bedroom, Christmas Home Tour, 2024

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I post 3 TIMES A WEEK on MONDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAYS.....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I shared how the upstairs hallway and bathroom are decorated this year...

And a simple everyday Christmas tablescape.....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

It was a great afternoon on Sunday as the Community Group at my church, Saint Maria Goretti , partnered with the Town Recreation Board for the Annual Santa Party for the children of the parish and community...

Santa was escorted via fire trucks through out all the streets in Laflin and then brought to the parish center for the party...

After a successful dismount from the fire truck, he came into the Parish center where he was able to sit here and visit with all the children.....

The first ones though to pose for a picture with Santa was all the members of the Fire Department!!!

Each child received a gift.....

The tables were all set with red and green tablecloths....

There was an activity table set up for the children....

Reindeer feed for the children to take home for Christmas Eve....

Coloring sheets and snow man ornaments to craft.....

Homemade Mac N Cheese....

Chicken Nuggets....

Cookies along with juice and water were served....

A DJ provided the entertainment which included the Bunny Hop, the Hokey Pokey and the limbo stick!!

It was a wonderfully fun afternoon spent with friends...

I was gifted this beautiful ornament from Father Alex, our parish priest....

He gifted them to all the parishioners who volunteered at parish activities throughout the yard.....

 What a thoughtful gesture!!

Today, I am sharing how my Bedroom is decorated for Christmas ...

Truth be told, I did make a lot of changes in this room but those that are unseen like moving all my clothes into the 2 closets and reorganizing all the drawers to accommodate all of my clothes....

Most of my clothes were in the other 2 rooms as Joe had the main closet to himself in this room...

Again, any Christmas decorations that I had up from last year, also stayed up in this room because with Joe's illness and passing.

I just could not find the time to take them down and pack them away and I was not going up into the attic in the Summer....

I decorate the doors of each room with a wreath I made that coordinates with the colors of that room....

The colors of my Bedroom are blue, pink and gold....

A Santa head in the center....

A gold velvet stocking that I embellished hangs from the wreath....

I do not do a lot of Christmas decorating in this room nor do I change the bed linens to Christmas ones.....

I feel that I do enough decorating in all the other rooms of the house...

But I always had a Tree in this room ever since we were first married....

In recent years, I did 2 Trees....

One for me and one for Joe....

My Tree......

This is my Victorian Lady Tree.....

Which is decorated in the color theme of blue and pink....

I did hang a few ornaments from the vintage Mother's plate...

Notice the Home Interior's figurines on the shelf which are Mother's holding their sons...

I topped the white 4 1/2 ft. Tree with a bow I made from pink and blue ribbon.....

I tucked 2 white feathers into the top of the Tree, imitating the feathers on a Victorian Lady's hat....

This Tree has mostly Victorian style ornaments on it in the form of purses, hats, shoes, dress forms, hand mirrors, etc....

Some pictures without the lights on.....

I tucked blue roses into the Tree....

The Tree is on a table that I bought at a flea market and painted blue as I had intentions of painting my Mother's vintage Waterfall Bedroom set blue and Ivory....

But since it is going to eventually be passed on to my great niece Caitlin, I am keeping it as is at her request.....

I decorated the table like I did the Tree....

 With gloves.....shoes....

 Perfume bottles.....

A purse.....

 And hankies....

 Something new this year.....

Since I was not using this pink house downstairs in the Dining Room as I did in previous years, I decided to set up a bit of a Christmas scene on the top of my Mother's Lane, cedar lined, Hope Chest....

I brought in my Rose B. tea pot, sugar and creamer from the upstairs Sitting Room.....

The pink and the blue is perfect in this room and I wonder why I did not realize that before.....

The blue acrylic snowflakes are from Dollar Tree.....

And the set of 4 larger blue snowflakes were bought in Big Lot's.....

I bought the wooden tiered tray in Target many years ago.....

Underneath the tiered tray.....

The blue reindeer is part of a set of 4 ornaments also bought at Big Lots.....

I pulled the sweet figurine out of the Craft Room.....

I placed a Christmas house lace doily on the sterling silver tray.....

Along with the pink house that I used previously in the Dining Room.....

The blue nutcrackers came from Dollar General this year for $1 each....

And I pulled the cute blue angel out of the downstairs Powder Room....

I brought in a lighted branch tree and a white lantern over on this side.....

I placed a deer that I had always used in the Den on top of the lantern.....

More figurines that I took out of the Craft Room.....

I placed another blue reindeer inside the lantern.....

I am really happy with how this area turned out....

Especially since I spent very little money on it, using a lot of the things that I had in the house already....

I also decided to change out the lace topper on this table by the bed.....

For a Christmas one......

Back in the Summer, I bought these candles......

They are remote controlled....

I then bought these in Dollar Tree.....

I bought them to transform the chandy above my bed from this, with just plain blue candles........

To this.....

And here it is with the lights and the candles lit....

 I love it!!!

I also wanted to share Joe's dresser.....

Several years ago, I decorated the top of the dresser Joe used for his clothes as a Victorian Gentlemen would.....

For now, I left it as is and added a few things.....

You can see that I also have not touched all his Pittsburgh memorabilia in this room.....

I added a few pictures of my grand daughters........

The twins wearing the Penguins outfits he gifted them but never got to see them in....

The candle is the one I received at the Memorial All Soul's Mass for those in my Parish that passed away in the last year....

Truth be told, I did not have the heart to take down all of Joe's Pittsburgh Sports memorabilia that he so proudly displayed here in the bedroom....

He was so happy when I decided to paint the bedroom gold as it is one of Pittsburgh sports team's colors.....

I also reorganized the desk to my liking, going through all the papers stored in it...

I thank God that Joe was organized when it came to things like that....

I always decorated a Tree for me and one for Joe at Christmas....

Joe's Pittsburgh Corner is pretty much the same as it was last year....

Whether I will take all of this down or leave it up remains to be seen and I am not worried about it...

 Joe's Pittsburgh Tree....

Click HERE to see my bedroom and Joe's Pittsburgh Corner decorated for Christmas last year as it is pretty much the same this year....
