I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Victorian Christmas Doll House, Nelson Crest, Christmas Home Tour, 2024

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I post 3 TIMES A WEEK on MONDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAYS.....

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In my last post, I finished up the Tour of my Den with the china cupboard and 2 more Trees....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

We celebrated my youngest son Jim's 41st birthday on Tuesday......

His Birthday was the 7th but both Jim and his wife Danielle work every weekend so they can be off together every Tuesday and Wednesday....

We did our traditional Pizza Party!!

Jim picked where he wanted pizza from and what type of pizza that he wanted....

Waiting for the pizza to be delivered from Dino's ( local) in the Mall right by our house....

I was thrilled to see the Twins wearing outfits that I gifted them for Easter this year....

Jim chose a large Chicken Bacon Chipotle Ranch Pizza and we added another plain pizza and a small cheese steak stromboli....

Jim blowing out the candles on his cake....

Danielle and Lily....

Lily.....

 Mimi and Gigi.....

 Gigi......

Uncle Joey and Gigi....

Mimi and Lily.....

Mimi with Lily on the left and Gigi on the right......

We had a wonderful evening that warmed this Mimi's heart......

I was going to move the Tour upstairs but I decided to stay downstairs in the Den for this post and share Nelson Crest, my Victorian Doll House, today......

Nelson Crest is all decked out in her Christmas finery.....

Both inside.......

And out......

We will start with the outside....

The left side yard.....

I hung wreaths, that I embellished with stars last year, on all the windows...

The balcony outside of the Master Bedroom.....

Yes, in Victorian times, it was still called a Master Bedroom, not a primary bedroom....

Stars on the wreaths and a large star above the door on the balcony....

Roy Nelson....

At the age of 87, having been newly diagnosed with lung cancer, he built my doll house for me...

To honor him, the heart is engraved with "Created by Roy Nelson 2008"

And the family that lives there are the Nelson's with Roy being the Father, Victoria, the Mother and their daughter is Rose....

Roy was a former patient of mine, belonged to the same church we belonged to and lived down the road from us in the apartment complex that both my sons now live in.....

He built over 30 doll houses and only excepted the cost of supplies and the kit as payment...

I had a friend of mine at the local newspaper do a Human Interest story on him and how he built over 30 Doll Houses!!....

Roy passed away the following year at the age of 88 years old....

I am forever grateful to this man for making a little girl's childhood dream come true at the age of 50 years old!!!

Back to the balcony....

The front yard....

On the left side of the yard....

A sled filled with presents in honor of my Dad who made several Christmas decorations in the early 50's....

This is the house that he built after returning home from WWII with the decorations outside of it....

See the Santa head also hanging on the house above????

I also hung a Santa head from the balcony of the doll house....

This was the house, that my Dad built when I was 4 years old, that I grew up in......

And these are the decorations that my Dad made outside of my townhouse about 40+ years ago....

I passed them on to my nephew Dan, who reinforced them with plywood and also displayed them in front of his house....

The white trees on the side of the porch are from Dollar Tree and change colors when lit.....

What fun!!

And there is that Santa head again!!

A large Nutcracker is on the front porch.....

On this side of the front yard, I have a snowman......

Again, honoring my Dad who also made a snowman decoration for the outside....

It is sitting on a sled, just like the one that I had as a kid and went sleigh riding on right outside of my house as I lived on a hill that seemed to never be plowed!!!

My childhood sled has graced my front porch for the last 46 years.....

 The side yard...

So that is the outside of Nelson Crest all decked out for Christmas....

Now let's take a look at the inside....

We will start in the Dining Room.....

The fire place and the Tree.....

The table is set for a Christmas party....

A Nativity set on top of the hutch......

Just like in my Dining Room.....

A Tea Cart ready to serve afternoon Tea....

 The Parlor......

Mr. Nelson just came home from work and is relaxing with the evening newspaper, after taking his shoes off......

Rose had been playing in the Parlor and left a few toys out....

Yes, it was called the Parlor in Victorian times and I even remember my Mother calling our Living Room the Parlor...

The Tree, which lights up, and the fire place.....

Rose's Bedroom......

Since I am a Mom of 2 sons, I chose to do a girl's bedroom in the doll house......

It is done in purple, which was the color of my childhood bedroom.....

Rose finished wrapping a few presents for family members....

Of course, she has a Tree in her bedroom, just like I did and like both of my sons did when they were children.....

I named the Nelson's daughter, Rose, as Joe's Maternal grandmother 's name was Rose....

Ironically, one of my twin Granddaughters is named Liliana Rose....

The Master Bedroom.....

This bedroom is decorated in blue and pink, which like my bedroom....

A Tree that I made for this room.....

The Lady of the house, Victoria, is resting, having a cup of Tea, after wrapping a few presents....

The Bathroom.....

Now of course, there is a Tree in here, just like there is in both my bathrooms....

The Music Room......

 Another Tree....

 Rose takes music lessons....

Now as I have said many times before....

This is my Dream House .....

And there is no Kitchen in it!!!

That is because I truly hate to cook and bake and would prefer to just have to decorate my Kitchen!!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated Nelson Crest this year.....

I really enjoyed decorating it and thinking about the time when the Twins are older and can play with this doll house, which will eventually be passed on to them....

On SATURDAY, I will be moving the Tour upstairs....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on SATURDAY!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Hi Deb..your dollhouse is beautiful and I love the attention to every detail. My grandfather made me a more modern dollhouse for my Barbies. It even had an elevator!

  3. Oh my! One day those little girls are going to see that doll house and then beware! They'll need a house of their own. Lovely, all, as is the the warmth of the pizza party. Love traditions like this!
