Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!
I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!
The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....
I post 3 TIMES A WEEK on MONDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAYS.....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my last post, I shared how I decorated the Den with the era of Charles Dicken's in mind, the mid 1800's....
Click HERE if you missed that post!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
Saturday was also the day that Trans Siberian Orchestra put on 2 shows at our arena, which is located 5 minutes from my house...
If you have stopped by my Christmas Blog over the years, you may remember that going to see TSO in concert was a Christmas tradition that my late husband Joe and I had....
Over the years, we went with friends, family and just the 2 of us....
I did go last year with my sister and we had a great time...
She was not able to go this year and I did think of going myself but some traditions are not the same with the person you had that tradition with so I elected not to go and rather to spend the day helping out at my church's annual Craft Fair amongst friends....
My friend Barb is my photographer and she sent me these pictures from Saturday....
I am thankful that she does this because she has taken pictures of Joe at past church events that I treasure...
I have my shopping bag with me to take food and treasures I will purchase home!
Putting tickets in for the Theme Basket Raffle....
I made up this basket of Pittsburgh Penguins items in memory of Joe....
I also added a $50 Visa Gift Card to it and was happy to hear that so any people were interested in it....
One guy even offered to buy the basket I made up for $100...
Me and my long time friend Carol.....
Margaret, me and long time friend and my photographer Barb.....
Margaret and I selling tickets for the basket raffle....
Filling in at the Food Stand check out so the person working it could take a lunch break...
Food that I brought home....
Homemade meatballs for my son Joey, made by one of our church secretaries Maryann....
And Polish Haluski made with homemade potato drop Kluski noodles!!!!
As per Google AI Overview....
"In Polish, "haluski" (ha-LOOSH-key) refers to a traditional comfort food dish of fried cabbage and egg noodles. It
is a simple, rustic meal that also includes onions and butter, and is
often enhanced with additions like bacon, kielbasa, or smoked paprika."
Now my mother always made Haluski with bow tie noodles but she used to make Kluski for chicken soup!!
"Kluski
(pronounced "cloo-ski") is a
generic Polish term for all kinds of soft dumplings, usually without a
filling, that can be made from various ingredients like flour, eggs, and
potatoes. They are distinct from pierogi and are a staple of traditional Polish cuisine" It was delicious!!!
I also bought some popcorn from my friend Jackie who owns Country Girl Kettle Corn....
These pictures were taken on Sunday.....
Me and my new friend Lucy, who is secretary of our Senior Social Club.....
Me and my friend Joanne, who is in the Community Group with me.....
I am talking with Ellie who just lost her husband....
My long time friends Carol and Barb, my photographer.....
It was a great weekend spent among friends!!
Today, I am continuing my tour of the Den decorated for Christmas and will be sharing one brand new Tree and one "not new to me" Tree used in a different room....
I will start where I left off in my last post, to the right of the back door.....
This is the 4 ft. table top Tree that I bought over 15+ years ago on Clearance in Target for a mere $10!!
There was no such thing back then as a Slim or Pencil thin Tree so in order to not have it stick out over the edges of this end table, I have trimmed about 1-2 inches off the lower branches to make it "slimmer"....
It was heavy, bulky and had a plastic base which allowed it to fall over several times when decorated.....
Yes, it certainly did!!!
For about 3 years, I debated on buying a new Tree
Finally, last year after Christmas I bought this Tree.....
A National Tree
Company 4' Kingswood Fir Pencil Tree...
BOSCOV's had it for $42.99
but offered an additional 40% off discount on select Christmas
items so I ordered it for a mere $25.99!!
Much cheaper than on any other sites including Amazon....
Here it is set up and fluffed out....
I do not like pre-lit trees as those lights never seem to last past 2-3 years and then you have to cut them all off the Tree.....
So I prefer an unlit Tree that I can light myself....
I used a set taken off the old Tree and a new set of lights...
Rule in lighting a Tree is 100 lights per foot but I think when using slightly larger warm white LED lights, you can get away with less as this Tree has about 300 lights on it....
Here it is all decorated....
I elected not to use the ivory rose embossed beaded garland on it this year.....
I did use a styrofoam burgundy, blue and gold ornament garland on the Tree
I do have to say that the branches on this Tree are pretty sturdy.....
I was able to use almost all the ornaments that I used on the older Tree except for a few really large ones....
It is decorated in a collection of Victorian style ornaments in burgundy, blue ivory and gold which is the color theme for this room.....
I tucked a few gold glittered branches and pheasant feathers into the top of the Tree...
I later added 2 burgundy feathers to the top of the Tree....
I also tucked burgundy velvet like roses into the Tree....
I later found 6 candle light clip on ornaments that I had in my stash that I added to the Tree....
Underneath the Tree, on a tree skirt Joe bought on Clearance at 90% off in Big Lot's.....
A vintage manger just like the one I had as a child....
A Thomas Kinkade house....
I am really quite happy that I bought this Tree.....
In burgundy....
A deer I bought in Big Lot's....
Over beween the computer armoire and my Victorian doll house.....
I decided to use a different Tree this year for my collection of 1950's children ornaments.....
Other years, I used this white feather Tree....
It was starting to look a bit worse for wear.....
This is the Tree that I used to display my husband Joe's Pittsburgh Sports ornaments on....
I gifted the ornaments to my sons and a friend of mine whose son is also a Pittsburgh fan so I decided to use this Tree in the Den.....
I topped it with a Sana Tree topper....
I bought these ornaments in Michael's about 20 years ago....
They are favorites of mine.....
A handmade card sent to me by a friend....
I embellished these 2 bottles that I bought at The Christmas Tree Shop.....
So there you have my new Tree and a not so new Tree in the Den
And this is where I will end this post today.....
I hope you will stop by to visit again on THURSDAY when I finish my tour of the Den decorated for Christmas....
