I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

~ Charles Dickens, A Christmas Carol

WELCOME TO MY CHRISTMAS BLOG!!

WELCOME TO MY CHRISTMAS BLOG!!

Christmas is my favorite Holiday and my favorite time of year!

I go all out decorating our small townhouse for all Holidays but especially Christmas!

Every room in our home has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20 in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same spot every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but it is like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas.......

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas traditions and I will not change them until I can no longer decorate like I do......

This blog is dedicated to All Things Christmas!!

Christmas Kitchen Tree, Hutch and Candy Bar and More Crafting, 2021

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

Just a reminder, I will be NOW posting 3 times a week as I realized that in some rooms, there is just too much to share in one post SO until the New Year, I will be posting on SUNDAYS, TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

Today, I will be sharing part of my Kitchen all decked out for Christmas....

But first, I want to Thank Michelle , over at My Bijou Life, for choosing my post, Christmas in the Powder Room, as her feature from last week's Traffic Jam Weekend Link Up Party!!

It was also the Most Viewed...

I chuckled when I read her comment that she never saw anyone decorate a bathroom before...

I have been doing it for over 20 years!!

 LOL!!

Thanks so much, Michelle!!

I also want to Thank Rachelle, over at My Hubbard Home, for choosing my post, Master Bedroom, Christmas Buys and Christmas Crafting, as one of her features from last week's Friday with Friends Link Party!!!

She liked my Kitchen wreath re-do....

Thanks for your sweet words about my home and the feature , Rachelle!!

Much appreciated!!

Please stop by and link up to these charming parties!!!!

On to some personal notes...

I have been doing a bit of Christmas Crafting again.....

You may remember that I shared this picture of my Dad with the wreaths and trees that he made using thread cones and spools that my Mother brought home from the sewing factory in which she worked....

Last year, I decided to use the spools that I bought at an estate sale to make a smaller version of the spool tree that my Dad made....

This is my version....

And this is where I chose to display it this year.....

This year, I decided to recreate the large wreath that my Dad made out of thread cones....

I used to buy paper mache cones by the dozen on Ebay when I was selling my Victorian crafts on Ebay and at local Craft Fairs and shops....

I still had a small tub of them left....

I used a card board round from a Price Chopper pizza ( it never touched the pizza) as the base to glue the cones onto in a circle....

That was after I covered 18 cones with music sheet paper which had been given to me by my friend, Anne Marie...

They were her Mother's old music books....

I then glued a green tinsel wired trim around the openings...

After gluing them to the card board round, I discovered that I did not have ball ornaments large enough to fit in the openings of the cones so I stuffed the opening with Buffalo Snow that I had on hand, gluing it to the sides....

I then literally pulled the pink and green ornaments off of my Tree in the Craft Room....

I now was able to glue them tightly into the openings of the cones....

Next I glued 3 pink glittered picks that I originally used to tuck into the Dining Room Tree when I used the 7 foot slim Tree in the Dining Room ( it is now in the Living Room)

When I bought the pencil Tree for the Dining Room, I could not use these picks in the Tree....

I also pulled 3 green snowflakes that I glued pink ornaments to right off of the Tree and glued them to the center of the wreath...

Then I made a bow out of some green tinsel garland and place another pink ornament in the center of it and glued that onto the wreath....

And this is where I hung it in the Craft Room.....

On the closet door....

I have 21 more cones left so I think I will be making one more wreath like this and that will free up a small tub in my craft room, giving me more space!!

And using up supplies that I would not be using up for what I originally bought them for....

Also speaking of cones......

One year on clearance in Michael's, I bought a bunch of these large cones...

They can be used for Witch's hats, Tussie Mussie's , etc.

I saw this Tree in Big Lot's this year.....

I thought that I could make something similar because I had a bunch of burlap in my stash and I also bought these pines for $5 a bag in Big Lots...

I also bought these in Dollar Tree.....

I cut the burlap in strips and glued them to the cone, folding them up.....

I glued pine cones and some of the red and gold styrofoam balls to the top.....

I had some holly picks in my stash that I cut and glued on the Tree....

From the side....

So this is my version of the burlap tree that I saw in Big Lot's....

I plan on making another one and gluing small snowflakes on it to use for Winter decorations....

I also saw velvet cone trees in Big Lot's and I have red and green velvet fabric so I will mot likely be playing around with that idea.....

And I did one more craft....

I bought these Victorian ephemera ornaments on Ebay some time ago.....

I wanted a more vintage look to the top of the hutch in the Living Room so I decided to back some Victorian ephemera ornaments with fan folded music sheet paper and hang them on the garland above the hutch...

The ornaments are all angels which I thought would look well with my vintage choir boys, gifted to me by my good friend, Anne Marie!!

I think it truly did give the top of the hutch more of a vintage look....

I will be sharing more of the Living Room in future posts....

That was all the crafting that I got to do this week....

I have a bunch of other things in mind to craft but they will have to wait for a week as Little Faye is here with us until Friday morning while Jim and Danielle are in Las Vegas.....

Since I will be taking Faye out in the back yard to do her business, I decided to hang the Sled that I decorated.....

The safest and most stable place to hang this sled was here as there is a nail in the wood trim

I changed the Santa head to a smaller one that I had.....

I moved the framed Thomas Kinkade Calendar picture over here, above my chair....

I will be sharing more of the Den in future posts.....

For the last 43 Christmas's, the VA Medical Center by our home has put a Christmas Tree on top of the building, lighting it for the first time on Thanksgiving night.....

This year, we think the Tree, which is a frame of some sort, is larger and brighter than ever...

This is what I see from our front porch and when I am laying in bed at night, looking out one of our bedroom windows.....

A great site, don't you think???

Now, on to my Christmas Kitchen......

My Kitchen is my one of my favorite rooms in our townhouse.....

Not because I like to cook but because I love to decorate it....

Needless to say, the fact that the Kitchen is red really lends itself to Christmas decorating!!!

And of course, I decorate it in a Candy and Gingerbread theme....

I made valances and a cafe curtain for under the counter bar a few years ago out of this vintage fabric .....

My Dad made the shelves for me that are hung on each side of the Kitchen hutch from scrap lumber....

Part of a vintage Salt and Pepper shaker set....

I bought the Lump of Coal cookies at Dollar Tree....

A chalkboard, that a co worker gave me a few years back, with a cute cutting board placed on it.......

My Kitchen Christmas Tree....

It fits perfectly......

Last year, I changed out the bow on top of the Tree......

The Tree is decorated with candy ornaments....

Gingerbread ornaments.....

Kitchen Santa ornaments.....

Peppermint candy lights....

Cupcake ornaments....

And any other Kitchen related ornaments.....

The Kitchen Hutch....

On the top, are 2 of my Kitchen Santa's......

I bought both at J.C. Penney's......

The top shelf.....

I bought this Santa on Clearance in Burlington for $5!!

This cookie jar was a gift from a friend.....

I bought this Santa in Cracker Barrel.....

This vintage cookie jar that I filled with cookie cutters was my neighbor Elly's.....

The bottom shelf.....

A green yellow ware vintage bowl filled with Kitchen utensils and cookie cutters.......

I bought this Santa at Gabes.....

I bought this Gingerbread Man cookie jar at The Christmas Tree Shop

I bought this candy cookie jar at a church flea market.....

The desk part of the hutch is set up like a candy and pastry shop......

Apothecary jars filled with Christmas candy......

This 2 tiered plate was a gift from friends....

It is filled with faux candies and pastries.....

Cupcake dishes and another apothecary jar....

Under the desk area......

On the side of the hutch.....

On the other shelf......

Another Santa that I bought at Gabes standing on top of a mason jar, that was gifted to me, filled with the ingredients to make cookies with a recipe card attached to it.....

And the other Santa from the vintage Salt and Pepper Shaker.....

A cookie ornament hangs from a cinnamon scented broom.....

I bought this wreath from a local crafter that was a vendor at many of the craft fairs that I used to do.....

Above the door to the Den......

A tray that I bought in Dollar General last year.....

I bought this sign last year and changed it to match my Kitchen......

It looked like this originally.....

On the side of the stove.....

A grater hung upside down.......

I tucked some Christmas florals into my vintage Planter's Peanut's tin with my rolling pin collection....

The skates belonged to my neighbor Elly's son who is my age.....

I sewed a rod pocket on this towel so I could hang it from the towel bar like a curtain....

And that is where I will leave off for now.....

On Tuesday, I will be sharing the rest of the Kitchen....

So I hope you will stop by again on Tuesday!!!!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  9. I put my red truck themed tree in our dining room this year but don't have one in the kitchen. I would need a very tall and slender tree like yours to make that work. Thanks for sharing your charming kitchen. #HomeMattersParty
