I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....
In my last post, I shared my Victorian Tree and Village in the Living Room.......
Click HERE if you missed that post......
Our Living Room is the largest room that I decorate in our home.....
I pretty much replace all of my "regular" things in the Living Room with Christmas decorations.....
It takes me at least 4 days to decorate this room, counting the Tree and Village but not counting one whole day to take down and pack away the Autumn decorations............
But first, I want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for featuring my post, Christmas in the Kitchen, Vignettes, from last week's Over the Moon Link party!!!
Thanks so much, Bev!!
I also want to Thank Linda, over at Life and Linda, for featuring my post, Christmas in the Kitchen Tree and Hutch, from last week's Love your Creativity Link party!!
Thanks so much, Linda!!
Please stop by and link up to these charming parties!!!
We will start at the front door.....
This is a metal door that I did a faux staining treatment on to make it look like a wood door.....
I found this pediment that I hung above the door at a yard sale for $5.00 and I gave it a fresh coat of stain....
I hung a Santa plaque here.....
I added beaded garland and a Santa to the curtain on the door....
Against the wall on the left when you walk in is Joe's Grandmother's hutch.....
I always put that cane in the corner by the door just like the cane that Kris Kringle left by the door at the end of the movie "Miracle on 34th Street".....
Joe's family was going to throw this hutch out so I took it and refinished it right here where it is standing.....
A brass fan and sconces, bought at a yard sale, hang on each side of the hutch....
A sweet mica coated angel sits on an unfinished shelf that I stained.......
We keep our keys on the vintage brass ash tray.......
This year, I changed up the hutch a bit but kept the religious Christmas theme.......
Between the lights and the mirrors which I added inside the hutch, it is a bugger to photograph......
An antique mantle mirror hangs above the hutch......
The top of the mirror is draped with greenery which I added 2 sets of battery operated lights and red and gold stars to.....
A few years ago, my dear friend Anne Marie, gifted me these antique carolers.....
I love them!!
I placed 2 gold glittered churches on top of the hutch too.....
In the middle of the hutch is a greenery swag that I made and also tucked some gold glittered branches into.....
I also clipped candle ornaments to it since I used candle ornaments to decorate the large Tree in the Living Room.....
Gold mercury glass candle holders hold battery operated candles that are set on a timer.....
For the past few years, I had decorated the inside of the Hutch with nativity sets......
This year, I moved them elsewhere and decided to decorate the inside of the hutch with my "Praying Santa" Collection......
I had passed on some Christmas plates that I had to my niece last year so this year, I used red and green vintage dishes that I have.....
Sorry for the reflection but that is a Nativity ornament that is hanging in the center of the hutch......
I kept my Sam's Club sets of white and gold angels in the hutch where they are displayed year round.....
Joe bought this gold metal filigree church on Clearance one year in Bed, Bath and Beyond.......
In front of the church, I placed the front of a Christmas Card that we sent several years ago......
When the boys were young, I used to have personalized Christmas cards made every year and one year, I chose the "Praying Santa" card......
That then lead me to buy this book, " Santa and the Christ Child" for my Boys in a Catholic Guild Store.....
And a collection was started........
I then bought this figurine of the "Praying Santa".....
And as luck would have it, I found another figurine and a small frame of the "Praying Santa" at a church flea market !!!!
I framed the inside of the Christmas card that we sent so many years ago.....
In front of the frame in a vintage depression glass dish rests an ornament " Jesus is the Reason for the Season"
I really am happy with this display in the hutch for this year.....
Another brass fan and sconce are on this side of the hutch....
A Thomas Kinkade Christmas plate hangs above the scone on this side....
Another mica coated angel....
On the wall, I hung a lighted Christmas scene picture and a Christmas tin ceiling tile.....
2 more of the Santa's bought at Sam's Club.....
Looking up the stairs.......
Looking down the hall to the Kitchen and Powder Room.....
A swag that I made....
On the stairs.....
A Nutcracker and gold lanterns.....
I use this antique chair for Holiday and Seasonal displays.....
A Teddy Bear Nutcracker, a child's sled and rocking horse......
In the corner by the stairs....
Bearington Christmas bears are displayed on the chair......
A Velvet wrapped gift box and a gold mercury glass ball with fairy lights inside of it that I recently bought at Ollie's......
Inside of a lantern is a vintage doll that my Mother gave me when I was a child.....
Along with a vintage Santa boot that I placed a Santa head inside of....
A pfaltzgraff snow globe and a vintage reindeer resting on top of a drum....
Carrying on the vintage theme......
I decorated this Tree, which is an outdoor pathway Tree, with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments.....
These are not the ones I remember as a child because my Mother threw them out but these are the ones I bought at a church flea market......
I topped the tree with a bow made out of the same ribbon that I have used through out the Living Room and on top of the large Tree......
I did use a gold vintage looking tinsel like garland that I bought in Target on this Tree....
I will let the pictures do the talking......
The tree sits on top of a marble topped cherub plant stand.....
I found this vintage Christmas pop up card in a box of cards that were my neighbor Elly's when I was cleaning out her home for her sons.....
Ironically, it has a post office on it and with Joe being a retired Letter Carrier, I knew it was destined to be mine.....
It is flanked by 2 gold glittered trees bought at Dollar Tree.....
On top of the curio.....
A tussie mussie and a swag that I made.....
I added candle ornaments to the swag....
On the side of the curio.....
A Santa Head and a Christmas scene.....
I added a few Christmas touches to the curio.....
A gold angel on the side of the curio.....
Christmas tussie mussies that I made hang on the door knobs of the coat closet doors.....
It is really hard to take pictures here because the hall is so narrow but this hangs on a mirror between the closet and the Powder Room door.....
I changed out the picture above the mirror for this frame that holds a picture from a Thomas Kinkade calendar!!
A wreath that I made hangs on the mirror....
Love this Victorian style stocking....
A swag hangs on top of our wedding picture on the wall across.....
I hoped you liked seeing the entry way into our home and how I decorated it for Christmas......
In my next post, I will be sharing some Christmas Vignettes in the Living Room......
And where I put my large Nativity set.....
And where I put the table topper that I finished embroidering after starting it 40 years ago!!!
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
