Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!
Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!
I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!
The
majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every
year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to
me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for
Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and
friends...........
I do try to add a few new things and change up
things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my
Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....
I am now posting 3 times a week !!!
I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY!
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....
In my last post, I shared how I decorated the Craft Room in pink and green for Christmas....
Click
HERE if you missed that post!!
And now for a few Personal Notes...
Food of the Week
Since Joe finished the other half of his Reheat and Eat dinner on Friday evening before going the Hockey game, Joey and I got Ho Yi Chinese!!
Chicken Lo Mein without the veggies.....
And some chicken soup for tomorrow....
Joey got the same but in the larger portions.....
LOL!
So good!!
Joe will not eat Chinese....
Remembering all the Veteran's in my family, especially my Dad who was a member of the "Greatest Generation"....
He was a Master Sargent in the army stationed in Italy during WWII....
And his 4 brothers.....
Who all, thankfully, made it home safely from WWII.....
And my late Great Nephew Craig, who served in the Army Reserves.....
Today, Saturday, I start Day 4 of decorating our Living Room.....
It usually takes 5 days....
A few sneak peeks....
Today, I will decorate the 2 Trees, hang swags and tweak a few things and tomorrow , I will do the Village under the Tree....
Next week, I will do the Kitchen and Dining Room....
Right on Track to be done by Thanksgiving.....
I went out shopping last weekend and picked up just a few things....
New Buys
Big Lot's
For many years, I could not find blue towels for my Powder Room for Christmas....
Now they seem to have them all over so I bought these 2....
I loved this place mat.....
And it is reversible so I can use it also for my Kitchen Winter decorations....
And I love this Gingerbread mug.....
Ollies....
I bought 2 more of these flocked mini trees...
And they had the Scentsicles which I hang on all my trees for only $3.99 a bottle plus I had a 15% off coupon....
Bed, Bath and Beyond usually have them for $9.99!!
I also found another blue towel set!!
"O Holy Night"
I will use these for Christmas and save the other ones for the rest of the Winter....
Ocean State Job Lot...
Love the vintage look of these cute trees.....
Dollar Tree
Bought this to use for either my Villages or my Doll House
These are cute to tuck into floral arrangements!!
And I can not resist bottle brush trees and Dollar Tree has a wide variety of them this year!!
These are white and aqua....
And these are white and green!!
I loved the sayings on these cute dishes...
And I can never resist a Christmas sign that has candy on it!!
I did go back to Dollar Tree and bought a bunch of other things which I will be sharing in a sneak peek later in this post....
Crafts and Projects
Last year, I donated the huge wreaths that I hung on my front door and windows for many years to Salvation Army....
I made this new front door wreath....
And these wreaths for the windows in the beginning of this year....
I used this ribbon that I bought on Clearance last Christmas for the bows and combined it with another ribbon for some bows....
Since I was hanging smaller wreaths on the windows this year, I wanted to add something else to the window so I combined 2 different garlands from my stash and made "boughs" for the window sills.....
One of the upstairs bedroom windows....
And the Living Room window....
Now what did I do with all those bows that I made last year....
I also bought these 2 rolls of ribbon a few weeks ago....
I made 2 bows for the front and back of our light post....
I decorated the front of the house last week when we had a warm spell and I will be sharing it in a post next Saturday.....
Every year I usually fill the pots and planters in the front of the house with greenery cut from the different evergreen trees on the side of our road....
This is the black urn between my front porch and my next door neighbor's....
Remember I live in a townhouse...
I also tucked on some faux greenery, pine cones and a red berry bush...
I bought packs of birch branches on Clearance in Target a few years back....
The flower bed under the Living Room window....
I also did the same with these pots that I moved into the flower bed from the side walk in front of the porch railing as it makes it easier to shovel the snow when it comes...
I did the same with these pots but only the red berries are faux in these pots....
I keep watering them until they freeze and they usually keep until the beginning of March....
Now since I donated all the large wreaths to Salvation Army, I had to come up with something to hang in the center of the house.....
For many years, I hung this wreath there.....
Joe bought 2 wooden stars made by the son of the Amish Farmer that sets up every Friday in the Summer at the Convenience store down the road from us....
I gave the larger one to my niece Renae and kept the smaller one...
This was my inspiration photo.....
I spray painted my star white....
I saw another picture on Pinterest of a star with a wreath in the center of it!!
Great idea!!
So I checked my stash and found I had several of these small size wreaths...
Since I still have some red velvet bows on a few things out front, I attached one to the top of the wreath and wired it to the star.....
I bought this set of lights with a white wire in Home Depot...
A word to the wise if you would ever decide to make one of these....
DO NOT attach the wreath first before you wrap the lights around the star!!!!!
It took me an hour and I could not feel my fingers afterward!
I do love the wreath in the center.....
Sneak Peek....
A slightly different look to the porch this year....
And remember, I will be sharing the front of our house next Saturday on my Christmas Home Tour!!!
Last year, I decided to change out my Moss Rose dishes in the Dining Room hutch......
With red transferware dishes, ruby red depression glass and Colony Park Lane clear ruby red flash vintage glassware ...
I did the same this year after cleaning the hutch....
With the glass doors back on.....
I will be adding a few gold Christmas items to dress it up a bit more once I unpack them!!
In addition to spray painting the wood star when we had above average temps., I took advantage of it and spray painted this clear pumpkin shaped container that was from pretzels that Joe had been using to keep his spare change in as we save it to use for Christmas....
He bought a fancy one that counts the change when you put it in.....
I will most likely decoupage a nice Halloween or Fall picture in this area where the label was.....
I also spray painted these....
2 pieces of wood that I found in my lumber stash and 3 wire shelves......
Now what in Heaven's name would I do with these??????
Sneak Peek.....
Remember I mentioned that I bought a bunch of things at Dollar Tree???
I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures of everything I bought to create my new Beverage area for Christmas!!!
This is not finished yet because I need to change out a few things with Christmas items I have yet to unpack...
So I will be sharing the finished Christmas Beverage Bar in a future post but I just could not wait to get it set up after watching numerous You Tube videos and looking at Pinterest and Blog posts for ideas!!!
I am really very happy with it!!!
Well, that is my update on new things I bought and all the projects and crafts I have been doing.....
There is still a LOT to see on my Christmas Home Tour.....
On TUESDAY, I will be continuing my Christmas Home Tour and will be sharing my new flocked Tree, that Joe bought last year on Clearance for a mere $8.97, in the upstairs Siting Room....
So I hope you will stop by to visit again on TUESDAY!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Great finds, good you found some blue towels. Your Christmas decorating is moving right along, I haven't started yet. The new beverage center looks good. Enjoy the weekend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun post! Great shopping finds! Your outdoor area looks terrific. I really like all the changes last year and this year. I can't wait to hear more about your beverage bar and to see what you do with your crafting finds.
ReplyDeleteWow!, Debbie, I don't even know where to start. EVERYTHING is stunning. You sure did get some nice buys. Gotta love Dollar Tree am I, right? I purchase most of my craft supplies there (well, I go to Joanne's & Michaels too (I love the sales 😉). Just beautiful my friend.
ReplyDeleteVisiting at your place today from IMM#29,30&31
There's loads to love here but I have to say those stars are just fabulous. Love them with and without a wreath but the wreath is just he best. Well done! (Love your DT finds, too!)
ReplyDeleteSo many inspiring photos!
ReplyDeleteA big shout out and thank you to all your family members who served! My grandparents were part of the Greatest Generation and they were next level amazing. I love all the holiday goodies you found and your stars, wreaths and outdoor arrangments too. They are fantastic! I can't get over all the goodies you find. It's like every season you are hitting the lotto! Hugs for a happy week, CoCo
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your shopping treasures. Will be great to see Nelson Crest decked out for Christmas; after a funeral yesterday, I cheered myself up with a short visit to a small flea market; found a dh sized tin platter that the rest of the world thinks is a pin, a tiny jack-in-the-box and part of a porcelain tea set. An ornament for a friend, another glass swan for me! Your home decorations are just so awesome! I always love seeing them. I am not good at making the bows the way you do. I made a 6 loop one with a small thumb bow in the center; guess I just need more practice!
ReplyDeleteKathy,
DeleteSounds like you were able to nab some great treasures. Good for you!! Sorry to hear about the loss of someone important to you....I learned to make bows at a craft class that I took many years ago...It is the loop, pinch in the center and twist and repeat.... I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and got to spend it with those that you love!!
Hugs,
Deb
You've been busy shopping! Thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 90. Shared.
ReplyDeleteMy mom and I were just talking about Chinese food last night and how it's been ages since either one of us has had any! You found some really great buys while out shopping. When we were first married I tried to have all our holiday decor be that pale blue and silver and gold and all snowman/snowflake themed but it was SO hard to find much in blue. I am loving that there are so many more color options for the holidays now. I love your star wreath and that beverage station is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWow, So many pretty things! I love seeing all your beautiful decorations and ideas.
ReplyDeleteThanks bunches for sharing this with Sweet Tea & Friends this month. ❤️
ReplyDeleteDebbie,
