I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

New Christmas Tree & a Christmas Haul, October Rudolph Day

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I post 3 TIMES A WEEK on MONDAY, THURSDAY AND SATURDAYS.....

HAPPY RUDOLPH DAY!!!!!

Rudolph Day is celebrated the 25th of each month......

Most will share something to do with Christmas on Rudolph Day....

In my last Rudolph Day post for September, I shared How I financially planned for this Christmas...

Click HERE to read that post if you missed it...

UPDATE on planning financially for Christmas....

I received my Christmas Club on October 1st and I am so proud of myself being able to save that amount of money to not only cover the Holiday season but also to cover my yearly HOA fee and Spring municipality taxes....

I am happy to say that I am done Christmas and Birthday shopping for my twin grand daughters...

I took advantage of clearance sales in Boscov's and Penney at the end of the Summer and bought a bunch of clothes for them for the Spring/Summer season, buying a larger size that they should be in by then...

My original plan was to give my son Jim and DIL Danielle money for toys that they would then use to  buy toys they wanted the girls to have and give back to me to wrap and gift to them here at my house for Christmas and for their Birthdays, which are December 29th...

Until I saw a set of toys in an Ollie's email....

I checked with Danielle first before buying them and after she gave me permission, I bought these toys for the Twins....

I thought these Kitchen toys would be just right for the twins and Danielle agreed....

All this for under $100 for Christmas!!

Then I got to thinking about where they would put all of this...

So I found a cute play table on Amazon for  $84.99.....

It can be adjusted to several heights up to 8 years old, has round edges and a graffiti top that can be wiped clean from crayons, etc....

I decided to wait to order it, after I first checked with Danielle if they had room and would want this, to see if the price went down during Prime Days......

Danielle loved it...

Prime Days came but I decided to do my google price check like I always do and I found this!!!

Walmart, online, had the same table, only in pink with a set of 4 chairs, made by the same company for only $89.99!!

The chairs also adjusted to 3 different heights!!

Again, I checked with Danielle and she said they could use 2 chairs upstairs and 2 downstairs...

She loved it!!

So I ordered it!!

It will be sitting right here in my hall way until we decide when they will set it up for the girls....

So I am done shopping for the Twin's Christmas and Birthday presents....

Now I know all those Amazon Affiliate Bloggers and other Social Media people out there will not be happy with this but I have found time and time again that I can find things cheaper than Amazon at Walmart online and you get free shipping for an order over $35 without a membership fee!!

I honestly do not care for Amazon and I do not even have a membership.

If I do find something I want on Amazon that I can not find cheaper else where, I have my son order it for me...

Since I gift everyone else money or gift cards, with the deposit of my Christmas Club into my savings, I also already have the money for those gifts so I consider myself DONE with Christmas as far as gift giving and also for both my son's birthday which are also in December!!

Also in my last Rudolph Day post, I said I was going to start stocking up on baking supplies...

I have already bought flour and several bags of chocolate morsels that were on sale for cookie baking...

Yesterday, I went to the Amish Farmer and bought zucchini and bananas to make bread with that I freeze to have on hand for the Holidays....

I also bought a book of stamps in preparation for Christmas card writing...

And because of my Food Stock Up buying, I am proud to say that I went grocery shopping this week for the first time in 3 weeks!!!

I do have a small Christmas Haul to share....

I am being very good and honestly, not really buying much in the way of Christmas decor this year....

But I did pick up a few things...

I bought these at Dollar General....

For the most part, almost all of Dollar General ornaments have gone up in price because of the tariffs....

They still do have some for $1 but most are now $2.....

I grabbed these doughnut ornaments, as I bought some last year, to use in a Valentine's Day display....

I loved these cute gingerbread hot chocolate ornaments even though they were $2....

And I liked this gingerbread cookie for $1....

I also grabbed these cute gingerbread salt and pepper shakers from the Dolly Parton Christmas collection in Dollar General...

How cute is this!!

 They were $5....

I bought all of these in one shopping trip and I did have a $5 off $25 coupon which I used as I also bought a few groceries that were on sale...

From what I have seen on You Tube, Gingerbread is HUGE this year for Christmas decor.....

I have seen numerous "Shop with Me" You Tube videos showing that Ollie's bought out a lot of Joann Fabrics Christmas merch...

So I did go to Ollies to check that out but since NEPA seems to always be behind when getting Seasonal Merch to our stores, they were just starting to put out Christmas decor...

I did find these for only 99 cents each!

A sweet pot holder....

And 2 place mats....

Gabes has also been putting out their Christmas decor even though I have seen most of it on You Tube " Shop with Me" videos for the past 2 months...

 I loved this spoon drip....

They did have ones with other quotes on them too....

It was $3.99....

I plan on using it year round...

I also picked up these sweet little sea turtle ornaments which I will use on my Late Summer "Under the Sea" Tree ....
.

 They were $1.99...

When I bought these items from Gabes, I also had a $5 off $25 coupon that I used....

In January, I bought this National Tree Company 4' Kingswood Fir Pencil Tree for my Den.....

For years, I had been looking to replace the Tree I used in the Den for many years which was very wide and heavy....

I even trimmed about an inch off the bottom branches of this Tree so it would not hang over the edges of the table....

BOSCOV's had it for $42.99 but was offering an additional 40% off discount on select Christmas items so I ordered it for a mere $25.99!!

Not bad for a Tree that was originally selling for $75 to $90!!

I took the lights, as they are warm white LED lights, off the old Tree and packed them away to use on the new one....

And saved the top of it to use in a pot out in the front of the house!

The other day, I cleaned the windows in the Den and added the ivory lace panels to the burgundy jabot valances for the Winter...

I packed away the vintage lamp that I had on this table for the Spring/Summer....

And I went up the attic and brought down the box that held the new Tree....

Now you know that once you take a Tree out of the box it came in, you will never ever get back in that box....

I do not even try as I like to store these small Trees stripped down with just the lights on them in a garbage bag standing up and fully assembled....

But these Tree boxes are great to use in storing garlands or swags...

This is the top of the Tree...

And the bottom which has hinged branches....

 Those branches are pretty sturdy...

The first 2 rows of branches on the top half needed to be bent down but still pretty sturdy ones like the bottom half....

The top branches were single ones that needed to be positioned...

What I did find is that there was very little shedding from the branches after manipulating them and fluffing them out....

 And here it is!!

Not to bad!!

I do really like how it fits on this table....

Much better than the old one, I think!!

I am not a lover of pre lit Trees as it seems that after a few short years, I end up cutting the dead set of lights off them and adding my own lights...

I usually always have to add lights to a pre lit Tree anyway as they never have enough lights on them....

The general rule in lighting a Tree is 100 lights for each foot of Tree.....

Another thing I like about this new Tree is the stand....

It is a sturdy metal one and not the plastic kind that the last Tree had......

The old Tree fell over several times because of that plastic flimsy stand....

Now I know that I will have to decorate this smaller, slimmer Tree a bit differently but I look forward to the challenge....

By the way, I will be starting to decorate the Den for Christmas on Monday as it is the only room not decorated for Falloween and I like to get it done before Halloween as it usually takes me around 25 days to decorate the entire house....

SNEAK PEEK.....

If you follow me on FB, you know that I have been doing a major transformation in my bedroom...

Finally, 18 months after my husband Joe's passing, I have been able to go through all his Pittsburgh Sports  Memorabilia that he displayed in that room.....

This is what the 2 areas looked like before...

I have reclaimed the area by the dresser but still paid homage and honored Joe by keeping the Victorian Gentleman's theme for the dresser...

I also attacked his Pittsburgh corner that I created for him...

I have thought long and hard about what I wanted to do here in this corner and again, I decided to pay homage and honor Joe's love for our Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins Hockey team , which we had season tickets for for 25 years...

I did clear out most of the Pittsburgh Pens things and the Steeler items, keeping only the Wilkes Barre Scranton items...

I decided instead of packing up all his bobble heads and pucks that it would be easier to keep them out as I am going to look into selling them...

Some are going for as high as $60 each...

I will admit that the 5 days I worked cleaning, rearranging, restyling and reorganizing this room were very emotional for me but I feel that I finally made this room my own now....

And I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders...

I will be posting more about my bedroom transformation over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog, soon....

I did get to decorate my bedroom for Christmas though!!

And I will be posting more about this in November when I switch over to posting on this blog for the Holiday Season....
