I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas Vignettes in the Living Room, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing the rest of the Living Room decorated for Christmas.....

In my last post, I shared the Entry into our Living Room including the Hutch, a vintage Tree and the hallway to the Kitchen decorated for Christmas....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

Thanks Dee, over at Grammy's Grid, for choosing my post, Pink Victorian Dining Room Tree and More Vignettes, as one of her features from the last Unlimited Link Party!!!

 Thanks so much, Dee!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

This past week, I got my baking done....

I did cut back this year as I no longer host Open Houses, Luncheons and other parties like I did prior to Covid....

Sadly, those things have had to be put to rest for now and as we learn how to better deal with Covid, because viruses do NOT go away, hopefully, I will be hosting those events again..

Our DIL recently had Covid again and Joe was exposed to it by 2 different coworkers so we have been testing and so far,so good with negative results and no symptoms of anything...

 Back to my baking....

I also did not want to bake cookies that only I like ....

I used to make ricotta cheese cookies with butterscotch chips in them and potato chip cookies which were a big hit and favorite of company but since there will not be much company again this year, I do not need to be eating all those cookies myself....

As to the cookies my family does like....

They like a little cookie with their candy!!!

I use the basic Toll House cookie recipe and just add different baking chips to it....

Now as part of their Christmas gift, I fill tubs of cookies for both my sons and DIL and give them to them with their Card ( which contains money) on Christmas Eve....

On Monday, I baked 2 batches of basic Toll House cookies with the semi sweet chocolate morsels....

And 2 batches of milk chocolate and peanut butter chips....

I even put extra chips in each batch....

I also made one batch of M&M cookies.....

I filled the 3 tubs of cookies for the kids.....

I put a slice of bread in the containers to keep the cookies from getting stale....

The bread gets hard but the cookies do not....

That evening, I whipped up a batch of Fool Proof Fudge that I have been making for many years...

Instead of the semi sweet morsels like the original recipe calls for, I used milk chocolate ones....

I also made a batch of the Peanut Butter Swirl Fool Proof Fudge and also used milk chocolate chips, putting the extra ones I had from baking on top........

After both batches cooled in the the fridge overnight, I cut it all up on Tuesday morning....

I will add the fudge to the kid's tubs of cookies on Christmas Eve day....

My son Joey recently discovered that he likes gingerbread cookies....

I did not want to mess with rolling out cookie dough and using cookie cutters....

So on Tuesday afternoon, I thought I would try this recipe for a soft, chewy gingerbread cookie that I found online after googling it....

It is a super easy recipe....

Joey likes them so much that I made another batch on Friday.....

Joe even likes them.....

And that is all the baking I will be doing.....

I do have zucchini bread that I made in the freezer so I also have that for the Holidays..

I did not want to have too many baked goods in the house because after losing 36 pounds in the last 6 months, I just want to hold steady for the month of December and not gain any weight....

Now since I have only used the rolling pin that I received for a Wedding Shower gift over 44 years ago about 2-3 times, I decided to do something else with it....

So I "dabbled" a bit with it....

I painted the handles green, glued a red and white striped ribbon around it and painted a small rolling pin and gingerbread man, gluing it to the top...........

I also painted wood letters and spelled out BAKE....

I also glued gingerbread  men to the handles.....

And here is where I put it....

Speaking of baking and cookies, I also picked this up at Dollar General.....

We had our grand pups for the day during the week and Joey took this picture of me , scowling at the TV News, with both pups on my lap!!

Both of them like wearing their sweaters!!

They also went to the Groomers.....

How sweet these 2 are!!!

Today, I will be finishing my Tour of the Living Room decorated for Christmas......

We will start here with my stereo stand and I will move around the room showing you what I haven't shared so far.........

Joe found this stand, which is on wheels, at a local Antique Co Op and it was the perfect fit for my Nostalgic Stereo system....

Again, the Living Room is decorated in a red, green and gold color theme for Christmas....

I decorate the house in a Victorian and Vintage style....

Old World Santa's under glass

Santa Snow Globe...

A vintage Christmas tea cup.....

My Vintage knee huggers that were mine as a child in a vintage Santa Mug....

I love this stand because of the cubby holes...

My one and only Byer's Choice Caroler figurine....

A Fitz and Floyd plate....

A Hallmark house...

One of the house I made early in the Season!

On the side of the chair....

A Bearington Bear....

On the side of the TV Entertainment Center is a 3 tiered vintage table....

I bought the plate for 99 cents in Salvation Army...

Vintage putz houses and handkerchief....

More putz houses and another 99 cent plate...

A Lenox house which was a gift from a friend....

Another house that i made...

A lighted globe....

When Joe wanted a BIG TV, the only way I would allow it in my Living Room was if he found a stand to put one in because I did not want the proverbial "Black Box" in my Victorian styled Living Room.....

I should have known that he would be able to find one.....

I do get to treat the top of it as a Mantel though.....

This is where I display my ceramic set of Victorian Carolers that were a Sam's Club Set made by Grandeur Noel.....

2 battery operated lighted trees are on each side......

In the candle holders that i made from a Dollar Tree vase and candle stick, I simply ran off a graphic from the computer and placed it around a battery operated candle.....

I added 2 Victorian lamp posts that were part of the Home Interiors line of products....

I found the vintage Tree in my neighbor Elly's attic when cleaning it out for her sons after she passed away....

I decorated it with red ornaments and snowflakes....

This year, after watching You Tube Christmas Home Tour videos and Blog posts, I decided that since this is "dead space" in front of the TV Entertainment Center and not in the path of walking, I would create a little vignette here....

In past years,  I did have the bench with the Bearington Bears on it here....

First, I have to share these images of my Grand Pups...

Jim and Danielle gifted me these last year.....

I keep the Christmas cards that we receive in this red velvet sled that was a gift from my friend Anne Marie....

On top of a vintage wicker stool, that was also my neighbor Elly's, is a tree and angel that I made....

On top of a chest, that was also my neighbor Elly's......

Another Bearington Bear...

The sled that I recently re-did....

A vintage Christmas card...

This set of Bearington Bears were a gift from another friend....

To the right of the TV Entertainment Center....

Is a small round table....

I made the embroidered topper finally finishing it 3 years ago after only having it for 30+ years....

This is also a Sam's Club ceramic set ....

And we are back to the front door.....

Next to the table is a chair....

And that completes my Tour of the Living Room decorated for Christmas this year....

It took me 6 days to decorate the Living Room

Tree Count

Tree #18

On TUESDAY, we will move into the last room of the house, the Den...

  3. I love what you did with the rolling pin. I have the one that belonged to my mother, but it doesn't get a lot of use anymore. I hardly do any baking, as I'd have to eat most of it. All your cookies and fudge look delicious. Have a fantastic week.

  4. Your desserts all look so good! I didn't bake any cookies at all this year; mostly because I didn't want to eat them all. I did ask my boys if there was something special they wanted me to bake but they were just fine with what we'd be eating at the parties we attend. I love what you did with your old rolling pin! That is such a cute idea.

  5. I like the first pic of the carolers, also the one of Santa reading to the children. That tree you made is pretty, did you use burlap? Thanks so much for linking up at the Unlimited Link Party 95. Shared.
