Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!
I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for
posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge
it......
Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!
I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!
The
majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every
year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to
me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for
Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and
friends...........
I do try to add a few new things and change up
things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my
Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....
Well, here we are in a New Year......
I know we all have a lot of hope for this New Year......
But I hope everyone will realize that things are not going to instantly get better and will probably get much worse before we can see a light at the end of the tunnel.....
Over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog, I posted what I chose for my One Little Word for 2021......

This will be my final post for this year's Christmas Season here on my Christmas Blog.....
So here is the Christmas Wrap Up......
On the 29th, we celebrated my oldest son's 39th birthday....
Again, Our Grand Puppy Little Faye was the highlight....
Joey just can not get enough of this little ball of fur.....
And of course, she had to go see her Dad......our son Jim....
On the 31st, New Year's Eve, we celebrated like we always do .........
With a family dinner, Lobster Tails that Joe makes, shrimp, scallops and chicken fingers for Joey who does not like fish.....
Cole Slaw and Joey did his run to McDonald's for 3 orders of Fries!!!
I set a simple tablescape for our New Year's Eve celebration.......
I used my china that I have had since we got married over 42 years ago......
It was a set that my Mother bought for me week by week at Acme Food Markets.....
I also used my gold flatware and longchamp crystal glasses.....
I saw something on another Blog, which I can not remember whose, and I loved the idea.......
If anyone knows whose blog featured this idea, please let me know so I can give them credit here.....
So I sent Joe out for Hershey Kisses , I found gift bags that I had and I printed up The Saying on the computer for these cute favors......
" Kissing 2020 Good Bye!!"
I made up 5 for all of us......
I think I will use this idea for New Year's Eve each year.......
And once again, we enjoyed having Faye as part of our celebration.....
Faye has learned to jump up on to furniture........
She nestled right in next to her Uncle Joey......
Now how sweet is she??????
She then jumped off the chair with Joey and went to see her Mom and Dad......
She is getting better with leaving her sweater on......
On New Year's Day, I made our traditional 4 Cheese Beef and Sausage Lasagna for Dinner......
This time I used my new copper casserole that I bought awhile ago in Big Lot's and it worked beautifully with this double batch......
No, I do not make Pork and Sauerkraut that is tradition in our area........
There is sausage in the lasagna and sauerkraut would probably send me to the ED because of all my GI issues.....
Again, I did another tablescape for New Year's Day Dinner..........
This year, I decided to use my red tranferware dishes instead of my green Olde Curiosity Shop dishes that I have used in previous years......
This was my New Year's Day tablescape from last year using the green Olde Curiosity Shop dishes..........
Glad that I changed it up a bit this year........
I mixed a few different patterns which is the great thing about transferware........
The green Lenox Chargers were bought at a church Flea Market.....
The candle in the center of the table was gifted to me......
I only have 4 dinner plates in one pattern but I did have a 5th in another pattern......
I wanted to share this view where you can see 3 of my Trees.........
Faye was sporting a cute tee shirt on this day.......
She was actually playing a game of Hide and Seek with Joey!!
It is amazing what a 5 pound little ball of fluff can make a 6 foot 4 inch tall guy do......
When Jim and Danielle went home, little Faye was tuckered out and nestled in next to Danielle on the sofa and fell asleep covered with her Blankie.....
We thoroughly enjoyed the Holiday Season this year, despite everything that is going on in the World....
And we were BLESSED ( My Word of the Month for December) that none of our Celebrations were changed and we were able to celebrate together, as a family, like we always have...
I stopped shopping after Christmas sales like I used to, a long time ago.....
I used to be at the stores the morning after Christmas Day as soon as they opened....
I knew when stores would mark down their Christmas merchandise to 50 % off and then down to 75 % off and kept a list of this in my Christmas Planner.....
For the past several years, I stopped doing this but I would venture out around New Year's just to see what was left in the stores because I knew that it would be at least 75% off and there would not be much left....
I have set several Goals for this New Year and one of them is NO SHOPPING !!!!!
Yep!
You read that right!!
The one thing this year has taught me is that I do not need to go out to the stores like I used to even though I live right next to one of the largest shopping districts in our County.....
I have everything I need......
And NO, I did not indulge myself in retail online shopping therapy during this Pandemic......
I do not even have an Amazon account and the only time I do order from Amazon is when my son, Joey gifts me a Gift Card.....
And I know with this statement , I will be causing Bloggers to faint all over the country but I find Amazon expensive in a lot of cases.....
These items were bought before or right after the New Year by Joe.......
I honestly do not leave the house unless it is to go in the mornings to leave our Grand Puppy Faye out while Jim and Danielle are at work....
I know I have mentioned in the past how much Joe loves Bed, Bath and Beyond and that Joe has been in there far more times than I have ever been because the store makes me Claustrophobic!!
He did pick up a few things there with my approval before he bought them......
Snow Birds for Winter decorations....
Very pretty Winter napkins that I am thinking would be perfect for a Winter tablescape using my green Olde Curiosity dishes!!
And I do have to admit that he scored BIG TIME on this one!!!!!
It was $44.99, marked down to half price and he had a $10 Off coupon so it was a little over $12!!!
It is battery operated and can be set on a Timer......
Joe bought these ornaments at Big Lot's that I will be using on one of my Winter Trees in the Den......
And these things are from Dollar General, Dollar Tree and Family Dollar which will al be used for Winter decor and crafting.......
Christmas face masks as I am sure we will still be wearing them next Christmas......
Napkins for Winter tablescapes and every day use......
A red cardinal mug for the Kitchen as I decorate it with cardinals as part of my Winter decor.....
And a few Christmas ornaments.......
These I plan on using as part of a craft project for the Winter......
.
These are definitely for the Kitchen......
These will also go on one of my Winter Trees in the Den which I will be changing over from Christmas to Winter decor shortly......
And last but not least, Joe bought these in Ollie's.......
I am thinking of using them in some craft projects.......
So there you have it...The Wrap Up to our Holiday Season for 2020!!!
For me, it was a most enjoyable Season.....
I finally had my entire house, inside and out decorated before Thanksgiving like I had always wanted to achieve!!
It took me 33 days!!!
But, it freed up so much time for me to do a little crafting, more baking, watch Christmas Movies, listen to Christmas music, "attend" Mass virtually in many different churches, visit many more blogs and thoroughly enjoy the Season!!!!!
I have already started to plan for Christmas next year, noting in my Christmas planner what worked, what didn't, things I would like to do differently next year, etc.....
Yes, I have a Christmas Planner and I hope that will be a Rudolph's Day post in the future...
I will not promise to post monthly on Rudolph's Day, the 25th of each month, here on my Christmas Blog because I have failed miserably to do so in years past but I do hope to get a few posts in during the coming year before November 1st when I will start posting here for the Holiday Season of 2021!!!!!
where I will be posting from here on in.......
And I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

I am linking up to these parties:
I'm starting to think that Joey needs his own puppy!! Your post reminds me of last January, when my daughter and I would just go to stores and hang out for no reason, just because we could. We went to Target, got two coffees at their Starbucks and then went to the area in the front with all the "stuff". The sign said 75% off and we loaded the carts. And when we got to the register - it all rang up at 90% off. They had not updated the sign. I bought so much; I can't imagine how much more I would have picked up at 90% off. And thank goodness I bought what I did. It all turned into 2020 stocking stuffers since I couldn't go out.
ReplyDeleteYour table looked so beautiful all set up for your New year's dinner. And that lasagna, oh but it looked good, and I bet it was. And to be able to see all three of those trees while eating. How beautiful. You make your house so special for you and your family during the holidays. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLove your table and those red dishes are my favs! Oh girl, that lasagna looks amazing but here it is 8:37 am and I am wanting lasagna now! LOL! Love those after Christmas sales. Especially if you catch some things for 75-90% off which I usually get in on the tail end of those sales. Enjoyed all the pictures. Happy New Year. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteLove those red dishes so pretty. Your new year's eve dinner of Lasagna looked so good. Making me hungry for Lasagna. You got some fun things from your sales for next year to add to your Christmas decor. Happy Wednesday xoxo Kris

ReplyDeleteYou got some nice finds, DEbbie. And your table looks lovely. I like the idea of the kisses at the place settings. I haven't made lasagna in a long time -- that looks delicious!
