I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas in the Craft Room, 2020

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I will be continuing my Christmas Home Tour today, sharing my Craft Room....

I want to Thank, Linda, over at Crafts A La Mode, for featuring my post, Happy Rudolph's Day, October,  from last week's Thursday Favorite Things Linky Party!!

 Thanks so much, Linda!!

Please stop by and link up to this charming party!!

Some Personal Notes......

We are now having more seasonal temps. here in NEPA and I am glad that I was able to get the front of our house decorated for Christmas when it was around 70 degrees but now that it is all decorated, bring on some snow to make it look like Christmas........

I moved inside the house and started to decorate our Dining Room after first taking down and packing away all of the Halloween decorations......

I do room by room when changing things over from one Holiday to the next......

After stripping everything down, the Dining Room looked like this.......

Yep!!  Looked like a bomb hit it!!!

On Day 2, it went from looking like this to this......

A few other sneak peeks of the Dining Room......

On Day 3 of decorating the Dining Room, Joe brought home the 7 ft. pencil Tree from our storage shed.....

Okay, a little Nurse humor here.....

YES!! That is a Body Bag!!!

What can I say????

It is perfect storage for Trees especially with the zipper!!!!!

Joe had to get a picture of me taking it out of the Body Bag......

On Day 3 of decorating the Dining Room, I finished the Tree.......

I am now starting the Kitchen......

Veteran's Day was this past week and I want to THANK all the Veterans both past and present for their service!!!!

My Dad was a Master Sargent in the Army during WWII, stationed in Italy for some time.....

My parents were married prior to my Father going overseas.....

Luckily, my Dad, along with his 4 brothers, all made it back after the War was over and went on to have families....

They truly were the "Greatest Generation"......

Look what I had Joe pick up for me in Target!!!

One pack of red and pink and one pack of green and aqua!!!

One can never have enough Bottle Brush trees especially when they come in these pretty colors, right?????

And on Friday, the 13th of all things, our son, Joey, ended his career with the Web Company that he worked for for over 12 years.....

Had nothing to do with the Pandemic but with a company Buy Out that occurred 2-3 years ago....

Joey was offered a job in Florida for double his salary and paid moving expenses but turned it down knowing that if he did , there was not going to be a continuance of his position here....

He would have been alone in Florida and he is like me in that he can not tolerate the heat.....

He keeps the central Air on in his apartment from March until the end of November!!

Plus he does not even know if this company will still exist a year from now!!

So Florida was definitely not for him.....

He did get an extremely generous severance package where he is set until the Summer months......

Being an IT specialist especially now in these times, we are not worried and feel he is going to go on to do bigger and better things......

He now will take a bit of time to relax and recharge.....

We are very proud of him and feel he will be able to find something even better!!

And now, to continue my Christmas Home Tour.....

In the first post on my Christmas Home Tour, I shared the upstairs Hall decorated with Angels and my collection of Lusterware dishes.....

Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Next, I shared the Master Bedroom and upstairs Bathroom.....

Click HERE  if you missed that post......

Today, I will be sharing my Craft Room decorated for Christmas....

As I mentioned previously, I decorated the upstairs in October to get a head start.....

This is the wreath that I made to hang on the door to the Craft Room......

The Craft Room is decorated in green , pink and white and those are also the colors I chose for the Christmas decorations for this room.....

Hanging below it is a vintage looking tray.....

On the closet where most of my clothes are kept along with a few craft supplies hangs this Avon  Calendar......

I bought it many years ago when my sons were young and they used to take turns moving the mouse each day......

I had embellished it a bit.....

Over in the corner is one of my shelf units where I store tubs of craft supplies......

You can see I have shelves on the wall which once housed my son Joey's electronics as this was his room.....

I happened to catch the Sun shining in the window around 4pm and I snapped a few pictures of it hitting the top of the shelf unit.....

It looked like the Tree was lit.....

Here it is in the evening......

The lamp and the lamp shade , which I embellished was my Mother's......

I bought the Angel at a yard sale......

The pink house is from Dollar Tree which I painted pink a few years ago......

Hanging on this side of the shelf is an Angel I bought many years ago from a crafter in Belevidere, NJ.....

In the middle......

The wood angels I made and placed them on 2 candle holders.....

I bought the Angel in the middle at a craft fair from a crafter I know.....

I bought the pink angel at a yard sale and the Santa is a Home Interiors figurine......

On the other end of the shelf is a battery lit Tree that I bought in J.C. Penney's a few years back.....

It is topped with an Angel....

And decorated with pink and green ornaments and beaded garland cut and hung like icicles.....

I saw that done one time in a Christmas store and liked the idea.....

Another Dollar Tree house that I painted pink and a small putz house that i bought in JoAnn Fabrics....

Hanging on this end of the shelf is a green snowflake and a stocking ornament.....

Again, I took this picture of the chandy above my work table when the Sun was shining into the room......

Here is the light fixture that I bought at an estate sale and wired through a chandy that I stripped the wiring out of......

On the side of my work table is the larger Tree in this room.......

You may remember that I keep this 6 ft. pencil Tree up year round in my Craft Room.....

This is how it looked in the Summer, decorated with roses, tea cups, cup cakes and ice cream cone ornaments....

I stripped it down but left the 2 different kinds of beaded garland on it....

I also decided to leave the pink and green branches that I normally use only in the Summer on the Tree....

I started by adding solid pink and green ornaments that I call filler ornaments by tucking them inside the branches of the tree......

You can also see that I have wrapped the inside of the Tree with a pink and white sheer ribbon to reflect the lights....

Here it is all finished in the day time without the lights on......

And here it is all lit up......

I topped it with an Angel, white feathers and a bow made from pink and white striped ribbon.....

The streamers are actually pink and white striped ribbon for sewing that I bought at an estate sale.....

I decorated it with green, pink and white ornaments and tucked pink and white striped poinsettias bought in Dollar Tree into the Tree......

Special ornaments on this Tree are 2 pictures of my Dad holding each of my sons on their first Christmas.....

My Dad holding our oldest son Joey.....

Joey was almost one year old in this picture as his Birthday is December 29th....

And my Dad holding our younger son Jimmy......

Jimmy was only 3 weeks old in this picture as his Birthday is December 7th.....

I know...bad planning even though Joey's due date was the end on January and jimmy was christened on his due date!!!

Each were born 3-4 weeks early.....

This pretty spider ornament was gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie.....

This is the Legend of the Christmas Spider....

These ornaments grace this Tree year round....

At the bottom of the Tree.....

I love crafting in this room when this Tree is lit which is every time I am in here.....

In the other corner, also on top of a shelf unit......

On a small rolling drawer unit is this little Tree that I decorated......

Again, keeping with the pink, green and white color theme.....

These shelves were above my son's bed where he kept books, VHS tapes at the time and other things....

I have some of my pretties displayed on them.....

Originally the "kidney" table that my Dad built for my Mother, which is where my Sewing Machine is kept on top of, was under these shelves but I moved it to the side so I could fit in another shelf unit to hold tubs of craft supplies and so that I would be able to see the TV when I was sewing.....

The lamp to the right above is on the table with my sewing machine....

This is a window mirror that I bought at a flea market.....

You can see I decorated the berry garland that hangs on top of the mirror normally.......

I set up a little village on the top of this shelf......

Again, another lamp that was my Mother's......

The pink and white house was bought at Cracker Barrel.....

All the figures were bought at a church Flea Market......

I bought this pink church many years ago at Target for 75% off ..........it cost a mere $5.00!!

I made the pink tree last year out of wooden spoons that you get with ice cream dixie cups......

If you want to read that post, click HERE......

There is a small candle light on top of a white wood candle holder......

I found this glass shade in my stash and it fit on top of the candle light perfectly......

And on a table by the door.......

Is where I chose to display what I call my "Screaming Meamies" Christmas picture this year.....

I amazingly found the frame at a church Flea Market......

" Friendly and full of love, December's Child is a gift from above"!

Neither one of my sons cared for getting their picture taken with Santa Claus even though they were both December babies........

After 3 years of "Screaming Meamie" pictures, I just quit!!!

They did like the Easter Bunny though!!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my Craft Room decorated for Christmas.....

I did not share the entire room because right now, it looks like craft supplies threw up all over the room!!

Who said a craft room is supposed to be neat !!

It took me 2 days to decorate my Craft Room...

You can click HERE to see a post I did a few years ago about the Craft Room if you like.......

Next up on my Christmas Home Tour will be the Sitting Room......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Your craft room looks gorgeous, Debbie! I love all the pink! I was beginning to think that it didn't look like a craft room and should be called something else until you mentioned not showing the entire room because the rest was messy with craft items. My craft room stays a wreck 365 days a year! I'm sure you will get it together for all of it to look beautiful! I admire and envy your talent for decorating. I'm worn out doing just one tree! Happy holidays to you!

  2. Thank you to your dad for his service. I'm sorry about your son's job loss. Wishing him well in finding a new position! Meanwhile, I first read the title to your post as Christmas in the Chat Room. Is that 2020 or what!

  3. Hi, Debbie. This was such a wonderful and inspiring post. I have enjoyed seeing all of your rooms decorated for Christmas. Though you start in October, I think you are very fast about getting all of your Christmas treasures perfectly arranged. Your attention for detail is inspiring. I get so many ideas from your post that I would like to try in the future like painting some DT homes and the wooden spoon tree. Thank you for sharing your home and your talents . And thank you for your dad's service as well. Looking forward to your next post. Hugs, Melisa

  5. My heavens you have been busy. I have got my Thanksgiving decorations out and will put up some things this week in other rooms but have to clean a couple rugs first. I want to put lights up outside. Lovely pink in you craft room and I like green a lot now too. I even like that bright green ribbon. I have to get in the mood. I think your post put me in one.

  6. Much of my stuff goes in the same place, too. It's where it fits -- there isn't a lot of room to move furniture around or store it elsewhere. I love the bottle brush trees, especially. They're something I like a lot too.

I hope your son finds a new and right position very soon. I'm sure he will.

  11. Absolutely gorgeous Debbie! I love the pink tree. The striped ribbon is perfect. I especially love the one you made with the spoons! Such a fun room and I totally agree with you about doing the same thing each year. It is like seeing old friends! I also always think if it's not broke then don't fix it! Can't wait to see the kitchen! Have a great week.

  14. Dear Debbie, this was a great post for me to catch up to what you have been doing. I'm going to follow your lead and put up a Doll tree in the bedroom. I found a soft green skinny table top tree...and can't wait to do that next week. Loving all your sweet touches...decorate away my dear, waiting breathlessly for the Nelson House? Hugs, Sandi
