I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas Crafting

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I know that I promised to share the upstairs Sitting Room decorated for Christmas as my next post but I wanted to share some Christmas crafting that I have been doing first.....

Thanks, Bev, over at Eclectic Red Barn, for choosing my post, Angels in the Upstairs Hall, Christmas Home Tour, as one of her features from last week's Over the Moon Linky Party!!!

Thanks so much, Bev!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!!

In my previous post, I shared how I decorated my Craft Room for Christmas in the colors of pink, green and white.......

Some Personal Updates......

I have been decorating the Kitchen since my last post......

Again, I have gone with my gingerbread and candy theme for the Kitchen......

You can see there is a pot on the stove......

Joe made a pot of chili, which he hasn't made for a long time......

He used canned tomatoes that our niece Renae had given us and even though I can not eat a lot of it because of my IBS, it tasted so good!!!

Decorating the Kitchen lead to a make over.......

You may remember that I showed this in my post, New Buys for Christmas and Beyond......

Click HERE if you missed that post.......

I am not a fan of red and black buffalo check for my Kitchen for Christmas.....

I do use it in the Kitchen for Winter decorations......

I decided that I would do a little makeover....

Do you ever buy something because it catches your eye and have no idea what you are going to do with it?????

That was the case when I bought 2 pieces of the red and white striped foam when our local A.C. Moore was going out of business a few years back...

I know it was under a $1.00 a piece......

I wanted a brighter and redder color to the writing so I put Joe to work with a red marker going over the letters and snowflakes.....

I traced the candy canes on paper so I could cut out new ones from the foam......

Again, I looked in my craft stash and found this green tinsel trim that I had bought in Sam's Club a few years back on Clearance after Christmas.....

I like the pop of color the green tinsel gave it.....

Here is where I hung it.......

Fits my Kitchen so much better.....

Now I am happy with it......

You may also remember that I bought these 2 muffin pans in Dollar Tree.....

I saw several craft projects on Pinterest using these that caught my eye.....

When we had unseasonably warm temps. in the 70's a few weeks ago, I took advantage of that time to do a little spray painting......

I had these things outside of a number of years now....

Here they are last year with a little bit of ice on them after a storm.....

Since I had the red can of spray paint out, I gave them a fresh coat of paint......

I topped them off with small evergreen wreaths that I had and wired a few pine cones to them.....

I like them so much better now!!!

I also spray painted my 2 muffin pans......

One I wanted to use in a Christmas project and the other will be used for a Winter decoration project....

I used the same red and white striped foam, cutting circles and gluing them to the inside of the indents in the pan.....

This was my inspiration picture on Pinterest......

I bought these mini ornaments last year for a small Tree in the Kitchen....

They were the perfect size ......

I picked which ones I wanted to use.....

I then glued mini snowflake ornaments that I had used on the Tree in the Powder Room and some mini wreaths from my stash.....

I also used some of these pom poms that I bought in Dollar Tree....

I am happy with how it came out but I wanted to take it one more step.....

This was my Pinterest inspiration photo....

Again, I went to my stash to find a wreath that would work on one of my cabinet doors in the Kitchen.....

I bent it in the form of an oval so I could open the doors on each side of where I would hang the wreath....

This is the wreath that I hung on the cabinet doors for Fall.....

I had already made this wreath several years ago and it fit perfectly....

It was easy to attach the muffin pan to the wreath by just threading a piece of the wreath through the holes at the top and bottom of the muffin pan......

I made a bow for the wreath from ribbon that I had......

I then added 2 cloth gingerbread people ornaments that I had along with 2 copper cookie cutters, green peppermint candy ornaments from Dollar Tree.....

And some sugared apple picks and some ornaments that look like ribbon candy.......

I attached a piece of white ribbon to it so I could hang it to the inverted Command Hook on the inside of the cabinet....

I can open both doors on each side of the wreath with no problem.....

I think it fits perfectly with the rest of the Christmas decor in the Kitchen......

I will be using the other muffin pan to make a Winter wreath for the Kitchen.....

Stay tuned.....

I also played with some florals in the Dining Room.....

As fate would have it, I could not find the floral arrangement that I made for the funeral basket that I change with every Holiday......

I still can not find it.....

So I once again looked through the 2 tubs of Christmas greenery and flowers that I have down our Storage Shed and came across 6 white branches that I bought on Clearance in Michael's at 90% way back when.......

Again, they were something that called to me even though I had no idea of what I was going to do with them.....

This is what I finally thought of.....

The 6 white branches worked perfectly and I added a few sparkly picks that I decided not to use on the Tree in the Powder Room..........

I also added 2 pink stems and a single pink frosted rose which reminds me of the story of the Christmas Rose.....

I did a few more floral projects for the Dining Room.....

I used to make centerpieces for Craft Fairs that I participated in as a vendor several years back......

You may remember that I shared in a previous post that I was thrilled to find a green cemetery candle in Dollar Tree......

I started by gluing a Dollar Tree vase to a Dollar Tree charger......

I found a wreath that would slide over the vase and cover the charger.....

I then added a bunch of florals from my stash to the evergreen wreath......

This is what it looks like on the table with a pink tablecloth......

See the green cemetery candle that easily fit in the vase.......

You can also put a battery operated candle inside the vase......

If you don't want to use this as a centerpiece or if you want to use a different wreath for the centerpiece, you can also use this one as just a Wreath......

I plan on making other wreaths for the different Holidays to use on the centerpiece base.....

I had some of the florals that I used left over so I decided to embellish a plain small wreath, making it into a candle ring for a sled.......

It fits perfectly in the sled but I think I have to look for a taller candle......

And in the above picture you can see where I put it.......

And one last project......

This tin pocket has graced my front porch for quite a few years....

This year, I decided to replace it with something new out front.....

I bought this last year at Big Lot's and used it in the Den but now, I moved it outside.....

So it was only fitting that I moved this one into the Den......

Again, I pulled several florals from my stash and did a new arrangement inside the pocket......

I had 2 bunches of a grape like pick that I cut apart and used the ivory balls in the arrangement.....

I hung it on the back door......

And that is all the crafting that I have been doing.....

I must say that I am decreasing my craft stash which is a good thing because I had so many things left over from when I was selling my crafts online and at local craft fairs....

I have been asked that since I am retired will I return to being a Craft Vendor and selling at local craft fairs again.......

The answer is NO!!!!

There is a lot involved in doing so like having adequate inventory if you do back to back shows...

Also transportation and set up and then having to tear down and pack up all within a few hours....

And sitting for several hours on a Saturday or Sunday waiting to see if someone buys your merchandise....

I did well but it became another full time job and I already had one and now, I am retired and I don't ever want another job again!!!

So I will just craft for myself and for family and friends....

In my next post, I will be sharing the Sitting Room all decked out for Christmas in a vintage theme.......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  1. I loved seeing your Christmas decorations---so cheerful. I really liked all your crafts, but oh... that muffin pan was darling! My finery is waiting impatiently in the wings. Maybe today after I pack up most of my Autumn things. My eyes sent a smile straight to my heart when I saw that pink and green because that was my grandma's favorite color combination, and I always think of her when I see it. Take care and enjoy your pretty home... I think Chili might be my favorite meal! Yours looks delish!

  3. I love the idea of a peppermint kitchen. I can't do any shopping this year (okay, fessing up - I snuck into Walmart yesterday fully masked. Nothing sparked my fancy. And then my Dollar Tree still had Christmas in boxes in the aisles). But I am thinking about next year - a hot chocolate and peppermint theme! Maybe I will be able to go to an antique mall and find a small muffin tin. That wreath is adorable!

  11. What amazing decorations. I love the different themes. I don't think most people understand the work involved in craft shows. It is a tough market. DH and I used to help a few local groups set up and take down and I always was impressed by the amount of work people put into their tables. Especially when you can never be sure who will show up.
