I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas Tablescapes and After Christmas Buys, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

Today, I will be sharing a few of my Christmas Tablescapes and a few After Christmas Clearance Buys.......

And this will be my last post on this Blog for this Christmas Season......

But first, I want to Thank, Cecelia, over at My Thrift Store Addiction, for choosing my post, Christmas at Country Folk Gifts, Part 1, as one of her features from last week's Vintage Charm Linky Party!!!
Thanks so much, Cecelia!!

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!

I do hope to post here monthly for Rudolph Day which is the 25th of each month, starting in February, but I promised this in the past and have failed at it miserably......

Hopefully, since I am now Retired, I can try to keep up with this promise.....

Here in NEPA, a lot of Eastern European immigrants settled here and many of their traditions and Religious beliefs that they brought here with them, are still followed......
One of them is celebrating Epiphany, which is the Feast of the 3 Kings, in the Catholic Church.....

Tradition is to keep up one's Christmas decorations until this date, which is January 6th.......

We went shopping last weekend to a Mall about 25 minutes away from where we live and I found something that caught my eye in a little shop.....

Which enabled me to do something that I had wanted to do for quite some time.......

I did a simple Tablescape celebrating Epiphany, The Feast of the 3 Kings......
These are what I bought in that little shop......
3 Kings!!!!

And they are Vintage ones to boot....
Candle Sticks!!!

They were 50% off so the 3 Kings cost me $6.00!!
My $1.00 a piece Christmas Tree Shop white dishes with gold trim, another set of gold flatware, only a serving for 2, that I bought at a yard sale!!
A gold charger plate and crystal goblets.....
White angels......
I borrowed Baby Jesus from the Nativity Set in the Dining Room......
And the Noel ornament off a table in the Living Room......
I also did a few other simple Tablescapes for Christmas and I featured them at the end of of my Christmas posts so you might have missed them.......

So I thought I would share them one more time......

This is the table that I set when our friends Tony and Anne Marie visited for Christmas......
This is the table I set when our friend Mary came over for lunch......
For Christmas Eve......
Christmas Day.....
A simple one for New Year's Eve when we had Lobster tails that Joe made......
I have had these Butter Warmers for almost 40 years.....
And for New Year's Day dinner of Lasagna.......
I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the tablescapes that I did during the Christmas Season......

Before I show you what I bought after Christmas, I want to show you what I bought in Gabes before Christmas.....
I bought 2 of these dinner plates and I could kick myself for not buying 2 dessert plates....

I have already put these to use in the Den as part of my Winter decor......
I really did not go out right after Christmas shopping for Clearance deals......

I was trying to be good and I gave Joe strict instructions not to buy anything either because he could be much worse than I am when it comes to buying After Christmas Clearance Sales!!!

I waited a few days and then went out, knowing there would not be too much left out there to tempt me......

I found these dessert plates in Target for $1.00 each......
 They are melamine......

There wasn't much left there and it was only a few days after Christmas Day.....

My son Jim said that people were like a bunch of Vultures the day after Christmas......

I laughed because I used to be one of those Vultures!!

I also bought 3 bundles of these for $5.00 a piece.....
I plan on using them in my outside pots next Christmas and Winter Season with greenery that we cut from the woods because I will be passing my Christmas topiaries that I made from tomato cages on to my niece Renae.....

I also bought these bags of snow balls for Winter decorating.....
They were $2.50 a bag.....

And I bought this battery operated Tree with my doll house in mind.....
I then went to Dollar General and found these dinner plates for $1.00 each.....
 They are also melamine......

Since I finally have the time to do some tablescaping, my interest is peeked by dishes again!!

Of course, I had to see how all these plates would look together.....
I am really looking forward to doing more Christmas tablescapes next year.....

I also bought these in Dollar General for 50% off......
$1.00 for both....thought I would use them in the Den on my Winter trees......
And this ribbon for $1.00...
I use these ties for attaching my garland to the railing on the front porch.....
And this ribbon spoke to me at $2.00 !!
We then went to Gabes and they were all picked out but I did find these 2 bird houses for $2.00 each!!
And this sweet figure was not on sale because it was considered Winter decor.....

We also stopped in Boscov's and I bought these!!

This tablecloth was under $2.00 at 75% off and using a coupon for $10 off $50.....
I plan on using this to make a Winter curtain and valances for the Kitchen.....

It is cheaper than buying fabric!!

This one was also under $2.00 ......
And this pretty one was under $3.00!!
I think this will look nice with those dishes that I bought, don't you????
I just loved these sweet Santa's for only $5.00 each at 75 % off!!
The larger Santa's that I had here, which are more of a burgundy color, will be moved out to the Den next year......

These are more the color red that I have used in the Living Room.....
And this sweet one was only $4.00!!
And I could not resist this adorable penguin for $4.50!!
Perfect for Winter decor!!

Joe found these for when we go to our great niece's soccer games.......
Backs to use on Bleachers!!

And....

Are you ready for this????

They were 25 cents each!!!

I kid you not!!!

And that ends my final post for this Holiday Season on my Christmas Blog!!!

It was a great Holiday Season where I decorated to my heart's content, entertained both friends and family, got to cross a few things off my annual Christmas Bucket List and just enjoyed the entire Season without having to worry about working for the first time in 41 years!!!

Have I mentioned how much I am loving retirement???????

As I mentioned in the beginning of this post, I do hope to try to do some sort of post related to Christmas here monthly, starting in February, on Rudolph Day which is the 25th of each month......

As I said.....I will "try".....

I do have one started for February 25th where I will share a few ornaments that I bought to use for other seasons and holidays though out the year....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

  2. Hi Deb: I always look forward to what you find after Christmas!! And this year you did not disappoint. I have those same white and red dishes with the snowman ( only I bought just 2 of the dessert plates) and will be putting them on the shelves of the hutch when the dining room gets put back in shape. Still have a ways to go. I do think that little penguin is just so adorable..Have a great week..xxoJudy

  4. I really enjoyed seeing all of your tablescapes and your after Christmas bargains! Loved the pointsettia tablecloths. I am an after Christmas shopper--bargain shopping is my super power; God puts me in the right places sometimes (Like in Pier 1 just after they marked Christmas stuff down to 90% off! Stuff flew off those shelves! I am glad to hear that you use tablecloths for curtains; I have used thrifted ones to make cloth gift bags (esp for my church's bazaar!). I am waiting to hit Kohl's for clearance; haven't been yet!

    1. Kathy,
Thanks again for stopping by!! I really tried not to buy too many things after Christmas because I already have so much but since I did pass on some things to family , I had a bit more room for new things! LOL!! I remember the time that I stumbled upon 90% off at Target on my way home from work one year...They have over ordered Christmas things that year and were bringing out boxes filled with things that were never put out during the Christmas season!! I was there for 3 hours with a fun group of people who were anxiously awaiting the next cart of unopened boxes to be brought out!! Had so much fun and bought so many things for very little cost!! That happened one time after Easter at Michael's too!! I did buy some ornaments that I will be using at other times of the year which I will be posting about soon..
      Hugs,
      Deb

  5. Debbie, it was fun to see your different Christmas tablescapes. Thanks for sharing. The green pottery, Ole Curiosity Shop, was in my childhood home. I ate many a meal off those patterns. One of my nieces has Mother's pottery now, or what is left of it. She likes to use it at Christmas.
