Today, I am sharing the Christmas decorations in the Craft Room......
But first, I want to Thank Barb, over at French Ethereal, for featuring my post, Late Fall Front Porch and Yard Update over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog, from last week's Share Your Style Link Party!
Thanks so much, Barb!!!
Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!
I decorate every room in our townhouse for Christmas pretty much according to the color of each room, which is different for every room, and in a different theme in each room......
So I am not really able to exchange decorations between rooms, changing up my Christmas Decor on a yearly basis like a lot of other Bloggers do.....
I do try to change things up here and there and as I pass things on to family, I have bought a few new things but to me, My Christmas decorations are like Old Friends that I have not seen in some time.....
Many were gifted to me by family and friends or were something that caught my eye that enabled me to recall a wonderful memory from my childhood......
So I do not change themes or follow what the newest trend is....
I admit that I did fall for that mind set in the Kitchen for the past few years, trying to incorporate the burlap, then chalkboard and the Farmhouse red truck craze that finally started to take hold here last year even though it had been big for a few years throughout the country.....
In a later post, you will see in the Kitchen that I went back to my roots and decorated solely in a candy, gingerbread and cookie theme and also changed up quite a bit of things.......
But for today, we will take a look in my Craft Room........
Without buying anything new, I did change up a few displays.......
I hang a wreath that I made on the door of every room and the Craft Room is no different.......
The Craft Room is decorated in pink, green and white to match the room........
So is this wreath......
See the green berries......
A few years ago, I found these pink and white poinsettias in Dollar Tree......
I tucked a Santa head in the center of the wreath.....
Attached to the bottom of the wreath is a tray with a Victorian scene on it that was gifted to me by my friend, Anne Marie.....
On the closet door, hangs this Avon Advent Calendar which is very nostalgic to me.......
My sons used to take turns moving the mouse until it was Christmas Eve.......
They would wake up each morning and run downstairs to the Den, where I used to display this, to move the mouse another day closer to Christmas......
Now I move the mouse but I have great memories......
Next to the closet......
Is the top of one of my shelf units in the Craft Room that I usually decorate for Christmas......
Hanging above it from the ceiling is a Guardian Angel wind chime that I thought as too pretty to put outside......
The pink houses were bought at Dollar Tree that I painted several years ago......
You can see that I stuck to the pink, white and green color theme......
In the center, is a sweet angel that I bought at a Craft Fair .......
I made the angels that are resting on top of candle holders.......
A white feather Tree is on the right side of the shelf......
An Angel is the topper......
I decorate this Tree with pink and green ornaments......
Many years ago, in a Christmas Shop, I saw where they cut beaded garland into small strings and draped them on the Tree like icicles.......
I did that with pink and green beads......
The Santa with the Angel was a Home and Garden party item.......
I strung a string of white globe like battery operated lights along the edge of the shelf......
This is the chandy above my craft table....
I actually hung a light fixture done through an old chandy that I had stripped of the wiring.....
In the corner next to my craft table......
The Tree stays up year round.......
My Summer "Treat" Tree......
Click HERE if you would like to see how I decorated this Tree for Summer......
I already bought a few more ice cream ornaments at Michael's for this Tree in the Summer.....
I stripped it down and redecorated it for Christmas......
An Angel also tops this Tree......
With a bow I made from pink and white striped ribbon and added white feathers.....
I only had enough ribbon for the bow so in looking around my craft room, I realized that I had pink and white striped ribbon so I used that as streamers coming down the Tree......
A pink and white Santa head always sits at the top of the Tree.....
I tucked a few of the pink and white poinsettias from Dollar Tree into the Tree.....
Most of the ornaments are Victorian in style.....
The Tree is decorated in pink, white and green like the rest of the room.....
A white mail box as Joe was a Letter Carrier.....
Victorian figure ornaments....
In the tea pot ornament is a picture of my Dad holding my youngest son Jim......
A Christmas Spider ornament that as gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie.....
This is the card that came with it explaining the legend of the Christmas Spider.....
I made this ornament out of a card board jewelry box.....
And this vintage fairy ornament was mine as a child......
This sweet mitten was gifted to me by a fellow Blogger many years ago.......
At the base of the Tree.....
An ice skate planter bought years ago at The Christmas Tree Shop.......
And a sweet bear and doll that sit here on this bench year round......
Next to the Tree is Joe's Paternal Grandmother's antique Singer sewing machine......
Other years, I did a little Christmas display here on this end......
But this year, I decided to leave my vintage sewing display as is and just added my "Screaming Meamie" Christmas picture of my sons......
They were both afraid of Santa when they were young so after 3 years of them screaming their heads off on Santa's lap, I just gave up!!
I was lucky enough to find the pink frame at a church flea market since both my sons have December Birthdays.........." Friendly and full of love, December's child is a gift from above"
My vintage sewing display......
Is another shelf unit......
The shelves above the unit.....
This room was my son Joey's room and we had put shelves above his bed for storage......
I left them there to display some of my "pretties" on......
Lights on.....
Over on a rolling drawer cart is another Tree.....
A small white Tree decorated with pink ornaments and a star.....
On top of the shelf unit.....
I decided to create a little village here......
I am going to be showing pics of both the lamps on and off......
A window mirror is hung above the shelf and the top is draped with a berry garland year round.....
For Christmas, I added green snowflakes and a bow made out of the pink and white striped ribbon.....
The lamps and shades, that I embellished, were my Mother's.......
You saw the other lamp on the previous shelf unit.....
I bought this sweet pink and white putz house in Cracker Barrel 3 years ago.....
The figures are vintage......
I moved this pink house over to this shelf unit this year from the other one where I usually displayed it.....
Many years ago, I bought 2 pink ones, a blue one and a silver one on Clearance at Target for 75% off which was $5.00 each!!!!!
I added Snow Tex to this one.....
You can see that I left my vintage embroidered linens on top of the shelf.....
I made this pink Tree from wooden ice cream spoons......
More cute figurines, all in white.........
The lamp on the far right is sitting on my sewing table where I have my Singer Sewing Machine that I actually use....
In the new year, I hope to show case more of my Craft Room over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog....
It took me 2 days to clean and decorate this room....
This week was the 20th Anniversary of the first Hockey Game at the Mohegan Sun Arena which is 5 minutes away from our house......
Joe was at that very first game after being part of the group Arena Yes that fought to have the Arena built here......
And he was there on the 20th Anniversary of the arena, wearing the original hockey jersey and his Arena Yes button.....
That attracted the attention of a local TV reporter who interviewed him!!!!!
Click HERE to see Joe's TV interview and 2 seconds of fame!!!!!!!!
We have been Season Ticket Holders of the Pittsburgh Pens AHL team since the Arena opened.........
Today, November 17, would have been my Dad's 100th Birthday!!
Not a day goes by that I do not think of him and miss him even though he has been gone for 32 years now, more than half my life!
This time of year, when I am decorating for Christmas, I feel his presence the most because he loved to decorate for Christmas and we did it together!!
This is the last photo taken of my Dad in Feb, 1987 before he passed away several days later at the age of 67 years old....
Please click HERE to read a Blog post I did earlier this year about how he made me the strong person I am today.....
I also want to wish my sister, Barb, a Happy Birthday, as she was born on my Dad's Birthday...
He always said that she was the Best Birthday gift that he ever got!!
I want to mention that November 16th would have been my Great Nephew Craig's 31st Birthday.....
I know that my Dad and Craig are celebrating their Birthdays together in Heaven......
In my next post, I will be continuing with my Christmas Home Tour, showcasing the last room upstairs, the Sitting Room.......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

Please take some time to visit these terrific hosts and all those joining in on the fun!
Gosh the 100th anniversary of your dad's birth! I love your memory photos.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love a pink Christmas. As you know, I am working on a Grinch Christmas for this year. I am thinking of a pink theme for next year. It is a great idea to paint those Dollar Tree houses pink. I might run up there today to see if they have some left. I mostly use the same decorations every year, just introducing a few new things. Last year it was the pickup trucks. They got me :) And this year I am making my own Grinch accents to thrill my young grandkids. Your craft room is so pretty!
It's always fun keeping the holiday traditions going, Debbie, and remembering all the wonderful family moments created and not going for what's trendy these days! Not unless you can incorporate them together. Most of the "trends" are nothing more than what was popular years ago. What goes around, comes around! They just keep re-circulating! Love your craft room decorations! Oh, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteIt's always a joy to see your pink Christmas. Everything looks fairy, especially the pink sweet village
ReplyDeleteHugs
I'm sorry for your losses. Sometimes the pain seems to never go away entirely. I love pink Christmas. All your cottages in pink and green are adorable. I like the white feather tree too.
ReplyDeleteHey Debbie!
ReplyDeleteYou know I love pink...That pink house/church is adorable and the feather tree is precious. My son and his cousin also had pictures with Santa like yours. Such sweet memories! I have my grandmother's old Singer in my bedroom, using it as a devotional table. My Mother sewed many clothes for my sister and me on it, way back in the day..
That is so cool about Joe!
Have a terrific day!
Blessings, Linda
Linda,
DeleteSorry it took so long to respond but this week was a busy week with appointments and other things, Thanks again for stopping by and for always taking the time to comment! I hope you are having a nice weekend!! It is raining and quite miserable here today...
Hugs
Deb
Very festive, Debbie. I like the pinks.

Hi Debbie, my boys used to scream too! Always the best pictures and memories.
ReplyDeleteI don't decorate anymore, we always spend the holiday with the grands at their house. My goal this year is to get all my Christmas boxes down and split all the old ornaments to the boys. It's time.
Barb
I love the pink! so pretty! I love the advent calendar, we have something like that!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up with us at Creative Muster! Pinned this :)
Blessings to you xoxoxo Sharon from Adoring Creations.
I have enjoyed this post very much. I took the time to look at everything in your sewing room but I couldn't find the sewing machine. I finally found the line that said a lamp was on the sewing machine, so all is right with the world. Seriously, everything in that room was spic and span and very pretty. I love all of the trees! I have managed to put up three, one in the great room, one in the dining room and one in the kitchen. And you have more than that in one room! I admire you for sure. Keep up the good work!!! Regina
ReplyDeleteRegina,
DeleteI am so sorry it took me this long to get back to you!! I could not find any other way to get in touch with you so I am doing so here... The actual sewing machine that i use in sitting on what they once called a "kidney" table which my Dad made for my Mom and she once used it as a vanity. I will show more of this room after the Holidays because i realized that i have not shared it in quite some time...
Thanks for stopping by!!
Hugs,
Deb
I'm loving all the pink, Debbie! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
