Rudolph Day is considered by some as the 25th of each month!!
This year has been a busy year and I did not live up to my promise to post something Christmas related on the 25th of each month, Rudolph Day......
For that I sincerely apologize.....
Soon I will begin my Christmas posts here on my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas, for this Holiday Season..........
You can check out all my Fall and Halloween posts over on my regular Blog , Debbie-Dabble Blog, if you like.....
Today, I wanted to share some of the projects I did over the Summer involving ornaments that can be used year round or for Christmas!!!
For the Patriotic Holidays of the Summer, I decided to embellished some ornaments to use on my Patriotic Summer Tree.......
I started off with some paper mache stars that I first painted......
Then decoupaged some flags on to them.......
And then embellished with stars , beads and tinsel trim to give them a bit of a nostalgic look.......
I also just painted some stars and added the trim and beads to these......
I made coasters that we received in the mail for contributing to a Veteran's Organization into ornaments too!!
I took plain red and silver ball ornaments and embellished them with a felt star trim to them......
These paper mache stars had vintage style tags glued onto them along with beads and trim.....
And I embellished these silver balls with red and blue star stickers!!
These ornaments can be also used for Christmas to decorate a Patriotic Christmas Tree.....
This is how my Patriotic Summer Tree looked......
In August, I decided to change my Patriotic Tree into an "Under the Sea" Tree......
My dear neighbor Elly, had amassed a huge collection of shells when she lived in Miami but since she is now in a Nursing Home with Alzhiemer's, her sons were going to throw them away!!
I said "O No!" and took all her shells........
I decided to create my own shell ornaments and got a few ideas from Pinterest and other sites......
I simply glued ribbon onto the shells to form a hanger.......
Added rhinestone trim......
And some bows made from ribbon......
And pieces of old costume jewelry......
To larger shells , I glued plastic tuffs of grass on them to mimic sea weed.......
I also made some sand dollars that I had in my stash into ornaments.......
I also painted some shells and embellished them with rhinestone trim......
I also embellished star fish with trim and parts of costume earrings.....
When I was looking at Christmas items online, I chuckled when I saw this ornament on the Pier One web site......
They sell for $5.95 each........
I also ordered wooden anchor and sea horse cut outs on Amazon......
I painted them aqua and embellished them with shells ........
I also found this ornament on the Pier One web site.....
It sells for $6.95......
I found these ornaments on Pinterest.......
I already had these ornaments so I decided to try to make my own.......
This is what I came up with......
I also filled these glass ornaments with small shells......
I made all the ornaments to decorate my "Under the Sea" Tree......
Last year, after Christmas, I bought these ornaments on Clearance.......
This past year, I also decorated a LED branch Tree that Joe bought on Clearance at Bed, Bath and Beyond..........
I decorated it for Easter with egg ornaments.......
For the Patriotic Summer Holidays with red, blue and silver balls......Also after Christmas, I bought these leaf ornaments........
I then decorated the branch Tree with these leaves and brown and copper ball ornaments for Fall......
Or be inspired to make some ornaments on your own by what you see online or in the stores......
Watch for after Christmas deals.......
I hope you enjoyed this month's Rudolph Day post......
Soon I will be starting to post here on a regular basis for Christmas.....
So I hope you will come by and visit again!!
And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
If you do not have a blog, PLEASE give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment. If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......
Hugs,
Debbie

You have a serious talent for making DIY tree ornaments. I have been pondering a new Christmas tree ornament for a month so I understand how much talent this takes. Great ideas.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness - you are prolific - and such beauties. I can't even begin to pick a favorite - and not even able to pick a favorite from each holiday. I always get inspired when I read your christmas blog - now is a good time to begin. I've been making some tiny plastic canvas gingerbread house ornaments. They are quite fun and relaxing to do - once I get the pieces cut from the plastic canvas. Have a grand weekend - and craft on!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas creations, Debbie! You are so talented, my friend! I LOVE the pretty stars, the amazing balls and the lovely coasters! The shell hangers are wonderful! And what a superb idea your "under the sea" tree. I just can't stop admiring your house!!!!! Have a nice weekend!!!!!!!
