I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Happy Rudolph Day! The History of the Christmas Card

It's the 25th of the month meaning it is Rudolph Day again!

I was looking through some of the old magazines that I have saved over the years and came across this one....

And I found this article that I thought I would share with you....

This is the history of the Christmas Card....

Please ENLARGE so you can read.....

Last year, Joe bought Christmas cards at Wegman's Grocery Store.

They were originally $16.00....

They were 50 cents a box!!

That is 96% off!!!!

What a deal!! I now have enough Christmas cards to last us for several years. I sent out about 65 cards each season and I keep picking them up on Clearance...

I was sent this a few years ago and I loved it so I thought I would share it with you:

Merry Christmas

" I have a list of folks I know, all written in a book
and every year at Christmas time, I go and take a look.

And that is when I realize that these names are a part , not of
the book they're written in, but of my very own heart.

For once, you've met somebody, the years cannot erase
the memory of a pleasant word or smiling, friendly face.

So never think my Christmas cards are just a mere routine
of names upon a Christmas List forgotten in between.

For when I send a Christmas Card that is addressed to you,
it's because you're on that list of folks that I'm indebted to.

And every year when Christmas comes, I realize anew,
One of the biggest gifts Life can give is meeting Folks like you!

And may the Spirit of Christmas that forever and ever endures
leave it's richest Blessings in the heart of YOU AND YOURS!! "

This was printed on Christmas computer paper with a matching envelope.
Another alternative to the traditional Christmas card!

It might be an idea for Christmas 2013.....

  1. Hi Debbie,
What a great deal on those cards! I hope we can spot a deal like that because this year, Hubby plans to give out Christmas cards to all of his customers. That will be almost three hundred cards this year and that is not counting those I send out personally! Charming post!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  3. You sure can't beat the deal your hubby found on those Christmas cards! You can't make them for that.

I've been trying to work on Christmas items for a mid-Fall craft show I do. I like to read your blog to help get me in that frame of mind.I've even had some of the books you've posted about in the Spirit of Christmas collection. I still have a few.

  8. I just love it when people put their whole heart and soul into decorating at Christmas. I'm always sad when I have to pack up my decorations... I feel my house is naked!
