Did you think I fell off the face of the Earth or what???????
I have been working and shopping!!!
I just feel the need to say one thing that I have noticed out in Blog Land...
I am seeing Bloggers who have already taken down and packed away their Christmas decorations!!!!!!
REALLY??????
Are you kidding me?????
Before New Year's??????
Maybe it is just the area where I live but we do not hurry Christmas away here.
It is a predominately Catholic area and many still leave up Christmas Decorations until the Feast of the Three Kings or The Epiphany. It occurs on the 12th day of Christmas which is Jan. 6th this year.
That is when the Christmas Season is officially over in the Catholic Church.
And we also have a large population of people who still celebrate Russian Orthodox Christmas which is Jan. 7th this year.
My parents used to keep up the Christmas decorations until The Feast of the Three Kings but in later years, took them down after New Year's Day. But I truly can not even imagine celebrating New Year's without any Christmas decorations!!
I guess for some people when it is over, it is really over! I won't be getting mine down until about the 3rd week of Jan.

I actually started hitting the Christmas Clearance sales before Christmas because many stores had their Christmas merchandise reduced to 50 and 60 % off the week before Christmas!!
J.C. Penney's had a fantastic sale that started with 60% off Christmas which was a Martha Stewart Collection and then they had these coupons on top of that!!
This is what I bought there.......
Loved these Gold Trees with Battery operated LED lights......
And look at these bottle brush trees!!
And cute owl ornament that I plan on using for an Autumn Tree.
The gold trees were originally $60 each but I ended up paying only $25 for both!!!
And the Bottle Brush Trees and ornament came out to only $13.96!!
Now I did buy other things there that I showed you in my last post but I think they deserve to be seen again!!
This cute Bear Nutcracker!!
All these red and white Candle Ornaments that I plan on using on my Living Room Tree next year......
This white glass cone tree.....
And I went back after Christmas when everything was 75% off and bought this white Tree
And these ornaments ......
Big Lots also had many of their things at 50 % off before Christmas and this is what I bought there.....
I plan on using these green and purple ones in my upstairs bathroom on a Tree and I plan on making a wreath too.
I went back to Big Lot's after Christmas when everything was 50 % off and bought these.......
Love the Pink LED Lights!!
Then I went to Walmart for 50% off ........
This is what I bought there.....
The little white trees were 37 cents each!!
Warm White LED lights with White wires for my white tree!!
These were only $2.98
These green trees were $1.00 each
And they have Deco Mesh at WalMart!!
I bought 2 different colors of Burlap Deco Mesh for $4.00 each...
Then I went to Dollar Tree where all their Christmas merchandise was 50% off.....
This is what I picked up there.....
Recipe cards....
Snow Flakes and Candy Sticks.....
More candy ornaments....
Everything was 50 cents each....
Joe bought these 2 reels of Warm White LED lights in Sam's Club for only $9.91 each.....
One is white wire.....
Then Joe went shopping at Wegman's and things were marked down 50 - 75 % off there.....
When I woke up in the afternoon after working all night this is how he put everything out for me to see!!
The Tea Pot had no lid so he talked the Manager down to $2.00!!!
Now did I teach him well or what!!
I wanted to go shopping right after work the day after Christmas but I ended up coming straight home.
I wanted a White Christmas and I got it unexpectedly the day after Christmas!!
Not one Weatherman had called for this and since it was the day after Christmas, no roads were plowed and I slid through every red light on my way home!!
It did look pretty though, didn't it??
So I did go out the next morning after work......
I hit Target for 50% off........
I had a good time there!!
These pretty pink ornaments were $2.00 each....
The Lollipops were $1.00 each and the cord was $2.99
Love these LED Battery operated lights.......
The purple will be used in my upstairs Bathroom next year and the red ones in the Kitchen
These were $3.50 each..
More pink LED lights!!
The ribbon is going to be used in my Guest Room next year.....
Along with these ornaments......
Flameless candles on a Timer for $5.00 each and more lights.....
Peppermint Candy ones for the Kitchen.....
Love these clear wire LED lights at $4.00 each.....
Blue ones for my Powder Room......
This was in the Smith and Hawkins section and was marked down to only $5.58
More ornaments there.....
Then Joe went to Walmart on Sunday.....
Thomas Kinkaid Party Invitations!!
He went back to Wegman's and these were 75% off.....
I love them!!
Today on my way home from work I stopped in at Target and they had gone down to 70% off!!
I had been holding out for this!!
I was there for 2 hours as they brought pallets out of the back and were restocking the shelves!!
More ornaments!!
The brown ones for my Autumn Tree, the blue will be for my Den tree and the silver and black will be for my silver Halloween tree!
These will go in the Powder Room....
Those little tree toppers were 30 cents each!!
More of the mini LED battery operated lights but warm white clear ones which were not out for 50% off! They were now $2.25 each!!
The color of the ornaments in that big box that came down to $3.98 are the colors that I will be using on my white tree in the guest room next year.....
The little ornaments will be for 2 small white trees that I bought.....
Aqua tinsel garland was 60cents!!
And look at those bird ornaments!!
No more pink ornaments but I found one in green and another Clock ornament for $1.00 each!
The head light was $1.48!
CD's were only $2.99!
The Scissors were $1.50 !
I also bought some nice garland at Big Lots with 3 different types of evergreen branches on it for $5.00 each and a 3 piece set of 2 three foot trees in urns and a matching lighted garland for $18 on Thanksgiving Day.
Now is the time to stock up for next Christmas and to think about how you can use things for other Holidays or year round.
I still have to hit Michael's and Walmart when they drop to 75 % off because I want more Deco Mesh!!
I will be checking there tomorrow.....
I hope you enjoyed seeing what Joe and I bought!!
I am off Monday and Tuesday night for New Year's Eve!
Joe will be making Lobster along with shrimp, scallops and chicken fingers. The kids are coming.... And I make a vat of lasagna for New Year's Day which the kids also come for!! I will be working New Year's Day night......
Wishing you and Yours a very Happy and Healthy New Year!!!

Hi Debbie, You found some amazing deals. May I ask where you store it all? When do you start decorating? I can't wait to see where it all ends up next year.
ReplyDeleteYou found so many blingy treasures for next Christmas and the next decade of Christmases, I think. All that sparkle makes this gal smile.
ReplyDeleteOh, Debbie, you found some great bargains!
ReplyDeleteFollowing your lead I also went out today- Christmas Eve, 10.50 pm already here, but earlier today my daughter and I got some great stuff- I can see I will have to start a blog to share it with you. You have enthused me!
Thank you so much!
I LOVE checking out your pretties!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you are your family!!!
Julie :)
You are always good a catching the deals. I love that gold Martha tree and those bottle brush trees. What fun! We hit up Target yesterday to purchase more Christmas lights on clearance. I was surprised at how much was still there at 75% off. Wishing you a very blessed 2014! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI so love your zest for life and decorating, so many people have lost that. I can't bear to take down my tree either, so many of my friends have taken it all down. We are not Catholic but I might just follow your lead and wait until Jan 7.
ReplyDeleteann
I'm thinking some of your treasures will also be made into some of the fabulous crafts that you sell. Happy New Year to you and your family and may you be blessed.♥♫
ReplyDeleteDebbie, THANK YOU!!! I have been thinking the same thing: that everyone in the land of blog is RUSHING to get their Christmas decorations down!!!!!!!! Why can't we enjoy it for awhile???? I hate feeling the pressure to keep up and get it down, and I'm not giving in:):) You sure got some GREAT bargains. I went to Kirklands the day after Christmas and got 74% off and found JUST what I wanted for next year. I have hit walmart and Big Lots too. have to get to Penneys. WISH I had a Wegmans near me:( Wishing you and Joe a VERY happy New Year!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletethat should have been 75% off:):)
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing deals. Will be looking forward to your house tour next Christmas for sure.
ReplyDeleteI have managed just Wal-Mart this year and our Meijers Store. Would have come home with a 7 1/2 foot frosted tree yesterday if George had not been with me.
May run to Hobby Lobby today. I won the tree decorating contest at the Senior Center this year and first prize was a HL gift certificate. Might just spend it on Christmas items.
George has been laid off but goes back to work Monday so I want to really go through my Christmas items as I take care of things this year and do lots of condensing and sharing with my girls.
This year I, as you did not get a lot of the decorating done . Just got up 5 of the trees, a few wreaths, my snowmen and a few Santas. Going back to work 3 days has left me in a bit of a slow pace til I get used to working again.
Even without all the glitz and glamour we had a wonderful Christmas and I am looking forward to the excitement of the New Year and the oldest Granddaughters wedding in July and the birth of another Great Grandbaby.
Enjoy your evening off tonight and I hope that you have a wonderful New Year filled with many Blessings.
I am always amazed at the deals you find! We stopped at Hobby Lobby and they had 80% off this week, and scored a few myself. You table is beautiful and dinner for two is always the most special! Wishing you and Joe a very happy and healthy happy New Years!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great Buys and Christmas is just the other day. It makes me wonder every year you get great deals, will there ever be enough?
ReplyDeleteYou are super shopper extraordinaire!! Wow, I gotta sit down and catch my breath--but you've inspired me; I'm going out tomorrow to get me some bargains :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted about blogland taking down Christmas decorations too early. Reading some of those blogs, I wonder if its the decorating that is enjoyed more than the actual holiday because it seems to be such a rush to decorate for the next event. Its so nice to sit here tonight, having had a nice dinner, and enjoy the ambience of our still decorated house. Congratulations on all the bargains you scored in the after holiday sales. Now I wish I had gone to JC Penney because I love that cone tree. Not to mention all the other goodies. Happy New Year. Kati
ReplyDeleteWow! It looks like you got a lot of really great deals. I need to go to Burlington.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and Happy New Year! Thank you so much for linking up at: 1st Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop “2014″.

Hi Debbie, you and hubby got some really great deals on everything! I just love all the bright colors you chose for the ornaments and the trees! I know how you feel about the Christmas decorations! I was walking my dog the day after Christmas and I saw a real Xmas tree thrown on the side of the road for the garbage! I feel like they are throwing out baby Jesus! Oh well! I wish you and your husband a Happy and Healthy New Year! You amaze me with working too!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Julie
You got some pretty things. I didn't make it out to find any "new" things but did get a couple of vintage Christmas things from thrifts at least. Thanks so much for joining my History & Home party, the very best to you in 2014 -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
ReplyDeleteOh Debbie.....

You do not have to worry about taking decorations down early at my house. Just me, did not put up any. I just visit you and enjoy yours.
ReplyDeleteI love those after Christmas sales and you really stocked up! Lots of gorgeous ornaments and lights! Thanks for sharing at TTF!
ReplyDeleteWhew! You made out. And, I didn't hit a single store this year. May I come shopping at your house?
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, Debbie.
I picked up a few things after christmas. We take down ours on New Year's Day, since we go back to work the day after. My hubby used do Epiphany, so I made a Epiphany countdown clock. Takes up little space. I do 2 trees, a regular one, and a "chicken" one. I do urban homesteading and a blogger pal crochets chickens and gifted me with some. I find a lot of new things thrifting, much cheaper. What I would wonder about is where do you store all of this off-season? That's a lot of stuff... Nancy
Look at all the gorgeous stuff you got girl! I picked up those pink ornies like you got at Burlington ...and I also got the 12" tall Mrs Santa that went with that collection... 75% off! Can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had time to post my after Christmas treasures yet, if I don't hurry up, it will be too late!
Hugs, Penny
Hi Debbie,
ReplyDeleteOh my! You and hubby are such bargain shoppers! I love the turquoise and pink new decorations. I am trying to stay away from buying more this year because I don't know where to put them all during the year. I meant to tell you that all of your Christmas trees were gorgeous and the snow view from your balcony should be on a postcard! So pretty! Thank you for visiting me and I wish you the best of everything in 2014! Happy New Year Dear Friend!
Karen
Oh my GOODNESS, Debbie, what a haul you have from the sales! You could decorate a small apartment just with what you've bought in the last few days! Congrats on finding so many great buys!

Finally catching up on your post-Christmas haul. You sure do have your hubby trained! Very sweet of him! You got some FANTASTIC deals! I was disappointed, in my area nothing went beyond 50% off. I even was checking out Christmas stuff last week - well into Jan! Oh well! Still some great deals to be had. You are a holiday inspiration! Hope you got everything down & packed away!
