This means it is the 25th of the month of June.
Christmas is 6 months away!!
And Christmas in July is right around the corner!
I have decided in celebration of Christmas in July, I will be sharing with you some of my Christmas Inspiration!
I have many Christmas books including the entire series called The Spirit of Christmas by Leisure Arts.
This series ran from 1987 to 2003 with a new book published every year.
I bought mine on Ebay and I absolutely love them.
Each book is divided into 3 sections:
The Sights of Christmas- Decorations
The Sharing of Christmas- Gifts
and
The Tastes of Christmas- Recipes
These books feature everything you can make by yourself from Decorations to Gifts to Recipes for Cookies, Brunches, Parties and Dinners!!
Today I am going to share with you The Spirit of Christmas , Book One
The first thing I would like to mention is the graphics are amazing!
Please click on the pics to ENLARGE to read......
" The Sights of Christmas give the season it,s sparkle, and home is where the holiday spirit shines the brightest. Festive trimmings all through the house set a cheerful mood when family and friends gather to share the joys of the season."
Next you will see several decorating themes and great transformations. The book contains directions for everything!
A Beary Merry Christmas
Christmas on the Prairie
A Natural Celebration
Romance and Rose
Reflections of the Holidays
Even though this book is from 1987, I think many of these ideas can still be applied and even changed up a bit to fit today's styles!
Sharing Christmas
" Giving is one of the greatest joys of Christmas, and you want your gifts to be as special as the people who receive them. Gifts that are lovingly crafted by hand show people how much you care, and they are sure to be appreciated and admired."
These are just some examples from the book...
Remember all directions are included!
The Tastes of Christmas
" The tantalizing tastes of Christmas bring us an abundance of pleasures. Good food and holiday cheer are always at the heart of the celebration when friends and relatives gather. "
There are tons of cookie recipes along with many others.......
As I mentioned before, if you are interested in these books, The Spirit of Christmas, you can find them on Ebay( here is a link ) or Amazon.
They are delightful with wonderful pictures and instructions!!
I do hope you enjoyed what I have shown you of Book One.
I will be posting excerpts from Book Two in a few days and I will be linking these series of post together with a link to the next book at the end of the previous post so you can start here with Book one and go right through to Book 17!!
If you have any questions on the books, please email me!

With 100 degree days, it is hard to think about Christmas. I do believe it is Christmas at you house all year long. Very pretty.

Your book idea sounds great but I am afraid I don't have any good Christmas books apart from the kid's books. I do have lots of Christmas magazines though-can that count?!
ReplyDeleteThanks for inviting to celebrate Christmas in July with you!
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz
Hi Debbie!!!! Thanks for stopping by - you made my day! You are soooo sweet! I hope I didn't sound whiny or complain-y... I surely didn't mean for it to come across that way :) Just trying to figure out how to balance it all~like everyone else! Thanks for the invite to join you for Christmas In July! I would be happy to join your celebration... Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to read your blog yet - just kinda skimmed it - it's late and 5:00 is coming fast - and I'm pooped! So I'll stop in over the weekend - but don't hesitate to email me or message me and let me know what you are hoping for or wanting to do... I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!! I'm getting SO SUPER excited! Even though it is a blazin' 95-100 degrees here - I enjoy the thoughts of Christmas in the air! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! ;) Thanks again Debbie! I'll be back.

Hi Debbie, I love old Christmas books. It's so fun to see past decorations and traditions. Like you say, many of them can still be used today. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.

Funny, I just bought another Christmas decorating book yesterday at the library book sale. I just love these books. I have one large shelf in a bookcase just dedicated to chrismtas crafts/decorating!
ReplyDeleteHmmm....I love Christmas but I enjoy summer too. It's a bit too early to start thinking of Christmas.

It's really hard for me to get in the mood living in Texas. But I know you think about it and am wondering when do you start decorating? I'll be looking forward to your Christmas posts!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your creativity at Potpourri Friday! Hope you will make it a week party stop!
This is too cute! I could just see you getting all excited about Christmas now! :)
