I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas in the Master Bedroom, More Christmas Buys and Crafting, 2021

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

Just a reminder, I will be posting on Wednesdays and Sundays every week so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

This is going to be a long post so grab a cup of hot chocolate and have a seat for a bit....

On to some personal notes...

I am thrilled that today we will be continuing our annual Christmas Tradition of seeing Trans Siberian Orchestra Live in concert.....

We have end seats in a row and will be masked up....

We only missed seeing them 3 times in their 25 years of touring....

My son even hooked me up last year to watch their online performance....

I am so excited to be returning to our Arena as it has been 2 years since I was there!!

I have never been away from our Arena that long in it's 21 year existence....

Let's Talk Turkey...

And the shortage of Turkey Breasts.....

Joe picked up a 10 pound turkey breast for Thanksgiving not long ago....

With the shortage of turkey breasts around, I thought it would be wise to also grab a turkey breast for Christmas too....

Joe found  a 6.5 pound one.....

Now I am set for both Holidays....

A year ago, Jim and Danielle brought little Faye into our lives.......

 She was 4 1/2 pounds......

Now she is all of a whopping 10 pounds......

These pictures were taken when we had Faye one day because of a furnace issue at their house....

Falling asleep while I am working on the computer in the Den........

  Finally sleeping.....

She brings our whole family so much joy.....

I had forbade Joe to buy any Halloween things on Clearance but Lord knows he just can not help himself....

He did call me to ask permission to buy these things at Big Lot's for 90% off....

The large pumpkins were $10 each and the small one was $8 originally....sold for $1.00 and 80 cents !!

This light up sign was $12....now $1.20!!

This was $10...now $1.00!!

And this walking spider, which I will be giving to my nieces, was $18....now $1.80!!

He always seems to hit 90% off in Big Lot's but then he is there at least 3 times a week as he gets a $5 off $15 coupon once a week for those visits...

I did venture out shopping about a week ago even though the number of cases here in Pa. is skyrocketing....

I go early in the morning when there is hardly anyone in the stores....

Not because of the Pandemic but because I am still used to shopping after I used to get home from work and I like to go when there is no one else in the stores...

And I ALWAYS wear a mask!!!!

I didn't really buy much because I don't really need anymore Christmas decorations but I like seeing what is out there and there wasn't anything much out there the day I went!!

I got these for FREE at Ocean State Job Lot , using some of our Crazy Deal Gift Cards....

I plan on replacing the wreaths that I have used on our windows for Christmas and Winter for almost 11 years now with new smaller wreaths next year and even though I am not a fan of the buffalo checked Farmhouse ribbon, I do like traditional plaid ribbon........

So I got 8 rolls of this ribbon to make bows for the new wreaths for next year...

I bought these Trees , which were all that was left , to use in the Hutch in the Dining Room.....

Both the trees and each roll of ribbon was $1.99 but they were FREE for us!!

You may remember that I changed out the dishes in this Hutch for the Holidays.....

And I was going to add a bit of Christmas to it.....

Well, this is what I did to add that Christmas look to it.....

With the simple addition of a few things, the Hutch looks like Christmas!!

Top shelf....

Simple addition of the gold tinsel trees, a gold ornament and gold and white berries....

More gold mercury glass ornaments, berries and 2 gold Trees from Dollar Tree on the middle shelf....

And more gold tinsel trees, a gold ornament and berries on the bottom shelf....

With the chandy off......

Except for the gold tinsel trees, I used things I had on hand....

I am happy that I did this this year.....

I bought this cute sign in Gabes for $2.99

This is where I hung it in the Kitchen....

Some tiny bottle brush trees for crafting from Dollar Tree....

Also at Dollar Tree, snowflakes for crafting, along with chocolate spoons for my Beverage Bar

And that was all I bought....

I did do some crafting......

Well, actually some recycling of an old greenery swag.....

This is the swag that I bought in T J Maxx and added to many years ago......

I wanted a change and also to keep up a sign that I had made above the sink area so I took apart this swag and straightened it out..........

I then used some of the picks that I removed from the swag to make a new one......

This smaller version allows me to keep up the sign I made....

I used a bow that I made out of ribbon I already had....

I am happy with this new look....

I then decided to add a bit to this wreath that I made last year....

I used some of the picks that I took off the old swag....

 Made it a bit fuller.....

I still have a bag of picks leftover from the old swag so I am sure I will be adding to a few more things.....

You may remember that I shared in a previous post how I finally finished this sled....

All I needed to do was to find a rope to hang it with.....

When I mentioned it to Joe, he said that he had some different ropes down our storage shed......

Of course, I asked, "What the heck are they doing down there?" as I think they belong in our storage room at the house so they are easily accessible to me!!!

When he brought them home, I knew I had the perfect rope, thanks to my neighbor Elly because it was rope we had taken when we cleaned out her house for her sons......

Not only did I had enough to use to hang the sled ( the piece on top of the greenery) but also to make a bow for it....

You see how well that rope goes with the Dollar Tree sign, don't you???

And I discovered that I had a handmade Santa head, that was gifted to me by a fellow Blogger years ago, that is also what I consider a perfect match for this sled.....

I have an idea of where I want to hang this sled in the Den but if that fails, then I am just going to keep it here against the back door as no one ever goes outside in the back during the Winter except to shovel snow off the sidewalks and away from the house.....

And it can easily be moved to the side to open the door when need be....

Okay, now to continue my annual Christmas Home Tour......

Today, I am sharing 2 Trees in our Master Bedroom......

I don't have the time nor energy to change to Christmas bed linens and all that because of all the decorations I have in all the other rooms of our townhouse so I do 2 Tress.....

One for me and one for Joe.....

I hang wreaths on all the interior doors in our townhouse....

I made this wreath for our bedroom door....

And hung a gold velvet stocking that I embellished.....

Over in this corner is my Tree, which I have done for years.....

This is what this corner looks like normally.....

I call this my Victorian Lady Tree....

I decorated it with ornaments that depict what a Victorian Lady would wear .....

And things that would be found in her bedroom or dressing room....

I topped the Tree with a bow made out of pink and gold shimmery ribbon

I tucked peacock feathers in to the top of the Tree, just like one would expect to see on the hat of a Victorian Lady....

The Tree is decorated with ornaments that are purses, boots and shoes....

 Hats and gloves....

 Even a dress!

Vanities and the stools that you would sit on in front of the vanity while putting on your make up....

Parasols, hand mirrors and dress forms.....

And I tucked pink frosted flowers into the Tree.....

There is a white iridescent beaded garland on the Tree...

The Tree is on a small table that was found on the side of one of our dumpsters that I rescued and painted blue....

On top of the table is everything a Victorian Lady would use....

Pearls and a hanky that I embellished.....

A beaded vintage purse with 2 pins on it including a "D" for Debbie.....

One vintage and one new cologne bottle.....

And gloves that I embellished.....

The Tree is in the corner but next to it in front of one of the windows is my Mother's Lane cedar hope chest....

My Dad had refinished it to match furniture that they had bought for their bedroom when they gave me my Mother's set which was bought for her when she was 16 years old by her parents.....

My Dad then refinished my Mother's bedroom furniture for me because I wanted a white French Provincial bedroom set but they could not afford it...

I now have that same furniture that I had as a teenager in our bedroom.....

I was going to paint it blue but my great niece Caitlin likes it the way it is and it will be going to her once I no longer need it.....

My Mother would be thrilled that it is being passed on to family, especially her great grand daughter!!!

This is the display that I have set up on her hope chest.....

This is Rose, a dress form that I decoupaged with music sheet paper....
.....

And dressed up a bit......

Rose is dolled up with pearls, gloves and a gold glitter scarf that I bought at a craft fair....

In the center is an unpolished Tea and Coffee set ....

I like the patina of it and I am too lazy to polish it....

The vintage yellow rose Avon perfume decanter was a Mother's Day gift that I gave to my Mother many years ago....

A tiered wood tray.....

A jewelry form that I also decoupaged with music sheet paper and a necklace Joe bought for me....

Vintage perfume bottles and a sweet angel that was gifted to me by a friend....

This hope chest is being passed on to my great niece Carly as her sisters each will be inheriting a hope chest from their mom Renae's side of the family.....

And this all goes with this display on top of the TV entertainment center in our bedroom.....

Well, that was my Tree and now we move over to the alcove in our bedroom where I created a Pittsburgh corner for Joe!!

The roll top desk was originally bought for our Den when Joe sold Life Insurance....

A hand crafted Pittsburgh Penguins Tree bought at a Craft Co Op.....

I stained on hung the shelves so Joe could display all the things that he receives as a Season Ticket holder for the Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins, the AHL team of the Pittsburgh Pens.....

I also set up this entire display because if it was up to Joe, they would all be in the boxes down our storage shed!!!

I do a small Tree and display for Christmas on top of the desk.....

Penguins ornaments hanging from the shelf.....

He bought this Santa for himself at Ocean State Job Lot.....

The picture in the background is Joe with the Caulder Cup when it came to our Arena which is 5 minutes down the road from us.....

A mixture of Pittsburgh Steeler and Penguin ornaments......

Christmas Sports items with regular sports items....

The lamp, that was my neighbor Elly's, is sporting the Santa Hat that Joe wore for Christmas when delivered the mail as a Letter Carrier for the US Postal Service......

A Tree that Joe bought for himself!!!

LOL!!

The picture is of Joe with Tux, the mascot for the WB Scranton Pens, which we hired to make an appearance at our church Festival and Flea Market that I ran.....

This will pretty much stay up until the end of the hockey Season!!

With Joe's Santa and Tree lit up!!

The rest of his Penguins corner.....

Shelves that I painted black and hung....

That is my closet where I keep every day clothes....

Joe has the bigger closet in this room for all his clothes and about 30 Pens Jersey's!!!

At least he now gets to wear all his WB Scranton Pens tee shirts to work at the Toyoto sportsplex when he is working the concession stand.....

And he got to work for a few hours yesterday with our great niece Caitlin, as she is now also working there.....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated the Master Bedroom with 2 Trees, each reflecting Joe's likes and mine....

Next up on my annual Christmas Tour will be the upstairs Sitting Room......

  1. Wow, you have every little space filled with decorations, yet you still manage to find a spot for new things. Happy crafting.

  2. I love the Victorian look for your master bedroom, Debbie! I recently read that besides pinks, blues and creams, some of my favorite colors - purples, mauves and burgundies were also used during the Victorian era! So I don't feel bad with my purple hues Christmas decorations! But I must say, I don't know where you get all that energy from to do so much decorating! You are amazing!

  3. Love the changes in the kitchen. Sometimes a little change can make a big difference! And that "Baking Spirts Bright"!!! I love it!! Somehow I have never heard that one or seen it or thought of it. What a great saying. My daughter in law is a super baker and I am going to have to come up with a special project to incorporate this. I love your "His & Hers" Christmas Bedroom!

  5. Deb: You put me to shame. I only have two little vignettes of Christmas up yet and I too love to have a longer time to enjoy all of Christmas so I'd better get busy. I always love how your trees are so specific to what room they are in. I think a person would have to set up camp in your home in order to take it all in. So much pretty. You are so organized and it shows. Would you spread just a little of that around? I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving my friend..xxoJudy

  6. Such a cute pup and wow your decorations are always so beautiful! it's awesome you were able to score more on such great sale too, and that you could tweak some you had to make some new ones for this year! I like the little Christmas touches to the display in the hutch - the gold trees were such a good pick and work well there :)

Hope that your week is going well! Another rainy spring one here!
