I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

A Christmas in July Craft Project, July's Rudolph Day

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

Just a reminder, I will be NOW posting 2 times a week for on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

On Wednesdays and Sundays!!!!

REMEMBER TO CLICK ON PICTURES IF YOU WISH TO ENLARGE THEM!!!

HAPPY RUDOLPH DAY!!!!!

I know...

It is the 24th instead of the 25th but I did not want to change up my posting schedule so I am a day early!!

Rudolph Day is celebrated the 25th of each month......

When I find the time to post on Rudolph Day, it will be about something having to do with Christmas no matter what time of the year it is...

For this July Rudolph Day, I will be sharing a Christmas Craft project that was several years in the making....

But first, I want to Thank Cindy, over at Reinvented Delaware, for choosing my post July 4th Front Porch , as one of her features from last week's Tuesday Turn About Link Party!!!

 Thanks so much Cindy!!

I also want to Thank Andrea, over at The Cottage Market, for featuring my post, Tea Cup Collection in the Sitting Room  from last week's Morning Cup of Joe link Party!!

 Thanks again, Andrea!!

Please stop by and link up to these lovely parties....

We have been in our first Heat Wave of the Summer!!

Now we are into 5 days of above to mid 90 degree temps with tropical humidity....

It is killing me and I have been having headaches and been nauseated because of it, more often than not....

Supposed to end tomorrow.....

One can only hope and pray....

As of today.....

I was hoping to get more Christmas crafting done in July but it took me this whole week to change over the Living Room from my Patriotic decorations to my late Summer "Under the Sea" theme and give the room a good cleaning....

Soon, I will be posting about it on my regular blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog...

So I hope you will visit there next week for Wednesday's post....

When we were cleaning out my neighbor Elly's home for her sons after she passed away, I found this Kit in one of her back bedroom closets where she stored all her craft projects...

Since her sons had told us to take what we wanted, give away and then throw away everything else, this kit came home with me....

Elly taught me how to watch for clearance sales especially at places like Michael's ....

I imagine she picked this up along with extra ornaments and other things on Clearance ....

The date I found on this pamphlet was 1999....

I have no idea if they even sell these Kits anymore as this was from 20+ years ago....

Now I have had all this tucked away in the Sitting Room closet for almost 6 years..

Last year, I got it out, spread it out on the Dining Room table.....

And took stock of everything that Elly had bought for this project....

Over 10 packs of mini ornaments....

An Angel for the Tree Topper...

The Tree itself...

The tree skirt and the base of the glass dome....

And beaded garland....

Along with everything that would go under the Tree including a train set...

After taking a good look and reading the directions last year in mid December, I felt it was best if I tabled this project, which I do admit seemed daunting to me, until the Summer when I had more time to work on it....

So last Saturday when the heat and humidity started to increase, I decided I was going to set it up in the Craft Room so I can work on it slowly....

Okay....

I started to play around with the Tree and shaped it and attempted to add some of the mini ornament on it...

NIGHTMARE!!!

The tiny hooks were supposed to fit around the loops of the Tree and then you were supposed to take pliers and close them around the loop of the Tree...

NO DICE!!!

Even having the Tree placed underneath my new magnifying lamp that I bought with an Amazon gift card from my son Joey, for this type of project., I still could not for the life of me pinch the hook closed around the loops of the Tree...

At first, I thought it was because of the arthritis in my hands until I realized that the hooks seemed too small.....

 Which they were!!!!

Now I was determined to put this Tree together no matter what so I got out my smaller glue gun with a fine pointed tip....

After opening up the hooks with my fingernails, breaking every single one on, I would hook the ornaments on the loop and then I would apply a small dab of glue to hold it on place....

I opened up all the packets of ornaments and pretty much decorated this Tree like I do all my Seasonal Trees....

Placing the different types of ornaments all over and around the Tree...

It went a lot faster this way, I think....

I then wrapped the bead garland around the Tree after I finished putting all the ornaments on it....

Next, I glued the 3 prongs on the bottom of the Tree inside the groves in the base of the dome....

I then glued the red Tree Skirt to the tan felt fabric and then glued them both to the base of the dome....

Next, I started to glue all the Toys to the tree skirt....

I put the red presents in the back of the Tree....

I can not believe that I finished this entire project in 4 hours last Saturday morning!!!

I thought I would be working on it all Summer....

And here it is all finished and under the glass dome!!!

I am thrilled with how it came out and I hope that Elly is smiling down on me and is happy that I put it together for her....

I actually envision her standing by my Dad who is saying "That a Girl"!!!

I will be keeping this out year round as I am too afraid to pack it away.....

I haven't decided where I will keep it yet....

I hope to get more Christmas Crafting done before I decorate for Fall/Halloween after Labor Day and I hope to post about it in August for Rudolph Day!!

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
