I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Planning and Crafting for Next Christmas, February Rudolph Day, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Just a reminder, I am NOW posting 2 times a week over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog! !!

HAPPY RUDOLPH DAY!!!!!

Rudolph Day is celebrated the 25th of each month......

When I find the time to post on Rudolph Day, it will be about something having to do with Christmas no matter what time of the year it is...

For January's Rudolph Day post, I shared some After Christmas Clearance Buys....

Click HERE to see that post....

Since that post, Joe nabbed a few more Buys at 90% off in Big Lot's....

Several tree skirts.....

This one I gifted to my friend Anne Marie....

It was $1.00

This one was less than a buck!!

And I already used this one....

In a Winter tablescape that I posted over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog.....

Click HERE if you missed that post...

At 90% off with a 20% off coupon, it was 80 cents!!

I just saw on a FB post that Michael's is still getting Christmas merchandise in that was caught up in the supply chain and is selling it at 80% off....

Crazy, huh??

Right after Christmas is over, I began planning for next Christmas....

For years, I have kept a Christmas Planner....

In this planner, I keep notes on what I served for the various Holiday dinners I host, what I bought and where I hope to use it in the future, A baking and cooking Shopping List, including the recipes for what I like to bake at Christmas, a Gift List with the amounts spent on each person, a craft project list, a list of things I want to change or try out when decorating, etc....

The use of this Planner has been a God Send in keeping me organized when the Holidays come...

About 10 years ago, I found the web site, Organized Christmas....

There are tons of FREE Planner Pages to print out ....

Here are some examples....

The site now has expanded to other Holidays and crafts for those Holidays........

There is so much useful information and articles on this site....

I highly recommend it and I am sure you will find it very useful!!!

For 11 years now, I have used 5 wreaths when decorating the front of our house....

The Front Door....

On the 3 windows...

And one that hangs in the middle of the house...

I bought these wreaths, which are quite large, from our parish's church Flea Market....

They once graced our church at Christmas and were donated to the Flea Market because they were changing some of their decorations....

Over the 11 years that I have used them, I changed the appearance of them at least 4 times....

But now, they are losing more and more "needles" each  Season and honestly, are a bugger to hang on the windows as they are so large....

Plus they take a lot of room when storing them down in our Storage Shed that we rent...

So I decided it was time to pass them on...

I took the large pine cones off of them before donating all 5 wreaths to Salvation Army...

Now it was time to think about a new look for next year....

Since I was thinking about doing this for some time, I had already bought the ribbon I wanted to use on the wreaths and around the front porch, even replacing some of the red velvet bows I use at Christmas...

I also had this roll of ribbon that I bought 2 years ago .....

A close match to the other ones.....

I found a red and white plaid ribbon in my stash....

I had a nice sized wreath that I could use for the front door and 3 smaller 18 inch wreaths that I wanted to use for the windows....

I wanted to go smaller with the wreaths for the windows to make it easier on myself when hanging them and I also wanted to use up some garland that I had and use it on the window sills like I did before I started to use those large wreaths........

I went through my Christmas floral stash looking for things to create a more natural look for the front door wreath.....

This is what I came up with.....

I had a red poinsettia and holly leaf garland that I used to use on the stair railing inside the house....

I wove that through the wreath and fastened it....

I added pines that I removed from the larger wreaths along with some new ones that Joe had bought on Clearance....

I cut apart a red berry bush and added those to the wreath....

I made the bow for the wreath out of the large roll of the red, white and green plaid ribbon and the red and white plaid ribbon that I had......

I am happy with how it came out....

And I think the wreath will look great on the front door next Christmas....

I wanted the 3 wreaths for the windows to have a natural look with not a lot of stuff on them so I could keep them up after Christmas as part of my Winter decorations

I made the bows for these wreaths out of the other plaid ribbon......

I embellished them with pine cones and a few holly berry picks from my stash.....

I will lay the garland on the window sill outside and have my candle lights in the windows.....

As for the wreath that I had hung in the middle of the house....

Joe had bought a large wood star from the Amish Farmer 2 years ago.....

I will be spray painting it white when the weather gets better to do so outside and adding a set of Warm White LED lights to it...

Something similar to this....

That will be what I will be hanging in the center of the house instead of a wreath....

The wreaths are now packed away, ready for use next Christmas, down our storage shed.....

I also used up what was left of the ribbon and made a bunch of bows that I could use on the lamp post, the front porch light, etc....

I am looking forward to seeing how it will all look next Christmas Season.....

I also decided to re-do another wreath....

I made this wreath to hang on the railing upstairs.....

I found that I had several bushes of gold greenery that I cut apart and added to this wreath....

I was able to decrease from 2 tubs, with florals and garland for Christmas in them, down to one tub....

I passed some florals onto friends and I did use quite a few things.........

I came to the conclusion that I will have more time in the Summer months when I am stuck in the house with the air conditioners blaring as it will be way too hot and humid for me to venture outside..

And that is when I need to take that opportunity to do all the various Holiday crafting that I want to do...

I have developed a Christmas Crafting To Do List that I hope to start working on around the end of June....

I hope you enjoyed this month's Rudolph Day post!!

Hopefully, I will be back with another one in March....
