I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Again,I am very flattered and  honored to be featured by these 3 Wonderful Bloggers!

Christmas 2012 is now in the record books and I do hate to see it go...

I love the way our home looks, feels and even smells at Christmas time. And soon, I will be packing it all away.
I am in no hurry and I don't start right after New Year's Day as many people do.
Actually, I can't because I am usually working.
And many people in this area leave their Christmas decorations up for Russian Christmas . Thirteen days after Western Christmas, on January 7th, the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates its Christmas, in accordance with the old Julian calendar.
And in the Roman Catholic Church , many leave their decorations up until Epiphany or the Feast of the Three Kings which is  Jan. 6th this year. This is the Roman Catholic Church's official end of the Christmas season.

On New Year's Day, Joe and I did go out and check out some of the sales. There wasn't much left but that is okay as I really don't need more Christmas decorations BUT I did find a few things......

In Burlington Coat Factory, what was left of Christmas was 75 % off. Not much was left but these babies caught me eye!!
Yes, aqua mercury glass candlesticks for $2.39 each!! These will go in my Living Room on top of the new TV stand for every day decoration as there is a lot of aqua accents in the Living Room.
Also bought these 2 large ornaments for $1.99 for the set!

At Wegman's Food Store, Joe bought this sweetie for $3.00 at 75% off!!

She found a home sitting on this chair with more of my Bearington Bears....

Then these boxes of Shatterproof Balls were only $2.00 each!!

These will be for my Autumn Tree.....
These will possibly be for a St. Patrick's Day tree or wreath.....

And Gold Balls and Silver and White Balls......
And this is what I made with the gold balls.....
I had bought a container of the pink Balls before Christmas.

My Friend, Penny from Penny's Vintage Home has made several of these wonderful wreaths and when I asked her how she made them, she was kind enough to tell me how so I thought I would try my hand at it!!

Please check out Penny's AMAZING blog!!

For now, I have it hanging here on the window divider between the Dining Room and the Living Room but I will be looking for a better place for it when I decorate the Dining Room for Valentine's Day!!
I am very happy with how it came out.
Thanks so much , Penny, for the inspiration and instructions!!

When Joe went to the Casino, he cashed in some of his Comp points and could not resist this......
Yes, this is our home town edition.  If not anything else, it is a conversation piece!!

And he got this for me......
 Nice Box....

Wonder what is in it????
A Christmas Tea for One set!!
Now does he know me or what????

And since he won a bit of money at the Casino, he bought me this in Sam's Club...

Amazingly, I have NOT watched this show but I have heard that I have been missing something really great so I really wanted this....

I also wanted to show you what I learned to make from one of my co workers....
Yes, the snowflakes that are all over the blogs but I decided to make mine out of sheet music!

And I took these pictures the other day after we had 6 inches of snow.....
Icicles hanging off the awning in the back....
Love how the light shining on them makes them look.....
Well, that is about it and the end of the Christmas season of 2012!!

I have been a bit under the weather with a stomach bug which came with a fever of 103!! I haven't had a fever that high since I had Pneumonia a few years ago.!!
And the Stomach Bug triggered some of my IBS symptoms including pain which I really can live without!!

Slowly, I will start taking down Christmas and converting over to Winter Decorations and Valentine's Day decorations. The temps. are supposed to be in the 40's next week and in NEPA, high's in the 40's in Jan. is a blessing so that is when I will change over the outside decorations to Winter decorations.

We plan to visit my dear friend, Anne Marie and her hubby, Tony, on Sunday so I will post pictures of her beautiful home decorated for Christmas like I usually do. So please come back and visit for that post!!

After that, I will be returning to my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble.  If you missed my post on my choice of

One day when I was feeling a cold coming on my hubby brought me a book home from Costco. It isn't the same as yours, but about Downtown too. I have loved it. Thanks for sharing with Share Your Cup.
