Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!
The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........
I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....
As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....
Can you believe that today is Christmas Eve???
I have thoroughly enjoyed this Holiday Season!!
I have had such fun decorating, crafting and even baking!
I have been greatly inspired by fellow Bloggers and have spent a lot of time watching Wonderful Christmas Home Tours on the You Tube Channel...
And I received something that I wish for every single year since I was a child.....
Today, I will be sharing my Victorian Doll House, Nelson Crest, all decked out in her Christmas Finery.....
This is the final post in my Christmas Home Tour Series for this year.....
In my last post, I shared the rest of the Den decorated for Christmas including a Thomas Kinkade Village, Tree and my China Cupboard........
Click HERE if you missed that post....
Joe was busy buying the food for all our Holiday dinners last week.....
For tonight on Christmas Eve, he picked up 3 dozen home made pierogies from a local Eatery called Pierce Deli....
All this plus a container of tartar and cocktail sauce for only $56.....
Joey actually said that he liked these better than the ones I was getting before and my Mother's!!!
I am sure she is rolling in her grave!!!
LOL!!
These were only $5 a roll....
For Christmas Day Dinner, we will be having Turkey.....
Ham.....
And Kielbasi.....
I will make up 3 rings of this turkey kielbasi and send my son's home with a ring each after having the other ring for Dinner.....
Joey loves the cheese kielbasi so I will also be making this for Dinner.....
Mashed potatoes with turkey gravy and corn will also be served for Christmas Day Dinner....
Joe also bought the lobster tails for New Year's Eve Dinner....
They look to be about 9-10 oz. each.....
We also will get the scallops, shrimp and chicken fingers again....
I have one last thing I want to share now that I finished the room by room Tour of our home decorated for Christmas and that is my other house....
My Victorian Doll House, Nelson Crest.....
And of course, it is ALWAYS a WHITE CHRISTMAS at Nelson Crest....
I went all out decorating Nelson Crest for the Holidays this year....
The side yard on the left....
I always hang wreaths on the windows, just like I do on my own home.....
This year, I added gold stars to those wreaths....
It is hard to believe that it has been 14 years since a wonderful man named Roy Nelson built this house for me after Joe bought it as a Birthday present!!
At the age of 87, having been newly diagnosed with lung cancer, he built my doll house for me...
To honor him, the heart is engraved with "Created by Roy Nelson 2008"
And the family that lives there are the Nelson's with Roy being the Father, Victoria, the Mother and their daughter is Rose....
Roy was a former patient of mine, belonged to the same church we belonged to and lived down the road from us in the apartment complex that both my sons now live in.....
He built over 30 doll houses and only excepted the cost of supplies and the kit as payment...
I had a friend of mine at the local newspaper do a Human Interest story on him and how he built over 30 Doll Houses!!....
Roy passed away the following year at the age of 88 years old....
I am forever grateful to this man for making a little girl's childhood dream come true at the age of 50 years old!!!
This year, I also added a decorated Tree ( I made it) in the tower area of the Music Room...
You can see it in the window....
I also hung garland around the ledges of all the windows and decorated it with a star in the center to match the stars on the wreaths....
The balcony outside the Master Bedroom.....
You can see the Tree in the Master Bedroom through the window....
Candy canes hang in the corners of the garland around the door....
Red velvet wrapped presents decorate the balcony along with toy soldiers and a cherub....
You can also see the Tree in Rose's room through the window....
There is a Santa head hanging from the railing on the balcony and a snow man and a sled in the front yard.....
These honor my Dad and his love for decorating at Christmas....
This is the first home he built when he returned home from WWII.....
We lived there until I was 4 years old.....
There is a Santa head encircled in a wreath hanging on this house along with the Snow Man and the Santa and Sled that he built in front of the house....
When we moved to the second home he built for us, the Santa and the Snow Man were still a part of our Christmas decorations.....
When I got married, I had him reinforce the Sled, repairing it from the damage the weather had caused and all 3 decorations he built graced the front of our home for a few years.....
I used to put packages wrapped in bright colored plastic in the sled.....
I passed these decorations on to my nephew Dan who decorated his home in York, Pa. with it for a few years....
I replaced them with lighted frames in the shape of a Snow Man, Sled and Santa....
I will have to look for pictures of them....
This year, the Snow Man is on this side of the front yard.....
He was built on a sled just like my childhood one that has graced our front porch for 44 Winters....
The lighted trees on each side of the sidewalk are from Dollar Tree......
A Toy Soldier, decorated shovel.......
And a milk can ( like on my porch) with a poinsettia on top flank the front door.....
Milk and eggs have just been delivered by the Dairy....
Toy soldiers guard the steps.....
Ice skates were left on the steps from the family's trip down to the pond to enjoy some Winter Ice Skating!!
Nelson Crest is on a turntable so it can easily be turned around to see the inside of the house.....
The Parlor......
Mr. Nelson, Roy, has just come home after a hard day at work....
Mr. Nelson is relaxing , reading the newspaper and has his box of imported cigars near by to enjoy......
My Dad smoked cigars...
Mrs. Nelson has brought him a piece of cake and a cup of Tea .....
Toys are scattered about as Rose was playing there and just went back up to her bedroom.....
And there you have it.....
Nelson Crest is ready for Christmas visitors.....
After Christmas, I will keep her decorated for Winter, just removing any Christmas decorations....
AND this completes my annual Christmas Home Tour for 2023!!!!!

Merry Christmas Debbie! It’s always a pleasure to visit you during the holidays. Every room is beautiful and I love seeing your favorites again and again. Nelson Crest is fabulous. It always makes me want to dig out my own dollhouse to refurbish it. Every detail is perfect, but those tiny milk bottles on the porch just get me!! Love them!! Enjoy the weekend and thank you for all the visits this year, my friend!!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbie,

Wishing you a Wonderful and Merry Christmas with your family. Thank you for sharing all your lovely decorations in your Christmas home with us! It has been so much to read all your Christmas blogs.
ReplyDeleteI was never one to decorate early, but you have inspired my daughter and I for next year. This year the season got away from both of us and we did not accomplish half of what we wanted to decorate or visit half the places we wanted to visit. Your early decorating is the way to go and next year we are starting Nov 1 with a game plan and finishing the decorating by the end of the month so we can ENJOY the Christmas Season!
Merry Christmas my friend!!
Fabulous decorations! Hope you're enjoying the holiday season and staying nice and warm, dear Debbie. All the best for the new year!
