I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

New Beverage Bar and Gingerbread Village in the Kitchen, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing both my new Beverage Bar and Gingerbread Village....

In my last post here on A Debbie-Dabble Christmas, I shared how I decorated the Front Porch and Yard for Christmas this year with a few changes....

I am skipping Personal Notes today as I really have nothing to report since Thursday....

So let's get right to it, shall we???

Today, I am going to share all the changes I made this Christmas to this counter area in the Kitchen...

Just one wall for today.....

For at least well over 15 years, I have decorated my Kitchen in a Baking, Gingerbread and Candy Theme as the Kitchen is painted red and I have a lot of red accent pieces....

I am so thrilled to see that this seems to be one of the "BIG" things in decorating for this year for Christmas!!!

For several years, everything was Farmhouse which is now fading by the wayside....

And I am doing a happy dance as it was never my thing....

 In the corner....

Joe bought the towels with the B monogram last year on Clearance in Big Lot's...

The Sugar and Flour Canisters were bought many years ago in Micheal's and are part of my normal Kitchen decor...

On top of a Cookie Jar that says "Cookies" on it ( bought many years ago in Target after Christmas), is a wire tea cup that I have lighted and filled with Christmas florals and cnandy picks!

I added peppermint candy light covers from an old set of lights that no longer work to the lights that are used year round on the tea cup...

I also hung this sign, that I embellished with candy cane like pipe cleaners, over here this year....

This was how I set up a Christmas/Winter Beverage area in my very small Kitchen in years past....

I have had this Cup Tree, that I spray painted red, for at least over 30 years

The marble turntable that it is on was bought at Salvation Army....

And this small wood shelf was my neighbor Elly's that I spray painted with chalkboard paint....

Cute enough and I did add some Hot Chocolate Goodies last year but I wanted something different and I wanted more!!

LOL!

So in September, I started scanning Blogs and watching You Tube videos on Hot Cocoa Bars and Coffee Bars for Christmas....

I did this looking for something that would give me more room in this very small corner....

I went through my stash of wood as I thought shelves were the way to go and I found 2 perfectly sized cut pieces of lumber....

I thought about and looked for a very easy way to make them in to shelves and I remembered that I had a ton of wire shelves that were my neighbor Elly's....

I mainly used them in my Kitchen cupboards and closets....

I found 3 smaller ones that the wood shelves fit on top of perfectly!!

I then spray painted both the wood shelves and the wire ones red.....

But first, this is the area above the counter....

Hanging on the soffit is a sign I bought at Gabes a few years back....

Hanging on the cupboard door is a wreath that I made....

And Gingerbread pot holders

I realized it was time to lose the red coffee cup tree.....

I cleaned everything off the counter top to start my new project....

And I got so excited about doing this that i forgot to take pictures of the process!!!

LOL!

I finally decided on a good configuration that I thought would work......

Then I went shopping to Dollar Tree and bought almost all the things I wanted after scouting them out online first!!!

And I also forgot to take pictures of that Dollar Tree Haul!!!

I call it my Beverage area as it is not only for Hot Cocoa but for Coffee and Tea......

By removing the turntable with the coffee cup tree in the corner, I created a lot of space!!!

This is the coffee maker that I have used for years.....

A Hamilton Beach Brew Station and this is my 3rd one!!

I have a new one in storage to use when this one dies as we were afraid that they would stop making them!!

By setting up the shelves in an L configuration, I doubled if not tripled my space in this corner.....

Remember the Dollar Tree sign that I changed to fit my decor in the Kitchen.....

It was the perfect size to hang here....

Next to it hangs a Hot Chocolate ornament and on the shelf is one of the 3 Gingerbread mugs that my son Jim and my DIL Danielle gifted me last year.....

I filled it with candy canes and a set of Christmas mini spatulas from Dollar Tree...

The vintage Cocoa jar was my neighbor Elly's and I placed a tree bought at Ocean State Job Lot inside of it!!

The Cuddle in a Cup wood sign was bought at Hobby Lobby last year....

I was able to fit my Coffee canister, that was part of the set with the Sugar and Flour ones you saw in the other corner, into this space between the shelves and the coffee pot!

The salt shaker is there because my Dad always sprinkled slat on the coffee grounds when brewing coffee as do I!!!

The Milk for Santa candle in a bottle was bought in Big Lot's a few years ago....

I also have storage under the shelving....

An extra Christmas mug, a vintage 8 O' Clock Coffee bank and green enamelware mug filled with tea bags were placed inside a vintage red enamelware container....

I wrote "Warm Drinks" on a small chalkboard....

I moved the marble turntable into the center of this area....

You may remember the place mat I bought at Big Lot's recently....

And it is reversible so I will be using it for my Winter Beverage Bar....

I filled a coffee mug with Creme coffee wafer stick from Ollies!!

The bowls, which hold the Sweetner packets and my coffee creamers, were gifted to me and are Lenox....

I placed them on top of peppermint patty dishes bought at The Christmas Tree Shop.....

I placed this shelf on top of the shelf in the corner.....

I used the 2 dishes bought from Dollar Tree.....

Filling them with marshmallows, candy canes, peppermint sticks and chocolate spoons all from Dollar Tree!!!

Packets of Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa, peppermint spoons and Peppermint Tea Bags are also stored on this shelf unit....

In front of it is a Hot Cocoa Mug ornament....

On the counter, in the corner, is one of the reindeer mugs I bought at Big Lot's this year filled with candy canes.....

And a Gingerbread mug bought at Big Lots filled with tea bags......

On the side of the refrigerator....

Magnets hold these onto the side of the fridge.....

On top of the shelf are 3 glass jars that I had in my Craft Room that are now filled with flavored coffee and Instant coffee.....

The peppermint cocoa bombs and flavored Swiss Miss packets were bought at Dollar Tree.....

 I had the Capucino boxes....

One of a set of 4 measuring spoons with red and white handles that were gifted to me by a friend lays on the shelf with a tea bag strainer....

Under the shelf is where our Christmas coffee mugs are stored...

We can easily pull them out from the side....

And that is my new Christmas Beverage Bar!!

Now after I took and downloaded and edited all these pictures, I went shopping this morning!!!

I bought these things in Big Lots!!!

This was $5!!

These sweet ceramic ornaments were $3 each!!!

When we were checking out, I saw these in a basket of things to be put back on the shelves....

I yanked those babies right out of that basket and bought them!!!

They were $5!!

Aren't they cute???

These were only $1!

And then I finally found these at Dollar Tree!!!

I had been looking for these in the stores after seeing them online!!!

Now I have my 2 Gingerbread mugs that I wanted....

And here is what I did with all of these new things!!!

I put the Milk for Santa container here....

I glued a magnet to the Mr. and Mrs. Marshmallow in a mug ornament and added it to the fridge....

And added the peppermint bark packets ...

The Hot Cocoa salt and pepper shakers are now on the shelf....

And here are the mugs.....

Okay, I think it is now finished!!!

LOL!!

I am super happy with how it all came out!!!!

And can't wait to decorate it for the other Seasons and Holidays!!!

 Christmas towels and Kitchen rugs....

I was inspired by my FB friend Angela, who decided to decorate her Kitchen in a Gingerbread and Candy theme for Christmas

She bought several tins at Dollar General for $1 to $3.....

I bought these all for $1 each to use for elevation!!!

Now this is how my Gingerbread Village on top of the refrigerator looked last year....

I bought a new runner for the counter bar in the Kitchen so I moved this rag rug that I used as a runner  over to the top of the fridge.....

And this is what my Gingerbread Village looks like this year!!!!

I also added these cute trees that I bought in Dollar General for $1 each!!

The small Gingerbread houses were bought many years ago in Boscov's.....

I placed this large house that was gifted to me on top of a vintage bowl....

The peppermint trees were bought at Michael's....

i glued a Gingerbread ornament to a peppermint patty charger plate....

So much better with the different elevations!!

Since I took these pictures before shopping this morning, the clock is still in the corner on the wall...

I attached a plate hanger to this plate from Dollar Tree....

And I hung it in place of the clock!!

And I switched out the ornament on the lamp shade with the new one!!!

Now it is finished!!!

I am really happy with all the changes that I made to this area of the Kitchen this year....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I enlarged my Beverage Bar area and the difference elevation made with the Gingerbread Village!!

I hope you will come back on TUESDAY when I will be continuing my Christmas Home Tour and will be sharing the rest of the Kitchen......

  3. I am in awe of all the gingerbread stuff in your kitchen, Debbie! As I kept looking at your pictures, my jaw was laying on my lap! So pretty! I love all the changes you've made! WOW is really all I can say! I am still working on my kitchen since my daughter moved home this past weekend and she is adding stuff to my collection. Adding the tins to your things on top of the fridge was a brilliant idea and so pleasing to the eye. Love your beverage bar as it has almost any kind of drink you would want and adding the shelves was also a way to add more to your bar. Can't wait to see the rest of your kitchen! Love, love, love! TFS!

I always forget about going to Big Lots so thank you again for the reminder. I can't get over the little milk carton and the ribbon trees. And don't even get me started on your gingerbread collection. It's perfection! Big hugs and I'm so excited you guys got to be together for Thanksgiving, CoCo
