Christmas in the Den...Thomas Kinkade, a Tree, Twas the Night Before Christmas and a Christmas Carol, 2021

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

Just a reminder, I will be NOW posting 3 times a week as I realized that in some rooms, there is just too much to share in one post SO until the New Year, I will be posting on SUNDAYS, TUESDAYS and THURSDAYS so be sure to check back on those days to see a new post......

Today, we are moving into the last room on my Christmas Home Tour.....

The Den....

I will be sharing this room in 2 posts....

But first, I want to Thank Rebecca, over at Zucchini Sisters, for choosing my post, Christmas Tree and Vignettes in the Sitting Room, as one of her features from last week's Celebrate Your Story Link Party!!!!

Rebecca liked this Village and the bottle brush trees....

Thanks again, Rebecca!!

Also Thanks, Karren, over at Oh My Heartsie Girl, for choosing my post, Christmas Tree, Hutch, Candy Bar and More Crafting,  as one of her features from last week's Wonderful Wednesday Linkup Party!!

She liked the wreath that I made....

Thanks so much, Karren!!

And I also want to Thank Barb, over at French Ethereal, for choosing my post, Christmas Front Porch and Yard, as one of her features from last week's Share Your Style Linky Party!!!!

Barb liked this photo!!

 Thanks again, Barb!!

Please stop by and link up to these charming parties!!!

On to some personal notes...

Nothing much new....

Jim's eye surgery went well even though the poor kid looks like someone bet the Bejesus out of him...

He did have more pain than he expected and is still quite uncomfortable....

Faye and Azumi are slowly getting to know each other and starting to play together so that is a relief...

We still have not met her because we do not want to disturb poor Jim until he is feeling a bit better...

I haven't started to bake yet but I will be cutting way back on the amount of cookies I make because with the skyrocketing Co Vid cases, especially break through ones in those that are vaccinated, I am not having any guests over for the Holidays....

Better to be safe than sorry as our hospitals are full and ER estimated wait time is between 10-15 hours with no beds available in the area hospitals....

Again, WEAR A MASK!!!!!

In my last post, I shared the Christmas vignettes in the Living Room......

Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Now, on to the Den.....

We will start directly to the left when you enter the room from the Kitchen.....

The Den was our patio that was originally open to the yard, then closed in and made a porch by my Dad and then turned into another room, again, by my Dad.....

The area in the picture above, was once part of a larger storage room that I had my Dad tear the wall down to enlarge what would be the Den....

The door with the mirror on it leads to the half of the storage room that we kept....

Last year, I changed the photo in this frame from one that was just of my Mother to one of both my parents....

I bought this mail box in Micheal's several years ago and keep it up year round..

On the door of the Storage Room hangs a wreath that I made...

The color theme of the Den is burgundy, ivory and blue and I kept that color theme for Christmas.......

On the door of the pantry closet that I had my Dad build for me, hangs a Cynthia Hart calendar......

This is my corner and where I spend the majority of my time since Joe watches his hockey games in the Living Room on the bigger TV....

I taped Thomas Kinkade Christmas cards over the Thomas Kinkade pictures in these frames....

Above the TV....

Vintage styled Santa's on the shelves....

This year, I added blue velvet ribbon to the bow on this swag I made after taking it apart....

The sleigh riders were a gift from a friend.....

On the side of the TV......

In the corner.....

A wreath hangs on my circuit breaker box that my Dad covered....

In the corner is one of 2 tables that Joe bought at a church flea market in his hometown for $5.00 each!!!

I refinished them.....

Led branch lights along with Christmas florals in the tin pocket.....

I bought the Santa and Snowman that is under the dome at Burlington years ago on Clearance....

Above my chair......

On the shelf......

More vintage styled Santa's.....

I replaced the picture here with a Thomas Kinkade calendar picture that I framed....

"Not a Creature was stirring, Not even a Mouse"

I added blue velvet ribbon to this bow also.....

This tin pocket was displayed outside on the front porch for many years and last year, I cleaned it up and put this arrangement in it to use inside....

This room is where I have most of my Thomas Kinkade Collection displayed.....

My Thomas Kinkade clock.....

A Thomas Kinkade Angel.....

The first of 3 Trees in the Den....

I added blue velvet ribbon streamers to the Tree but when I strip this Tree down after Christmas to turn it into a Winter Tree, I will cut the blue velvet streamers in half so I have 4 shorter ones to use for next year....

I bought this Tree in Target many years ago at 75% off...a mere $10!!

A few years ago, I decided I wanted it to be a bit Slimmer so I got out wire cutters and trimmed about 1-2 inches off the bottom branches....

There are over 600 LED lights on this Tree....

Rule of thumb is at least 100 lights per foot of Tree when decorated a tree....

In Victorian fashion, pheasant feathers are tucked into the top of the Tree....

I always say that the reason why I have 22 Trees decorated in our house is because I am addicted to ornaments.....

I have amassed quite a Collection of ornaments which led to many Trees at Christmas and Trees staying up year round and decorated for different Seasons and Holidays!!!!

The orrnaments on this Tree are all in Victorian style.......

Gold candle ornaments are to symbolize the candles that were originally used to light trees before Electricity.....

Trees were usually only lit on Christmas Eve and Day....

And someone always stood ready with a big bucket of water to throw on the Tree in case it caught fire!!!!!

There is ivory rose embossed beaded garland on this Tree....

Also burgundy, blue and gold ball ornament garland on this Tree bought at Big Lot's 3 years ago....

Underneath the Tree is a village of both vintage and new putz houses....

The plastic manger is just like the one I had as a child under the Tree in my room but it had broke.....

I was lucky enough to find this one at a yard sale!!!!

The tree skirt was bought at a church Flea Market....

On the side of the Tree on a burgundy velvet foot stool.....

A vintage Santa bought at Gabes and a reindeer bought at Big Lot's......

This year, I decided to leave the ivory lace swag curtains up for the Winter and just added a single lace panel to the window treatments on both windows....

I usually had burgundy lace swags up for the Winter but I plan on using them for the Summer....

Welcome candles are in the windows as I like the light they provide to the room....

Angels hung from the curtain rods using shower curtain hooks!!!!

In the middle of the windows.....

Both of my sons favorite Christmas stories was A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens....

They liked the Ghosts in the story, especially Joey!!!!

Many years ago, I bought 3 sets of these figures in Boscov's for Christmas...One for Jim's room, one for Joey's room and one for me....

I think we have seen every movie version of this story!!!!

On top of the computer armoire......

A Thomas Kinkade Village.....

A Thomas Kinkade Christmas plate.....

Thomas Kinkade houses.....

I hung the sled that Joe bought from the Amish Farmer, that I painted and decorated, on the wall.....

And this is where I will end for today......

On Sunday, I will be sharing the rest of the Den, including 2 more Trees.....

The China Cupboard......

And my Victorian Doll House, Nelson Crest.....

So I hope you will stop by to visit again on Sunday for my final post of my Room by Room Christmas Home Tour!!

  5. Debbie, beautiful as ever. I really love your Thomas Kincade houses. 22 trees! WOW! I was just thinking this morning that I have 3 trees up this year. Usually I have four when I decorate the guest room and, from back in the day, that was unheard of. I don't ever remember anyone having more than one tree in my family. I probably have enough ornaments kicking around for 22 trees, but decorating one just wears me out any more..Merry Christmas to you and your family..xxoJudy
