Christmas Front Yard and 1st Snow of the Season 2016!!

In my previous post, I took you outside to show you how I decorated the Front Porch for Christmas this year........
If you missed that post, please click HERE

In this post, I will be sharing how I decorated our small front yard and the first snow of the Season!!
We live in a row of 10 townhouses with a parking lot in front of them as we do not have garages.

There are 13 steps to walk up to get to the front of our house and these photos were taken down in the parking lot....
But first, I want to Thank Karren, over at Oh My Heartsie Girl, for featuring my post, Craft Room Christmas Tree, from last week's Friday Feature Linky Party!!
Thanks so much, Karren!!

I also want to Thank Michael, over at Rattlebridge Farm, for featuring my post, It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas which was posted over on my regular blog, from last week's Foodie Friday and Everything Else party!!

Thanks so much, Michael!!

Please stop by and link up to these great parties!!!
I took these photos the weekend before Thanksgiving when we had our first snowfall........
You can see that it was still snowing lightly........

You may remember that I added a wooden "B" to this sled as part of the makeovers I did on a few of the outside decorations.......
I just LOVE how everything looks with a little bit of snow, don't you?????
If you missed the post  I did on Updating Some of Our Outside Decorations, please click HERE

This is our front porch and yard as it looks when you walk up the steps to the top......

Past the front porch is the small flower bed under our Living Room window......
There are LED net lights on the 2 shrubs with my chippy angel that is in the front yard year round but is now placed in the middle of the flower bed......
I elevated her this year by placing her on top of an empty pot.......
And placed a pot filled with some branches, that Joe clipped off of an evergreen in the woods near our home, in front of her.......

You can see better  in this photo with out the snow.......
I bought this angel many years ago at Target on clearance after Christmas.....
My Christmas mini flags.....
On the wall separating our yard from my neighbor's ( which you have to walk down 3 steps to) is the urns that I saved from being thrown in the trash by our Church....
Last year, I created topiaries for them by attaching garland to tomato cages.......
The topiaries are topped with w red velvet bow and decorated with pine cones.....
Our small front yard.......
Over on the far left of our yard........
I moved my faux mailbox from the back yard back out to the front yard for the Winter.....
Again. loving the snow on top of the mail box......
I decorated it by simply wrapping some garland, 2 different kinds like I have on the porch railing and around the front door, around the base and adding a bow....
I placed a small pot filled with greenery underneath to finish it off.......
My park bench that I love to decorate for every season.....
Here is a better look at it , without the snow........
What you see in the background behind those bare trees is the back and the roof of Lowe's.......

We live behind a huge shopping center........

Garland is wrapped around the top of the bench......
A faux poinsettia and a terra cotta angel from the back yard sits on the bench.....
There is a flameless candle in the lantern.....
Over on the right side of the yard........
Without the snow.........
 Another Christmas mini flag.......

I wrapped some garland and bows around the necks of Mr. and Mrs, Deer........
Making them look a bit more festive....
And that is how I decorated the front yard........
This is what our back yard looked like with the first snowfall of the Season!!

I will be doing an Evening Tour closer to Christmas so you will get to see how the front of our house looks all lit up at night.......

Up next, I will be sharing how I decorated my new Sitting Room for Christmas.........
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE THE TOUR........

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

  1. Oh Debbie your yard looks just fantastic! I adore all of the touches of red. Of course the sprinkling of snow helps to make it magical. I need to get nutcrackin and get to decorating my own yard. I just finished up my latest round of college finals on Friday and will finally have a bit more time to create fun things. Blessings of the season to you!

  3. Oh, Debbie! How I'd love to walk up those steps to the BRIGHT of that front door! I wouldn't even have to go inside---I'd just stand there as the snow fluttered down, looking my eyes full of that warm, welcoming array. In all these PINKS and pale colours that I'm surrounded with this year, my heart simply sighs at the familiar, wonderful greens and whites with the perfect punctuation of the reds. It's like a perfect tableau from my childhood, when everything Christmas was enchanting.

Stay well and warm, my faraway friend.

    1. Gina,
Thanks so much for stopping by!! I could not find any other way to get in touch with you so I am responding here. Truth be told, I use 2 large suction cups per wreath!! I have done this for 20 + years and never has a wreath fallen off the window!! And I live on top of a hill that gets quite a good amount of wind!!
      Hope this helps!!
      Thanks again!
      Hugs,
      Deb

  8. It looks wonderful and you are right with the snow it is just that much prettier but I still am not a snow person anymore, the older I get the less I care for dealing with it, shoveling, walking in it, but it sure makes everything more special I think :)
