Christmas in the Living Room, Part 2, Christmas Home Tour 2015

Welcome to Christmas in the Living Room, Part 2!!
If you missed Christmas in the Living Room, Part 1, please click HERE!

Let's start where we left off in Part 1........

Over in this corner next to the Dining Room......
On the wall.......
The large round table in the corner.......
On this table is a set bought many years ago at Sam's Club......
On the floor by the table are a family of Bearington Bears.....
   My "Faux" Window......
A Wreath I received from Tree Classics and decorated.......
 A plaque that I made......
 Tree # 16
The Living Room is decorated in red, green and gold and so is this Tree......
It also has a Victorian theme......
The Tree is topped with a Gold Topper and a bow made out of a ribbon with red and white candles on it.....
I also tucked gold branches into the Tree.....
I have used this ribbon through out the Living Room on the many swags that I made.......
An angel is hung right under the Bow.......
On the Tree are candle ornaments that I bought at J.C. Penney's.......
I bought red candle ornaments this year at Michaels......
And red rose ornaments in Big Lots.....
Most of my ornaments on this Tree are Victorian themed......
Let's take a closer look.......
And some ornaments that I made over the years......
I set up a Village underneath the Tree every year.......
37 years ago, when I first got married, my Dad built me this platform.....

As a child, we always had a platform under the Tree.....
I covered mine in white felt fabric
This village is made by Lemax and I started collecting pieces in 1981 when our oldest son was born.......
Each year, I add a piece even though now it is something small as I am running out of room.....

The lighthouse commemorates our yearly vacation to Wildwood, N.J. and the lighthouses in North Wildwood and Cape May.
The blue restaurant is Joseph's Seafood Shack and pays homage to Joe's love of lobster and the fact that he makes one mean lobster!!
This year, I added the white fence which I had from a Plasticville Set.....
This fence reminds me of the fence that my Dad built and had on the platform when I was a child.....

The Carolers in front of the church remind me of those that my parents had when I was a child.....
This Queen Anne Victorian house with the wrap around front porch is the house of my dreams.....
I bought this Post Office many years before Joe became a Mail Man!!
Maybe it foretold of things to come.......

The covered bridge pays homage to the covered bridges in Pennsylvania where we live.....
The Department Store gives a nod to both Joe's and my love of shopping and finding a good deal!!
So you see, this Village has a special meaning to me......

And as I lay under the Tree assembling it every year, I think of my Dad doing the very same thing when I was a child.

So I will continue to display this village under our Tree as long as I physically can.....

This is a 3 tier table that my Mother-in-law gave me that was from her cousin's house.....
On the top shelf......
The middle shelf.......
And the bottom shelf.......
I have a few vintage putz houses displayed on this shelf.....
On the side of the shelf.....
Sitting on a Christmas Storage box in which I store my Christmas Movie DVD's in, is my very first "Praying Santa" that my Mother in Law made for me many years ago when she did ceramics.......
This lead to a Collection which I will share with you in a minute.....

A Teddy Bear nutcracker......
The top of the TV Stand which I treat as a mantle........
The Caroler set was bought at Sam's Club many years ago.......
The Mercury Trees were bought at Sam's Club last year.....
The pine Trees were bought at Bed, Bath and Beyond last year......
Next to the TV Stand.....
A small round table.......
Displayed on this table is my small Collection of "Praying Santa's"
A small one that I bought at a Church Flea Market......
In the frame is a Christmas card that we sent many years ago........
And a small "Praying Santa" picture frame and an ornament that says " Jesus is the Reason for the Season", which I bought in J.C. Penney's last year......

This one I bought in a Specialty Shop......
When my sons were children, I bought this book at a local Catholic Religious Shop......
 The Author
I won't show any of the book because of this.....
But it is a lovely book for children bringing together both aspects of Christmas.....
On the wall by the front door.....
Down the Hall to the Kitchen......
Hanging on a Mirror between the hall closet and the Powder Room door.....
This wreath used to hang on my "faux" window in the Living Room.......
 A cute stocking......
And that completes my Christmas Home Tour of the inside of our house.....

Next up on my Christmas Home Tour is the Outside of our House decorated for Christmas.
I thought by showing the outside of our house last, we would have had some snow by now......
But no such luck this year......
We will have record breaking temps. here in NEPA on Christmas!!
Depriving me of my White Christmas which I wish for every year......

  4. How neat that you are carrying on the tradition your Dad started with the platform around the tree, like the fence addition tying it all together. Your plaque is so pretty as are all your victorian ornaments
