Christmas Front Porch and Yard, Christmas Home Tour 2015

Welcome to Christmas Front Porch and Yard, Christmas Home Tour 2015

I usually start my annual Christmas Home Tour with the outside of our home but this year, I sort of went backwards and ended with the outside of our townhouse decorated for Christmas.
The reason for this is that I was hoping to take the photos of the outside with some snow.

But we have not even had our first inch of snow yet and it is predicted to reach an all time record breaking high of close to 70 degrees here on Christmas Day!!

REALLY??????

This is Northeastern Pa.!! How depressing to have a green warm and rainy Christmas!!

I am one of those fans of a WHITE CHRISTMAS and dream and pray for one every year!

This year only proves to me that I would NEVER( no offense to those that do) live in a warmer climate especially at Christmas. I love me my change of Seasons!!

Okay, let me get off my soapbox........

Our Front Porch.......
Some of these photos were taken at dusk and some in the early morning ( when it was drizzling since we have also had rain and NO SNOW!!)

I have pretty much decorated the front of our house in the same fashion for many years......
But there are some new things here and there this year.......

I have used the same garland that I bought on Clearance in Walmart about 10 years ago but after staying out all Winter ( I leave it out and decorate the front of the house for Winter) , I noticed that the wire that holds the garland together was rusting out and it was breaking into pieces.

I managed to buy the last 2 packs of a garland at Big Lots that I wanted after Christmas last year and I was lucky that they carried the same type this year.

I weaved the old garland and the new garland together.....
The new one has the red berries and some cashmere branches on it.....
I am happy with how it looks.....
I also wired 2 pathway Trees together to form one Tree to use in this urn that I bought in the Spring......
These trees were used last year in the large urns in the flower bed under the Living Room window.
This year, I used tomato cages, wired a wreath to the bottom of each, wrapped garland around them , added lights, and pine cones the I painted the tips white and a red velvet bow on top!
I used hooks to anchor them into the urns.....

More on these later.........
I topped the tree in the black urn with two bows that I already had, one burlap and a red velvet one that I had originally used in the Living Room several years ago....
 On the porch....
 The Front Door....
For the last few years, there were red glittered ornaments on this wreath but being out in the weather, they faded so I removed them and replaced them with red velvet poinsettias.....
Next to the door, is my childhood sled and a wooden reindeer made by my oldest son when he was in Cub Scouts.....
My weeping mortar allows me to hang things off of it........
Wreaths hang on the windows and in the middle of the house..........
A tin pocket filled with Christmas greenery and a bow hangs from the porch light.....
The wooden "sled" was made by my youngest son in Cub Scouts......
Bows and Bells added to the Tree in the corner of the porch.........
A Lantern on the table in the corner..........
The flameless candle is on a Timer.......
I moved these deer that were out in the flower bed that runs along the sidewalk onto the porch for the Winter......
On the railing are bells, bows and Edison lights!!!
See the Edison style lights that Joe loved and bought????
Bells bought on Clearance last year at Sears....
Faux greenery fills the 2 planters in front of the railing.....
The flower bed under the Living Room window......
I painted this sled last year.......
After looking at these photos of it, I think I will paint a "B" on it for Barna..........
My chippy angel........
No, that is not snowflakes falling in the above photo, that is RAIN!!!!
Here are my tomato cage topiaries.......
I need to find more pine cones to add to them but the ones on the side of the road are a bit soggy right now!!

My garden bench in the front of the house.......
There is also an Edison style light bulb in the lantern......
A flameless candle on a Timer is in this lantern too........
Our decorative mailbox.....
Usually we have a spotlight shining on the middle of the house but after digging it out of piles of snow all Winter long, we decided not to use it this year.......
This is what the front of our house looked like last year on November 26th at the start of a snow storm that dumped 7 inches of snow on NEPA!!
But this Christmas, it looks like I will have to settle for this!!
I hope you will join me for my next post when I share my "other" house, "Nelson Crest" , all decked out for Christmas!!

I know this winter has been just crazy with the warmer temperatures, I think snow is pretty but I don't like dealing with it anymore.
