Christmas in the Living Room, Vignettes, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

Today, I will be finishing my tour of our Living Room decorated for Christmas....

But first, I want to Thank, over at The French Ethereal, for featuring my post, Christmas In the Kitchen, Vignettes, from last week's Share Your Style Link Party!!
Thanks so much, Barb!!

In previous post, I shared my larger Victorian Tree and Village in the Living Room...
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

And I also shared the entry and this corner of the Living Room....
Click HERE if you missed this post.....

In this post, I am going to show you the rest of the Living Room.....
Across from the corner by the stairs that I shared in my last post.....
My vintage styled stereo system on a table that we bought in an Antique Marketplace....
On top of the stereo is a vintage milk glass lamp.....
Old World styled Santa's......
Santa and his sled snow globe.......
A vintage Christmas tea cup and saucer and a coffee cup with 2 of my childhood Knee Hugger elves inside....
The cubby holes of the table allows me to display more of my Christmas treasures.....
This is a Byer's Choice Caroler....
A Lenox House that was gifted to me.....
On the floor is a battery operated lighted angel....
You can see into the Dining Room....
On the soffit that divides the Living Room and Dining Room.....
In the corner by the Dining Room....
In my last post, I mentioned that I moved the Nativities that I had displayed in the hutch other years, out to other places......
This is where I decided to put the large Nativity set that I have...

I hung an ornament on the lamp shade....
A battery operated candle rests on my carousel horse clock.....
I also added red and gold bottle brush trees.......
A vintage Christmas hanky.......

My faux window that I made out of a mirror......
I like to hang seasonal wreaths on this mirror......
2 vintage looking Christmas plaques that I made along with 2 ornaments....
On the other side.....
A swag I made hangs on the drapes....
On the side of the TV Entertainment Center, is a vintage 3 tiered table......
The top shelf....
The other shelves.....
These 2 pretty bells were bought recently at my favorite place to shop and look for Christmas inspiration, Country Folk....
After I finish my Christmas Home Tour, I will be doing 2 posts featuring Country Folk......
On top of the TV Entertainment Center.....
I did this a bit differently this year where I moved one of the gold tinsel Trees that I used to have on the Dining Room buffet here along with 2 evergreen and 2 gold branch Tree, all battery operated and set on a timer to light up....
The Caroler set was bought at Sam's Club many years ago....
You can see the Trees are lit......
I decorated the gold tinsel tree with snowflakes.....
And a few red ornaments.....
I also added 2 bottle brush trees.....

Bearing Bears on the floor in front of the TV Entertainment Center..
You may remember that while I was recovering from my knee replacement surgery, I finally finished this counted cross stitch Christmas table topper that I started 40 years ago!!!
Well, here is where I decided to display it.....
I thought it would be perfect on this table with my Santa reading to Children Sam's Club set.....
Again, I added red and gold bottle brush trees......
This is one of my favorite Sam's Club's sets......
On the right side of the door when you walk in is a marble topped stand.....
A larger hurricane style candle holder that Joe bought at Wegman's on Clearance one Summer....
An apothecary jar underneath.....
And that concludes my Christmas tour of the Living Room decorated......
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I changed up some things a bit and hearing why so many of my decorations have special meaning to me and my family......

Joe is known to be very lucky when it comes to winning things.....

I always attributed it to him stepping in a lot of dog poop when he worked as a Letter Carrier for the US Post Office!!!!

But now that he is retired, I would like to think that his luck is because when he wins on the Lottery, we share the wealth.......

He always tips the people who cash in his winning ticket and gives him the money that he wins....

We always share some with our kids including our DIL and we usually make a few charitable donations......

With in one week, Joe won $500 on a Scratch Off Lottery ticket, not once.....
But twice.....
It will come in handy for Christmas and once again, we shared the wealth with others.....

I did all my baking over 2 days.......
5 batches of cookies and one double batch.....

Joe picked up the Polish nut roll that we get every year.....
And I have 4 zucchini breads in the freezer that I made in the Fall.....

So now I am ready for company...

I have several get togethers with friends and family planned.....

My Christmas Home Tour is winding down with only one room left to show you, the Den.....
Which will be my next post......

I also still have to show you the front of our house decorated for Christmas which I did myself, 7 months after knee replacement surgery including getting up on a ladder to hang the garland and wreath in the middle of the house!!!
Still lots to share so I do hope you will come back to visit again!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. I really enjoy your home tour. You have so many lovely things. I am in love with your tree skirt. I have some projects like that (in the waiting pile). The scenes on the skirt are precious.

  2. Wow! So much to see I would find it hard to find favorites! You've obviously decorated your home with love.

I wanted to find a way to thank you for helping Liberty pick her features for the Best of the Weekend. It was a delightful surprise to see that you included my Twelve Days of Christmas tables.

    Merry Christmas!

  4. The best decorations are those with special meaning, I think. So very special. Lucky you with your baking. I haven't started and my oven broke today!

  7. I can't believe how quickly Christmas snuck up on me this year, less than 6 days away now while I'm writing this post. Your house is beautifully and bountifully decorated, as always, Debbie. I love the Christmas plates on the three tier table in the living room, and the beautiful Christmas wreath on the mirror with the lights on it. A veritable feast for the eyes! I follow your decorating idea of more is better only when it comes to decorating my Christmas tree. This year I switched to a much smaller (shorter) tree, it's only 5 feet tall and I have it on a table in front of my large picture window so it can be better seen from the sidewalk and the street. I put nearly as many decorations on it as I used to put on my 6.5' tall tree, which was honorably "retired" at the end of last Christmas after serving me faithfully for 12 years. I like to layer decorations on my tree like you layer your entire house with your decorations! I don't have that energy, or that stash, for that matter! I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and a wonderful healthy and prosperous New Year.
