Christmas in the Den,Tree and Vignettes, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

Today, we are moving into the Den on my Christmas Home Tour.......

The Den was once the patio of our townhouse which was open to the yard......

Before we even moved in, my Dad had enclosed it and made it a porch......

Later, he made it into another room of the house by taking out the Kitchen window and back door, taking out a wall that was part of a large storage room , added heat and insulation and put in new windows......

The Den is a small room with odd measurements because of what it once was.....8' by 20'....

This is now my room so to speak  but it used to be my son's play room and once held every game system known to man.......

This area of the Den was once part of a large storage room......
My Dad took down the wall and the door into the storage area and made the room much larger.....
The door with the mirror on was once the storage room door......

On the side of that door......
I bought this mailbox in Michael's last year......
The color theme of this room is blue, ivory and burgundy and I have also used those colors when decorating for Christmas......
I hung a wreath that I made on the door to what is left of the storage room......
And a burgundy velvet stocking.....

This calendar hangs on the door of a pantry closet that I had my Dad make for me when he was changing the room over to a den from a porch......
This is my little corner......
I sit in this chair with my feet up on the ottoman with my lap top......
When Joe is watching his hockey and Pittsburgh Steelers on the larger TV in the Living Room, I sit out here in my corner and watch my TV shows that I tape via DVR.....
On the wall above the TV.......
I bought this set of Carolers at Country Folk Gifts about 15 years ago......
I made the swag.....
"Twas the Night Before Christmas" book box......
The sweet little mouse is holding a sign " Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse"

The TV sits on a reproduction oak Ice Box which Joe and I hauled out of a basement at an estate sale for $15!!

Bottle brush trees and putz houses are on the side of the TV.....
In the corner........
The Believe sign and mirror help disguise the electrical box......
My Mother......
Joe bought this table which was one of 2 at a church flea market for $6.00 each and I refinished them......
This vignette helps hide the modems and router and yes, we still have a land line phone......
A burgundy pocket planter is filled with greenery and will stay this way through out the Winter.....

I bought my Woodland Santa and Snowman in Burlington a few years ago......
You may remember the Tree that I made out of wooden spoons from ice cream cups......
It fits in nicely with this display.....
Snowmen under glass......
The birch branch Tree comes on by timer.....
Above my chair......
Victorian style plates and a Christmas book box.....
On the shelf under the picture.....
A dapper looking snow man sits on the top of the chair....
The back door.......
I made the swag above the door.....
And angel hangs on the curtain rod......

A small wreath that I made hangs on the door.....
In the middle of it is an ornament that Joe bought for me when he and my son, Joey, visited Punxsutawney in the Fall as part of a trip to Pittsburgh.....
On the side of the door is my Thomas Kinkade clock......
On the shelf below is a Thomas Kinkade Christmas angel......
I have a lot of my Thomas Kinkade items in this room......

On the other end table is a 4 foot table top tree that I bought many years ago in Target at 75% off for $10!!
A few years ago, I discovered that you can trim a faux tree by using wire clippers to trim the branches giving it a slimmer look.......
I decorated this Tree in shades of burgundy and ivory and in a Victorian theme......
The ivory beaded garland is embossed with roses......
A bow made from a rich burgundy velvet ribbon tops the Tree.....
And an Angel hangs in the middle at the top of the Tree......
I also have a lot of Thomas Kinkade ornaments on this Tree.....
A few candle ornaments are attached to the Tree giving it that Victorian feel.......
 Burgundy velvet roses......
And burgundy roses with gold glitter tips are tucked into the Tree......
I will let  the rest of the photos do the talking.....
An ivory tree skirt covers the table that the Tree is on......
A vintage nativity scene and a few putz style houses create a little village under the Tree.....
Some new putz houses....
Some vintage......
On the side of the Tree on a burgundy velvet ottoman......
This burgundy Old World Santa was bought at Sam's Club a very long time ago and the deer was bought at Big Lot's......
On the wall between the windows are shelves......
Above the shelves hangs a quote from A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens......
On the shelves are figures from a Christmas Carol that I have had for many years.....
They were given away for free at Boscov's with each visit at Christmas.....

In this corner is the armoire that houses my main computer......
On top of the computer armoire.......

I have changed up things a bit here as I had passed on some Christmas decorations at the end of last Season to my niece, Renae......

I'll call this my Angel display.......
Since I have the Guardian Angel picture hanging on the wall behind the armoire, I kept out the matching figurine which are both Home Interiors items.....
A Lenox candle holder and a Thomas Kinkade Christmas house.....
The large burgundy angel was bought at an estate sale.....
The Ice Church was gifted to me by my friend, Anne Marie......
I bought the blue bottle brush tree at Big Lot's.....
I left out my Thomas Kinkade clock  this year.....

Another angel under a glass dome.....
On the side of the computer armoire.....
A wreath that I made and an angel hanging beneath it.....
A Trans Siberian Orchestra that Joe bought for me this year hangs in the center of the wreath.....

This stand, which actually is an ash tray, was used in our bedroom for my make up mirror and I decided to move it down into the Den.....
It fits perfectly between the computer armoire and the Doll House.....

Since I had room this year, I decided to leave this large bird cage out and just decorate it for Christmas......
I placed a Santa head on a tin inside and a candle ring on top.......
I placed it in a galvanized metal tray, added a small evergreen wreath around it and tucked in other greenery picks and 2 burgundy velvet roses......

The shelves underneath are perfect for 2 more Thomas Kinkade houses......
And this is where we will leave off for today.......

I am getting ready for several luncheons and a family party that I will be hosting at our home this week but I fear some Winter weather may play havoc with my plans.......

We will also be attending my great niece Caitlin's Dance recital this coming Saturday which she is dedicating to her Dad, my late nephew John.....

I forgot to mention in my last post that we celebrated my younger son Jim's Birthday last Saturday, December 7th........
It is hard for me to think that he is 36 years old!!

Jim and his wife Danielle are working long and crazy hours at Target for the Christmas Season......
They sometimes have to be at work at 4 am and then at 10 pm the next day as they do stock and Jim unloads the trucks.......

Even though they won the Lottery last year, they are still working hard and acted smartly by investing the money that they won.....

We could not be prouder of them......

Joe prides himself on his crazy Christmas tee shirts that he wears to work at Wegman's.....
I have been posting them on my face book site so I thought I would share them here too.....

These are 2 new ones he bought this year.....
Joe works mostly in The Cafe at Wegman's and we do have quite a large Jewish population here in NEPA so he bought this one to be All Inclusive.......
A man who he checked out the other day asked where he bought it because the man was Jewish and his wife is Catholic and he wanted to buy 4 tee shirts for himself, his wife and his 2 children so Joe sent him to J.C. Penney's!!!

I hope they had 4 there for him to buy for his family.....

I hate to have my picture taken but Joe insisted when we went to Country Folk last weekend......
You can see how happy I was about it by the look on my face!!

I will be sharing pictures of Country Folk in upcoming posts.....

But in my next post, I will be sharing the rest of the Den decorated for Christmas......

The Doll House......
And the China Cupboard.......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

I am having trouble with this blogging stuff again and everyone is comimg to me as a non-comment so I am going to be leaving comments under each post from now on so hope you will want to come back to see. 8. I love your Dickens Christmas decorations around the house. I can feel the love you put in every vignette and corner of your lovely home.
The Thomas K. plates are so pretty. I always drooled over his advertising on my Good Housekeeping monthly magazines. It's sad he died.
    Great Xmas tree too.
Lots of wonderful things to see here as usual.
    Hugs,
    Fabby
