Christmas Tour of the Upstairs Hall, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

Today, I am starting my Christmas Home Tour for 2019!!!!

While the downstairs was decorated for Fall and Halloween, I decorated the upstairs for Christmas in October......

Now, I know many of you are saying that I rush the Holidays and should wait until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas....

To explain why I start so early, this is what I wrote last year when I posted a Home Tour of all my Christmas decorations and the 28 decorated Trees in our house!!

You can click HERE to see the tour of our house from last year....

"I read a post the other day where the author complained that it took her 4 days to decorate!!!!

I laughed!!!

HYSTERICALLY!!!!!

People often ask me how long it takes for me to decorate my entire house.....

Now I have to say that I not only pack up all my normal everyday things but I also clean them so that I will not have to do it when I unpack them to put them back out.

I also give each room a good cleaning so that all I do is dust with Swifter dusters for the rest of the Holiday Season.....

Well, here is the breakdown:

Upstairs Hallway: 1 day
Upstairs Bathroom: 1 day
Master Bedroom: 2 days
Sitting Room: 3 days
Craft Room: 2  days
Front of the House: 2-3 days
Living Room: 4 days
Dining Room: 3 days
Kitchen: 3 days
Powder Room: 1-2 days
Den: 3 days
Doll House: 1 day

So it takes me roughly 25 days!!!!!"

Yep!!

Roughly 25 days!!

Now I ask you......

How can I possibly do all that after Thanksgiving and still get any joy out of the Christmas season....

We also celebrate both my sons Birthday's in December so now maybe you can understand why I HAVE to start so early!!!

Now that my reasons for starting to decorate for Christmas before Thanksgiving are cleared up....

Welcome to my 2019 Christmas Home Tour!!

Since the upstairs has been decorated since October, this is where we will start...

So let's go upstairs.....
This is what you see when you walk up the steps......
The first thing that is going to catch your eye is the wreath on the railing at the top of the steps......
Last year, I decided to hang a wreath on the railing instead of doing garland because it makes it easier for me to hold on to the railing.....

Remember that I had my knee replacement surgery in April.....

This is the wreath that I used last year.....
I decided to spruce it up a bit and added a second wreath and parts of 2 magnolia sprays to it.....
You can read about this wreath and other Christmas Crafting that I have been doing by clicking HERE
I added a set of battery operated fairy lights to it to light the way upstairs....
I am happy with the way it came out......

At the top of the stairs.......
These pictures were taken from my bedroom door way......
I display my collection of vintage Lusterware dishes in the upstairs hall.......
And I decorate it in a white and gold color theme for Christmas.......
Last year, to make things easier on me, I decided to keep up the gold bows and sage green ferns year round.....
And just add the gold glittered branches to it for Christmas.....

This wall is painted peach to match the Living Room while the hall upstairs is painted tan.....

I hope to strip the border off and paint this hall peach in the Spring....
A Dollar Tree gold star hangs at the top of the mirror......
White and gold berry branches and a white magnolia were added to the spray in the gold planter that hangs under the mirror.....
To the right of the mirror is a corner shelf .......
A gold glittered tree on top of a vintage wall mounted corner shelf......
A white lantern on the top shelf corner unit......
I added gold berries, ferns and gold ornaments for a touch of Christmas to the existing displays.....

I bought these paper mache Angels at a church flea market about 3 years back......
The nativity scene was bought at Target many years ago......
The candles are battery operated and come on by Timer in the evening.....
On the floor on each side of the corner shelf.....
A Bearington Bear Angel.......
And a Victorian Doll that I moved up here from the Living Room.....
Looking from the Bathroom door way.....
On the other wall.....
An antique mantle mirror with a white and gold angel and gold glittered ornaments hanging on it......
On the shelf below the mirror.....
Simple additions of gold berries and ornaments.....
An old Home and Garden Party picture.....
Even though it technically is not a Tree, I consider this grouping of white branches a Tree decorated for Christmas......
It is located right outside of the Master Bedroom......

I decorate it with gold glittered branches tucked into it and gold ornaments......
An Angel ornaments hangs on the vase that the branches are in......

It is lit with battery operated fairy lights.....
So this is the first decorated "Tree" that I am sharing......

On the pedestal that it stands on.......
Gold trees and a gold church.....
On the opposite wall.......
I wanted to show you where I put the rugs that were in my downstairs hall when we first remodeled 6 years ago.....
When we bought new rugs this past Summer, I put the old ones up here in the hall.....
This is the wall that is opposite the 2 bedrooms that were once my sons that are now the Sitting Room and my Craft Room......
More Lusterware is displayed here......
Again, I added white and gold Christmas touches.......
A tussie mussie that I made hangs on the mirror.....
Another gold glittered tree on the top shelf.....
Another white lantern......
And a gold Santa that I bought last year in Big Lot's.....
This shelf I bought in Salvation Army a few years ago .......
It was narrow enough to fit here in the hall......

Gold glittered reindeer on the top shelf.....
Amazing how the addition of a few gold berries and ornaments change existing displays into Christmas displays, isn't it????
A Gold glittered sleigh and another reindeer....
More gold glittered sleighs......
Gold churches on the bottom shelf.....
It took me 1 day to clean, haul down the decorations from the attic and decorate the hall for Christmas.......

I hope you enjoyed seeing how just adding a few simple things could make an area look like Christmas!!

Now that I am no longer working, I am taking my time packing up Halloween and Fall decorations downstairs and decorating for Christmas.....

This past week, I worked in the Kitchen.......

It took me 4 days to pack up Fall and Halloween decorations, clean, haul down the Christmas decorations from the attic and from the storage area under the stairs and decorate for Christmas.....

This was at least a day longer than usual because I took time out to make curtains and valances for the Kitchen and since I bought a few new things to replace a bunch of things that I passed on at the end of last Season, I totally rearranged how I usually decorate the Kitchen!!!!

Here is a little sneak peek of the Kitchen's new Christmas look......

No more garland above the sink......
A Gingerbread Village on top of the stove....
Galley sign and reworking of the garland above the counter bar.....
Sweet Shop on the hutch desk using the beautiful tiered hostess gift that 2 of my friends gave me when they visited a few weeks ago.....
And a few new things underneath the desk area of the hutch......
Like I said, the Kitchen took me 4 days but it usually only takes me 3 days......

In my next post, on my Christmas Home Tour, I will be sharing the Trees in our Master Bedroom.....
And the Tree in the upstairs Bathroom.......
Along with a few Christmas decorations in those rooms.......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!
