Christmas in the Sitting Room, New Tree, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

Today, I am back on track with My Christmas Home Tour and willing be sharing the last room upstairs, the Sitting Room.....

I have decided to share it in 2 posts as I have added a few new things and changed some things around....

But first, I want to Thank Kathy over at A Delightsome Life, for featuring my post, A Bit of Christmas Crafting, from last week's Home and Garden Link Party!!!
Thanks so much, Kathy!!

And I also want to Thank Barb. over at The French Ethereal, for choosing my post, Christmas at Big Lot's and New Christmas Buys, from last week's Share Your Style Link Party!!
Thanks so much, Barb!!!

Please stop by and link up to these wonderful parties!!

I have a new Tree in this room this year.....

The 6 ft. White Tree that I have had for several years, was starting to look dirty so I opted to get rid of that Tree and went with a 4 1/2 foot white Tree.......

It looked a bit sparse when I first fluffed it out.....
So I added some white tulle wrapped around the center of the Tree like I had done with the old one.....
I wanted an Un-Lit Tree because I truly find Pre Lit Trees to be a pain as the lights do not last and I always need to add more anyway......
This is the corner in the Sitting Room where the Tree goes.......
Buying a table top Tree will save me the trouble of having to take down the table and haul everything from it up the attic.....
Now, everything from the table is stored underneath it!!!

The Tree fit perfectly in this space!!

Amazingly, I was able to decorate it with everything that I had from the larger Tree!!!!!
I started with 3 strands of beads....green, bright pink and aqua......
I topped it off with a bow made from 3 different ribbons and a vintage style topper bought at Target many years ago....
Bright pink ornaments were tucked inside the Tree....
Streamers of the different ribbons encircle the top of the Tree.....

I decided to decorate this Tree using solid color ornaments in bright pink, green and aqua along with all my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments in those colors......
In past years, I had used some of vintage ornaments on the garland on my faux fireplace........

I decided not to do that this year.....

Okay, let's take a closer look at this Tree.......
Behind the Tree in the corner are plates made by my niece Lisa, for each of my sons when they were born.....
You can see that I added bright pink icicles to this Tree instead of using them on the smaller Tree on the mantle....
Baby's First Christmas Ornaments for each of my sons.....
I am really quite thrilled with how this Tree came out......
I set up a small little Village underneath the Tree......
I changed out the tablecloth and topper for the table ......
These are actually from the round table in my Dining Room......

Both old and new Putz Houses......
Crocheted Trees bought many years ago stand in the back area of the table.....
Let me show you the area around the Tree.....
 The wash stand......
I tucked a few Bright Pink glittered spray into the floral arrangement in the pitcher....
The Garden Chandy hangs above the Tree in the corner....
I hung a Bright Pink ornament in the center.....
To the side of the Tree.....
Are a few mirrors including a window mirror.....
A Santa head rests in a votive candle holder.....
Beneath the mirrors .......
A Victorian boot and ice skates.....
I sat my son's Cabbage Patch dolls on the chair next to the Tree.....

As we go around the room, I want to show you something that I did in the Summer but never got around to sharing......

When cleaning out my neighbor Elly's house, we had found a small table that was once mine that I had given to Elly......
I painted it white and since it was the perfect size to place another table that I already had in the Sitting Room on top of, I created this shelf unit on the left......
Originally, I had not wanted a TV in this room when I changed it from a Guest Room to a Sitting Room but since my son was going to give away this small TV that I had given him, I decided to take it back and use it for this room.......
Truth be told, we never got around to hooking it up before I started to decorate so I packed it away and will get it hooked up after the Holidays are over......

I do like the way these shelf units look side be side....
This is how I decorated it for Christmas.......
A white putz village bought many years ago in Target sits on top of the shelf......
On the next shelf is my Plasticville pieces that are reminiscent of my childhood.....
The chalk figures were my Mother's as a child and she would have been 100 years old this year....
The blue cottage, barn and animals were my parent's and I used to love to play with them before we put them under the Tree and my son's also got to play with them when they were young....
On top of the middle shelf......
2 cute light up snowmen that were gifted to me, a vintage box of ornaments, a putz house and a pretty Angel that lights up.......
The embroidered scarf was made by my Maternal Grandmother..

On the top of the last shelf ........

This little white Tree is decorated with pink ornaments and pieces of beaded garland draped over the branches like icicles.....
It is topped with a vintage topper.....
And this is where I will end this post since it already was a bit heavy on the pictures.....

In my next post on My Christmas Home Tour, I will be sharing my Christmas Mantle on my faux fireplace......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  3. I'm speechless. I've never seen anyone do so much decorating. I've not even given Christmas a thought yet. We might discuss it though come Thanksgiving when our daughter is here. Have you ever timed yourself to see how long it takes to gt everything out and put where you want it etc? You make me tired, lol.......looking at all you've done.

  5. Debbie, you are looking very festive over there and you are so far ahead of me. I can't wait to get started. Good idea of using the tuelle on the tree to make it look fuller and the lights glow so prettily. That little ceramic tree is not my most favorite either but I will use it again this year and we shall see if it sticks..Happy Thanksgiving to you and your sweet hubby and family..xxoJudy

  6. Wowza Debbie, you don't do things by half do you? If anyone stands still for 10 minutes in your house do they get decorated too? (I'd so love it if that were true!) What an amazing display. <3
