Christmas in the Upstairs Hallway, Christmas Home Tour, 2016

I have always decorated the upstairs hallway but this year, I added a few more decorations for very little money......

But first, I want to Thank Kathy, over at Life at Lakeshore Drive, for featuring this, my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas, as the Featured Blog of the week from last week's Bouquet of Talent Party!!
Thanks so much, Kathy, especially for your kind words which were greatly appreciated.......

I also want to Thank the Tumblewed Contessa, over at Recipes and Ramblins with The Tumbleweed Contessa, for featuring my post, Craft Room Tree, Christmas Home Tour, 2016,  as the Most Viewed  from last week's What'd You Do This Weekend Party!!
Thanks so much!!

Please stop by and visit and link up to these great parties!!

As you walk up the stairs, you first see the railing on the right hand side.......
I used to hang lighted garland here but the truth of the matter is, with my deteriorating knee joint, I need to hang to the railing when navigating the stairs.......

So I hung 2 gold embellished stockings on the railing .......
And bows made from white and gold ribbon that I had in my stash.......
A large gold glittered ornament hangs in the middle near the bottom of the railing......

When you reach the top of the stairs, you see this on the left hand side........
I glamed up this 2 arm brass sconce with 2 Christmas candle rings, another bow made out of gold and white ribbon and a gold glittered deer head ornament that I bought at Big Lot's a few weeks ago..........
I bought 2 packs of the Deer Head ornaments.... 3 in a pack for only $4.00 each pack......

I decorated the mirror with the addition of another bow, an angel which I already had and some florals and greenery that I had in my stash.......
The greenery that looks almost aqua colored with gold tips was bought a few years ago at Michael's on Clearance for 90% off.
I bought several bunches of it and I thought that since I display my Luster Ware Collection in the upstairs hallway , that this greenery would look better than a forest green greenery.......
I also added gold ferns and white and gold poinsettias.......

I guess you can tell that white and gold is my color theme for the Christmas decorations here in the hallway......
Gold berries were tucked into a vase on the top shelf......
More florals were tucked in this pitcher along with an LED canlde on a timer for lighting.....
A few gold ball ornaments are also tucked here and there on the shelves......
Along with more gold berries.......
I bought this Nativity piece many years ago at Target..........
I also place a few greenery branches on the shelves......
Doll Head ornaments.......
Just by adding a few things, you can "Christmas up" existing decor......
I moved one of my Victorian dolls upstairs for the Season.........
And added a sweet gold and white Bearington Bear angel that Joe bought for me a few years ago......
Looking from the bathroom.......
Over on the other side of the railing......
Again, I added a bow and a deer head ornament to this brass sconce......
For some Christmas Glow, I placed a white glittered LED branch tree on a pedestal that sits next to the hamper......
It lights up on a timer......
And yes, I already had this Tree!!

I made a tiny tree skirt cut from a felt Christmas blanket, added a few berries and a gold glittered bottle brush tree bought this year at Target for $3.00!!
On the wall across before you would walk into our bedroom.......
Again, the simple addition of greenery and bows and an ornament or 2, added a bit of Christmas to existing decor.......
Looking down the hallway toward the Bathroom with doors to the Sitting Room and Craft Room on the opposite wall........
Let's look at the top half of this wall first.......
Again, this is where I display my collection of Luster ware.......

I added a bit of Christmas to this shelf unit.......
On the top of the shelf is Tree # 6
As I mentioned before, I have 20 + decorated Trees in our house this Christmas.........
Since this little gold tinsel Tree, that I recovered from the trash ( Yep, the trash), is decorated, I count it!!

I cleaned it up, took the old dirty ornaments off it and replaced them with a pack of gold ornaments from the Dollar Tree and topped it off with a gold star that I already had.......
On the shelf below, I added a gold glittered sled and a gold glittered reindeer bought at Dollar Tree......
Another deer head ornament hangs from the Tree.......

In this picture, you can see the wreath on the bathroom door reflected in the mirror.......
If you missed the post on how I decorated the upstairs Bathroom for Christmas, please click HERE

On the bottom shelf , I added greenery and another LED candle to a vase, along with some gold ornaments......
The bottom shelf unit, which I bought at Volunteer's of America Thrift Shop a few years ago......
Another Dollar Tree reindeer......
Ornaments and deer heads.......
Greenery branches and gold berries........
2 more gold sleds, also bought at Big Lot's at $4.00 for a pack of 3, a gold Christmas tree ornament that I had and another LED candle add a bit of Christmas to these bottom shelves......
And that is how, very inexpensively, I added a bit more Christmas to the upstairs hallway....
Total cost was $17.00!!

In my next post, I will be taking a break from showing you the inside of the house decorated for
Christmas......

We will be going outside to take a lot at our outside decorations on the Front Porch!!
After we got a little bit of SNOW!!!!!
So I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

CLICK HERE TO CONTINUE THE TOUR......

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

If you do not have a blog, PLEASE  give me some way to reply to your comment, maybe by including your email in your comment.  If I can not find a way to reach you, I will reply on the post where you commented so please check back......

Debbie

  5. Love the gold accents, that nativity is so pretty, such great additions for a small amount of money :) I couldn't decorate like that because my hubby tends to be very clumsy, he would have everything knocked off

  10. Debbie, I would love to do an in-person tour of your home--there would be so much to see! Love the way your personality really shines through your decorations. I can see the love in everything you do.

Please take good care of yourself. I hate that you're having to deal with a deteriorating joint. You were smart to keep the railing accessible.

    Bless you, sweet friend!
