Christmas Tree and Vignettes in the Den, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing part of the Den decorated for Christmas including the main Christmas Tree and a few Vignettes.....

The Den is the last room on my Christmas Home Tour!!

In my last post, I shared the rest of the Living Room decorated for Christmas.....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

I want to thank the Co Hosts of Family Week for choosing my post, "How I Lost 31 Pounds" as one of their features from last month's You're the Star Blog Hop!!!

Thanks so much, Michelle and Lisa!

2 more hosts were listed but I was not able to find the Link Party post on their Blogs so I was unsure if they were still participating....

Please stop by and link up to this wonderful party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

I want to show you a Christmas sweater set that I bought a long time ago in Kohls......

I wore this to church on Sunday,,,

I am now wearing slacks that are no longer Plus sized ones.....

And I am still holding steady as far as my weight goes which is my goal for the month of December...

It was in the 20's on Sunday morning so I pulled out my faux fur coat to wear....

It is reversible so I got 2 coats for the price of one!!!!

I will be reversing it on Sunday morning for Christmas Day Mass as it is supposed to be 8 degrees here....

The fur on the inside will keep me warm!!!

Even though my son Jim's Birthday was on December 7th, we finally were able to get together to celebrate it on Sunday!!

My DIL had Covid again and we have family members that work different work schedules so we kept rescheduling...

For fun, I set a fun and whimsical Birthday table!!!

Dinosaur Dynomite plates and my vintage character glassware....

Ronald McDonald for Danielle....

Elmer Fudd for Joe, of course!

Alvin from the Chipmunks for me ....

Because I still have this original album fron the 60's!!!

Road Runner for Joey as he travels the Interstate to and from work daily...

And the Hamburglar for the Birthday Boy, Jim!!

And mismatched napkins!!!

We had a good laugh over it!!

As per our tradition for the past several years, we had a pizza party and Jim chose a pepperoni pizza from Dino's in the Mall down the road from us...

We also got a bacon topped pizza.....

And a Carvel Ice Cream Cake since we are not big on baked goods....

The grand pups were the highlight of the party with their new hair cuts and sweaters!!!

They were bouncing all over so these were the best pics Igot...

They say "Let's Get Lit"!!!

I have Christmas slippers that say the same thing.....

We enjoyed celebrating Jim's 39th Birthday together even though it was a bit late but better late than never!!!

Today, I will be sharing the last room on my Christmas Home Tour for 2022.....

And that is the Den, which I decorated normally and for Christmas in a blue, burgundy and ivory color theme.....

The Den is decorated in a Victorian Charles Dicken's like style and it is also where I have most of the Thomas Kinkade items displayed....

The Den was once a patio that was open to our yard on one side, then made into an enclosed Patio and then made into another room......

All by my Dad....

When you walk into the room from the Kitchen, to the left is what is left of our storage room, as we used half of it to make the Den larger, and the pantry closet that I had my Dad make for me...

I really did not change much in this room from last Christmas...

Originally, there was just a picture of my Mother in this frame and a few years back, I changed it to both my parents....

A vintage style card tucked into the arrangement of burgundy poinsettias in this North Pole Mail Box....

A wreath I made in the colors of the room hangs on the storage room door.....

My Cynthia Hart calendar hangs on the pantry door...

This is my little corner of the Den....

When Joe is watching Hockey games on the TV in the Living Room, this is where I come to watch TV....

A swag I made with Old World like Santa's on the shelves.......

The Sleigh Riders were a gift from a friend....

The TV is set on a vintage reproduction oak "Ice Chest" that I bought at an Estate Sale for $15!!

In the corner...

Victorian style plates and a wreath I made and hung on the cover of the electrical box....

On the table in the corner....

A Woodland Snowman and Santa that I bought many years ago in Burlington....

Above the chair where I usually sit....

 More Old World Santa's.....

I framed a picture from a Thomas Kinkade calendar....

A "Twas the Night before Christmas" display ......

"Not a Creature was Stirring"

I love this cozy little corner....

The back door....

Another swag and angel.....

A tin pocket filled with gold glittered burgundy roses and greenery....

On the side of the door....

My 4 season Thomas Kinkade clock....

On the shelf...

On a table, is my 4 1/2 foot Tree which is the main Tree for this room....

It is decorated in the same color theme of burgundy and blue with gold also thrown in....

I bought the burgundy, gold and blue garland at Big Lot's a few years back in addition to the ivory beaded garland that has roses embossed on the beads....

I made a bow from an elegant burgundy velvet ribbon with a gold lami backing...

I added blue velvet ribbon for streamers....

In typical Victorian fashion, I tucked burgundy feathers and pheasant feathers into the top of the Tree.....

I bought these small dark blue ornaments in Dollar Tree to added to the Tree this year....

I will be looking for a package of larger ones to use next year .....

The ornaments on this Tree are mainly Victorian or vintage in style.....

A few years ago, I decided to move the gold candle ornaments that I had on the large Tree in the Living Room onto this Tree to create a more Victorian look.....

Last year, Joe bought several Tree Skirts at Big Lot's at 90% off including this pretty dark blue velvet like one!!!!

It was $2.06 from $26 originally....

Perfect for this Tree and this room......

I decided to do a simple display on top of it....

The Manger from my childhood Tree in my bedroom.....

A church ornament and a Thomas Kinkade mug with a small flocked tree in it...

A house ornament and another mug on this side....

On the burgundy velvet ottoman to the side of the table....

To the right side of the Tree.....

Angels hang from the ivory lace curtains on the windows.....

On Home Interiors shelves between the windows.....

Is my Collection of "Christmas Carol" figurines.....

This sign, with the quote from Charles Dicken's "Christmas Carol, hangs above it!!

Boscov's sold these a very long time ago when my sons were young and I bought 3 sets....

One for me and a set for each of my sons....

Scrooge, Bob Cratchit with Tiny Tim and the Ghosts of Christmas....

And this is where I will end this post.....

I hope you enjoyed seeing this part of the Den decorated in it's Christmas Finery....

It took me 4 days to decorate The Den for Christmas....

  1. Debbie, you are looking so good. Congratulations on your weight loss and being able to keep it off. This month is a hard one to be able to do that. Good for you. Everything looks beautiful as always. I still marvel at all the decorations that you have and use and that you are able to accomplish it all is such a short time. I don't know why it takes me so long when I don't do half as much. I am wishing for you and your family a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year, my friend..xxoJudy

  2. I think I used to have that sweater! I always loved it! I wonder what happened to it . . . Did I wear it out wearing it every December for multiple days in my office? Did I put it away with other sweaters (I am missing a red cardigan, too). I always loved it and it is just long enough, not too short.
Meanwhile your den is just lovely! You have so many pretty things and such great memory pieces.
Things are nutty than usual here with sick grandchildren. Some have ear aches, some have a stomach flu, some have fevers, I just can't win. The birthday party was adorable!
