A Thomas Kinkade Tree, Village and the China Cupboard in the Den, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing the rest of the Den decorated for Christmas including a Thomas Kinkade Village, Tree and my China Cupboard........

In my last post, I shared the main Christmas Tree in the Den along with some vignettes....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

This is what I wore for my monthly hair cut this past Tuesday.....

I cut the price tags off this Liz Claiborne velvet vest that I bought over 10 years ago and never wore...$58 originally in Penney's....$6.80 on Clearance with coupon!!

Still holding my own and maintaining my current weight which is my Goal for December.....

As of Wednesday, Joe has regretfully resigned from his job at the Toyoto Sportsplex...

As a Type II Diabetic who is currently taking an oral Hypoglycemic agent, Joe needs to eat a Dinner at a set time which working evening shifts was not allowing him to do so....

Joe hardly eats at all and trying to get him to eat prior to going work was like pulling teeth....

Consequently, his blood glucose and Hgb AIC  levels are off so after consultation with his Physician, we felt it is better that he resign rather than having his medication adjusted....

He will still help out in an emergency if needed as he will be kept on the books and after the New Year, he will look of a part time day shift job to get him out of the house which we both will need him to do!!!

LOL!!

Since we are supposed to have some crazy weather starting today with A Wintery Mix, rain, temps. in the high 40's and then a sudden drop in temps.and flash freeze with temps dropping into single digits tomorrow afternoon, I was not sure if we would have a "White" Christmas so I took a few pictures of the front of the house with a little bit of snow that we got the other day.....

We are supposed to get a few inches of snow at the end of this Armageddon but one can never be sure with the forecast....

So much for the Wintery mix of rain and sleet that they called for to start.....

I guess we will see what we finally end up with by Saturday morning when it is supposed to be 8 degrees!!!!!

We will pick up where we left off over here in this corner of the Den....

On top of the computer armoire....

Is where I set up my Thomas Kinkade Village.....

A Thomas Kinkade house under a glass dome....

A Thomas Kinkade Angel....

A Thomas Kinkade Church....

And another Thomas Kinkade house.....

Hanging on the wall.....

A sled bought from the Amish Farmer that sells produce and other things not far from our house in the Summer months.....

I taped some vintage styled cards to the sled....

On a vintage smoking stand ....

Is a white feather Tree with a vintage topper that was mine as a child and I used for the small Tree I had in my bedroom............

This Tree is decorated with ornaments that I bought a long time ago in Michael's that depict children from the 1950's.........

I placed a card on the Dollar Tree tree skirt that shows children sledding very similar to the ornaments...

On the shelves...

This is the other side of what used to be my Kitchen window....

In the Kitchen.....

In the Den.....

The chair is below the "window".....

Next to the chair is my china cupboard....

This was given to me by a nieghbor.....

It originally looked like this until I painted it and distressed it in 2012.....

And now.....

On top of the China Cupboard.....

The funny thing about this Caroler display is that almost everything was bought a local shop called Country Folks which sadly, has now closed permanently.....

The Ice Church and House were gifted to me by my friend, Anne Marie....

I bought the Caroler set after Christmas at 50% off one year from Country Folks.....

The burgundy feather tree came from Target....

The lamp post was bought at Gabes......

My Thomas Kinkade 12 month plate calendar......

To the side of the China Cupboard is a small table......

On it is a small flocked Tree that I decorated with hand made crocheted snowflakes and lit with fairy lights....

I also tucked a vintage card into the Tree.....

On the table....

Below the table.....

A set of Christmas Bearington Bears....

I set up a Snow Village inside and also on the vintage suitcases under and in front of the China Cupboard.....

A small wreath that I made hangs on the door.....

Hanging in the center of the wreath is a commemorative Trans Siberian Orchestra ornament since seeing TSO at our Arena has been my Christmas tradition for 20 + years....

We have only missed 3 years in all the time TSO has been touring for Christmas....

Click HERE if you would like to see a video of the finale of this year's Tour.....

I pretty much decorate the inside of the China Cupboard the same way each year so I am not going into detail....

Top shelf......

Middle shelf....

Bottom shelf.....

On the vintage suitcases in front of the china cupboard......

On the side of the China Cupboard....

Santa's....

An Old World burgundy Santa from Sam's Club with 2 Santa heads..

I decorated this 4 foot Tree with my Thomas Kinkade ornaments....

I used a small Santa as the topper for this Tree this year...

I used ivory beaded garland with roses embossed on them....

I also used a white tinsel garland...

Except for a few angel ornaments, this Tree is decorated with Thomas Kinkade ornaments....

I hung strands of white beaded garland like icicles on the Tree.....

I also added white iridescent candle ornaments to the Tree.......

The Tree is set in a vintage blue enamelware pot......

This China Cupboard will stay decorated like this until the end of February as I will remove Christmas items replacing them with Winter decorations after Christmas....

I hope you enjoyed the Tour of my Den decorated for Christmas.....

It took me 4 days to decorate the Den

  2. I didn't realize you were such a Kinkaid fan! I have very little of his stuff but do like it! I liked the Monet in Nelsoncrest's dining room. I save the little calendar pictures to frame! Always love seeing your treasures! Sorry about Joe's diabetes. Hope he finds something he likes as well. Been busy doing my after Christmas clearance shopping so I can Christmas craft "next year."

  4. Debbie, I love visiting your home for Christmas each year!! I so enjoy seeing all of your pretties out on display. (Where do you store them all after Christmas? There is so much.) I love the Thomas Kinkade ornaments and the house on the big angel is the Combellack-Blair house. I used to walk up and down (and drive) the street in front of it on the way to my first fiancé's house. He was also from Placerville and I bet his father would have known Mr. Kincade, being a former mayor of the city. They had lived in their home since the 1940's and their older three kids had all grown up there graduating in the sixties/seventies. Charlie was the "cocktail" of the family born in 1962. Sadly, he was killed in a bicycle/car crash on his way to work 20 years, 5 months later, when we were living together (1983). We had three good years together and it would have been a very different life had he lived. Anyway, not to bum you out, but I loved Placerville! It is a charming old Gold Rush town (now quite commercialized with antique stores, auto sales shops, and more) along Highway 49, which runs down to Coloma, CA, and back the other way to many, many old Gold Rush communites.

Thought you'd enjoy a little history! My sister-in-law has a signed painting from Kinkade and it is a winter scene, if I remember right. I saw it years ago at their home on Indian Head, Maryland, (probably not PC anymore -- wonder if that place had to change its name?) when my brother worked White House detail for the USAF.

Anyway, I was happy to feature your post at last week's Share Your Style #373 for you. I'm home with another wonderful round of Covid... (roll eye emoji). Feeling pretty good, all things considered. Hoping it doesn't really wreck havoc with me again.

Many hugs and keep warm up there!
    Barb :)
