Christmas in the Upstairs Hallway, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

 It's Election Day!!!!

Thank Goodness all those awfully ridiculous Political Ads will be over....

At least for awhile....

We all sent our ballots in, voting for the candidates we hope will steer this Country in the right direction.....

Even though all in our family do not have the same Political views, it is still very important to exercise your Right to Vote as many in other areas of the World do not possess that right....

And hopefully, we will not lose any more of our Rights here in America.....

Today, I will be continuing my Christmas Home Tour , sharing my decorations in the upstairs hallway....

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the upstairs Bathroom, which I call "The Smallest Bathroom Known to Man", for Christmas.....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

On Saturday, we got Take Home from Sonic.....

I got this off the 2 for $5 Menu.....

A grilled Cheeseburger, done like a grilled cheese, and popcorn chicken.....

Very good!!

Sunday was our church's Fall Pasta Dinner....

Homemade Fettucine, sausage, a bun, a salad and a piece of cake .....

We always get 5 dinners for the whole family....

Always so GOOD!!

As far as turning the clocks back and getting an extra hour of sleep.....

I am still waiting to get that extra hour as I have been getting up around 5:00 to 5:30am since Sunday.....

After working night shift for 37 years, I still do not understand what all the hype is about this.....

After 5 years, WWE Raw returned to our Arena last evening....

And Jim, Danielle and Joey were there, continuing a family tradition of going to all the Wrestling events held at our Arena since they were kids!!!

It was full house and they had a great time together!!

Today, I am sharing how I decorated the upstairs hallway for Christmas which I have been doing now for about 10 years........

What you see when walking up the steps....

I display my collection of Luster ware in the upstairs hall....

On shelves that I bought in Thrift Stores...

Years ago before my knee issues started, I used to do a beautiful garland with vintage looking candle lights on the stair railing......

Since I needed to hang on to the railing so I would not fall, I made a wreath to hang on the railing at the top of the stairs instead.....

At the end of the Season last year, I added some gold branches to it....

This year, I placed a doll head in the center.....

I wove a set of battery operated snowball lights through out the wreath.....

The color theme of the decorations for Christmas in the hall is white and gold....

As we walk up the steps, to the left at the top......

Back in August, I finally made this snowflake wreath out of 6 Dollar Tree white trees that I bought 2 years ago.....

I used the same gold branches as I did in the wreath I hung on the top of the stair railing....

I hung this snowflake wreath on the mirror....

 Underneath the mirror....

2 different Corner shelf units....

This is the area where I normally display most of my "peach" colored luster ware......

I replaced some of it with some Christmas items, mainly angels....

A gold tree and the addition of gold berries...

I bought a bag of paper mache angels at a church flea market several years ago for $5!!

I used them on this shelf....

Bows made from music sheet style ribbon and the candle in the lantern is wrapped with music sheet paper....

I bought the gold shimmery greenery one year at Micheal's on Clearance for 90% off...

This nativity set was bought in Target many years ago at 75% off....

Joe bought the angels that I hung on the shelf unit at a church flea market in his home town of Freeland several years ago......

Again, adding gold berries and ornaments....

More angels and another gold tree....

A Bearington Angel Bear and a Victorian Lady on each side......

 On the wall......

Angels on a vintage mantel mirror....

I made these angel ornaments last year at the end of the Season......

This shelf unit was in my neighbor Elly's bathroom and it came home with me when her sons asked us to clean out her home for them when she passed away....

More luster ware....

I added snow to Dollar Tree gold church ornaments.....

A few simple additions to make it look like Christmas!!

I framed this graphic I had and hung a guitar ornament from the frame....

On the side of the shelf unit, I hung a Home and Garden Christmas picture....

Looking toward the stairs....

My Tree in the hall is one made of white branches.....

In September, I made these angel ornaments from vintage looking angel picks that I bought at an estate sale.....

So this is my Angel Tree....

This year, I filled the vase that the branches are placed in with a gold glittered fabric I had in my stash.....

On the small pedestal.....

Another gold tree, a Victorina Lady dressed for Winter and an Angel that I made.....

Again, I used one of those Angel picks, attached it to a paper mache cones that I covered with music sheet paper.....

On the wall across from the Tree.....

My bedroom is to the right and the hallway to the craft room and bathroom is on the left

The wall across from the craft room......

I took this picture from inside the craft room....

This is the area where most of my blue transferware is displayed....

A bow and ornament hung from this mirror....

More gold on the top shelf of the wall unit.....

I bought the gold Santa at Big Lot's several years ago....

I bought this vintage shelf at Salvation Army for $10 and I freshened up the stain on it.......

The angels hung on the wall are vintage "Italy", bought at an estate sale.....

Vintage style angels....

The gold reindeer are ornaments from big Lots......

I painted Dollar Tree houses white and frosted them with snow many years ago....

Gold sled ornaments with white bottle brush trees inside of them....

The candles on the shelves come on around 6pm and stay on for 8 hours, lighting the hall.....

Gold Christmas items on this shelf....

Another Angel....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I simply added a few Christmas items along with the use of greenery, florals and ornaments to make this small area look like Christmas......

The Upstairs Hall took 1 Day to clean and decorate......

  5. Thanks for sharing all your pretty inspiration, Deb. I decorated my hallway last night...first time ever and first time ever decorating before Thanksgiving. I have to say, I think you may be on to something! Haha!! I love the way it looks and the cheer it's brought to my home. And I normally hate that time change, but for some reason, I love it this year, I'm up early ready to conquer the day!! Happy Week!!

The time change sure has messed up my doggy's schedule as we've been getting up around 4am for breakfast. Let's hope this will be the last time change! TFS and have yourself a wonderful day!
