A New Tree, Christmas in the Sitting Room , Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing my new Tree in the upstairs Sitting Room.....

In my last post, I shared some recent Buys and a few Christmas Craft and Projects that I did....

Click HERE if you missed that post!!

Thanks Charlene, over at A Pinch of Joy, for choosing my post, Minerva's New Look and Joe's Pittsburgh Trip,, as one of her features from last week's Busy Monday Link Party!!!

 Thanks so much, Charlene!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

Sunday, I made a pot of chicken bone broth soup as our low's all week will be in the 20's with high's in the low 40's....

 More seasonal weather for November....

Glad I decorated the front of my house when it was in the high 60's!!!

We went to Mass on Sunday morning and I got to wear a jacket that I was not able to button in June....

Funny how when we ran into people we have not seen in awhile and they found out that now I am retired, they asked us how Joe and I are getting along now that we are home together!!

LOL!

I guess our reputation precedes us!!!

I finished decorating the Living Room on Monday.....

Sneak Peek

I will be posting more on the Living Room in the future...

I have a new Tree in my upstairs Sitting Room.....

This is the Tree that I bought 2 years ago for the Sitting Room...

I used it this year for my Victorian Lady Tree in the Master Bedroom....

I did share the story of my new Tree in the Sitting Room in my October Rudolph Day post but here it is again if you missed that post.....

Last year, at the end of the Season, Joe bought a 6 foot flocked Tree at Big Lot's that had been on display....

He did check with me first and for about the past 5-7 years, I always wanted a flocked Tree somewhere in the house....

It was originally $115

Marked down 90% and with an additional 20 % off coupon, it came down to $8.97!!!!

Now it was a floor model and when I plugged it in, half the lights did not work....

Which was just fine with me as I prefer LED warm white lights on my Trees so I ripped off all the lights...

 Now without lights.....

I added 2 sets of lights that I had last year.....

And packed it up in a Body Bag that I use to wrap my larger Trees in....

And had Joe take it down to our Storage Shed that we rent....

Joe bringing it back up to the house from our storage shed.....

We always joke that when it is time to take Trees back down to our storage shed that the neighbors may think he is disposing of my body...

I bought several of these sets of lights at Big Lot's.....

And added them to the Tree.....

Much better!!!!

I was a bit nervous how this Tree would look with my vintage Shiny Brite ornaments on it.....

I first hung solid color ornaments in bright pink, aqua, green and silver on the Tree.....

That was after hanging the beaded garland in aqua, bright pink and green on the Tree......

Then I decorated it with my Collection of Shiny Brite ornaments in pink, aqua and silver....

The vintage looking topper on the Tree was bought a few years ago in Target.....

I made the bow from several different kinds of ribbons....

I also hung bright pink icicles on the Tree....

Both my son's First Christmas Baby ornaments are also on this Tree.....

I am very happy with how it turned out....

Also in this corner...

A wash stand....

A vintage Rudolph Golden Book and 2 vintage reindeer....

I added a bright pink ornament to the chandy....

On the mirror next to the Tree.....

2 Santa heads....

The Tree skirt was bought at a church flea market a long time ago.....

I lit this Snow Village from Target with a set of fairy lights.....

On the chair next to the Tree......

An Angel bought at an Estate Sale....

My collection of vintage Christmas Golden Books along with my son's childhood Christmas books....

I hope you enjoyed seeing my new Tree in the Sitting Room.........

It took me 4 Days to decorate the Sitting Room.....

  1. Such an amazing bargain on the new flocked tree. That bargain shopper of yours always find 'tree'mendous deal. I make my own bone broth, last one used the turkey carcass from Thanksgiving, and I freeze lots of it for later use. I just took a portion out of the freezer today and will make some chicken and veggie soup tomorrow. Our first snowfall of the season is to start tonight, I'll be sharing how to make my plastic canvas snowflakes tomorrow. I bet you felt good getting into that jacket for church. Well done with the weight loss program. Have a wonderful day.

  2. Hey Debbie!
You look wonderful! And I absolutely love that beautiful jacket!
Your red transferware displayed in the hutch is lovely. The pots on the front porch filled with greenery are so festive and welcoming. That beverage corner sure turned out perfect. After seeing the cute deer mugs in an earlier post, I went straight to Big Lots for a couple!
I'm in awe of the amount of decorating you've already done.
    Blessings, Linda

  4. Your trees and decorations look so beautiful, Debbie! I am always in awe at looking thru your pictures. We were just out this past Sunday to a few Antique stores in Lancaster. I seen so much that reminded me of your Christmas decorations. You looked amazing in your red jacket for church.....I bet it felt good, too! Congrats on the weight loss! Sunday must have been the day for broth & making soup! It got pretty cold and I think soup must have been on everyone's minds! TFS and have a wonderful day! :)

  5. What lovely self-portraits! Lookin' good, Debbie. And your tree is lovely. When I was a kid I didn't like flocked trees -- my aunt had one and I thought it was silly. Now I adore them, I only have one -- but every time I see one in the store I think maybe I should add on! So far, I've been restrained!

  6. Oh my word this tree is so beautiful! I love all the colors you chose and you know that shade of pink gets me every time. No playing you could easily decorate for Hallmark movies. I love everything you do! On a side note, you look really pretty going to mass. I am super excited to see all your hard work paying off. Joe seriously needs to take you on a big date! Hugs, CoCo
