A Pink Christmas in the Dining Room,Tree and Vignettes, Part 2, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

In my last post, I shared the first half of my tour of my Dining Room.....

I showed you how I changed up the buffet a bit......
And returned the very first Nativity set that I bought 41 years ago to it's original place where it was displayed....
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Today, I will be sharing the rest of the Dining Room and a few other changes I made this year....

But first, I want to thank these hosts who featured my post, Wreath Re-Do, Dabbling and Sneak Peaks, form last week's Thursday Favorite Things Link Party!!

Thanks to Marilyn, over at Marilyn's Treats, for featuring my post!!!!

Thanks to Theresa, over at Shoestring Elegance, for choosing it as one of her features!!

And Thanks to Amber, over at Follow the Yellow Brick House, for also picking it as one of her features!!!

Thanks so much, Marilyn, Theresa and Amber!!

I also want to Thank Bev, over at Eclectic Red  Barn, for featuring my post, Christmas in the Kitchen, Vignettes, from the same link party!!

Thanks so much , Bev!!
Please stop by and link up to this great party!!

We will start where we left off in the Dining Room at the window divider between the Dining Room and Living Room.....
Above that runs a soffit where I have my collection of Guardian Angel plated displayed.....
I decided to move this sign "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"" which used to hang in the Kitchen......
 And hang it here.....
The lettering is actually a dark green....

In the one corner by the Living Room is this Tree.......
About 3 years ago, I bought a pencil Tree in Big Lot's and it was the best thing that I ever did as this Tree fits perfectly in this corner...........
I originally had a slim Tree here which is now my Living Room Tree........
The Dining Room is decorated in a pink, white and gold theme for Christmas and so is the Tree....

Hanging on the window divider between the Dining Room and the Living Room.....
An angel, ornaments and a Victorian stocking.....

In order to fit this 7 foot Tree under the soffit, I had to redo the bow that tops the Tree and make it more of a floppy styled bow.....
The bow is made from 2 different types of pink ribbons including a pink glittered one......
You can see how it just fits under the soffit.....
This Tree is decorated with mostly Victorian style ornaments.....
I used a white fluffy garland on the Tree that almost looks like sow.....
And there is glittered white baby's breath and pink floral picks tucked into the Tree.....
I have collected these ornaments over many years....
On  pedestal next to the Tree is this gold glittered Santa that I bought last year in Big Lot's.....
Some of my Victorian dolls flank the bottom of the Tree.....

I moved a Nativity scene here underneath the Tree from where I had displayed it for the last few years in the hutch in the Living Room.....
On the other side of the Tree.....
I added a bow and angel wings to the top of the wall clock.....
On a marble topped stand is one of my Old World Santa's.....
I bought him for $5.00 at a church flea market....
Looking at the Tree from the Kitchen.....
Looking toward the corner near the Kitchen.....
My Home Interiors " May I Play?" picture....
I hung pink angel wings ornaments from the sconces.....
On the shelf underneath the picture......
2 mica coated angels....
 The curio in the corner.....
On the side of the curio......
A white and gold Santa on a small shelf.....
The funeral basket that I decorate for every Holiday and Season sits on a marble topped stand.....
The basket is decorated with pink, white and gold florals a pink bow and an angels ornament....
Pink angel wings hang from the basket....
And Victorian Children ornaments along with green berries decorate the base of the basket.....
On top of the curio.....
I had an abundance of pink Santa's and angels that I passed on to my niece Renae at the end of last Season along with a white feather Tree that stood on top of this curio......
That enabled me to do something different for this year so I placed a pink angel in a vintage milk glass compote bowl to give her height and moved this gold swirl tree topping it with a pink bird over from the Living Room.......
And I then sat my Sitting Santa on this side....
I added a few ornaments and other Christmas touches to the inside of the curio.....
I hung a wreath that I made on the faux window that was once a pass through into the Kitchen....
A swag of pink roses hangs at the top of the drapes hanging on the faux window.....
On the cabinet that my Dad made for me to match the rest of the Dining Room furniture which was Joe's maternal Grandmother's.....
Since I passed on a small half table that was in this room to my daughter-in-law, I moved this vintage crystal compote bowl.......
  Filled with ornaments over here....
On each side of the compote bowl are vintage hurricane candle holders.....
On the shelf above the door way into the Kitchen.....
I just added pink ornaments....
It usually takes me 3 days to clean and decorate the Dining Room which does not include taking down and packing away the Halloween decorations which takes me one whole day....

I do not keep much on the Dining Room table as we use it daily and Joe needs the WHOLE table to read the newspaper on!!!

I have a burgundy, pink and gold poinsettia tablecloth and gold place mats on it.....

I decided to move this gold sleigh that I used to sit a Bearington Bear in from the Living Room and make it into a centerpiece for the Dining Room table that was fairly small and easily movable.........
I simply placed a gold glittered battery operated candle that I have set on a timer in the center....
Placed a small evergreen candle ring around the candle.....
And added some floral picks to it....

I usually keep it on the back place mat so Joe can have the WHOLE table but here it is in the center where it should be....
I tried to get a picture of the table but guess who was reading the newspaper on it????

You can see it in the picture below that I took on the weekend.....

Joe and I have not exchanged presents in many years because we feel that we really do not need anything and if we do, we just go out and buy it......
Since I bought my new rugs in the Living Room last Summer.........
I had my eye on a new rug for the Dining Room......

And I am so glad that I waited because Ocean State Job Lot was offered 30% off all rugs this past weekend......
This was the rug that I had my eye on for the Dining Room so it became a Christmas present to me!!!

I love the sage green color in contrast to the dark burgundy ones I had in here before......

I also bought a runner because the rug was not large enough to cover all that I wanted it to cover......

Joe sits in the chair on the left and initially I had one rug under the table which every time he moved his chair out and back in, he got all tangled up in it......
UGH!!

So I then bumped a runner up to the rug under the table and guess what?????

Yep!!!

He was still getting all tangled up in now the rug and the runner causing me to have to fix them CONSTANTLY!!!!!!!!

With this placement, he can move his chair out into the neighbor's house ( like he usually does so no one can walk through behind it) and not mess up my rug!!!!!
However the rug was off center and I wanted a rug on the other side of the table but not under the things that I have in the corners causing them to be off balance......

So I bought a runner that fit perfectly between the corner things but yet provided a rug under the chair in the back of the table which is only used for company or when our kids come to eat as Jim sits back there......
So there was a method to my madness that will cause me less work and frustration!!
And speak of the culprit!!!!!

Joe is now able to wear Christmas tee shirts at work in Wegman's .........
So he bought a new one to add to his crazy collection.......
Always the Joker!!!!!

I do want to show you something new that I just bought in K Mart today as they are closing all the stores here......
See the pink glittered cone tree behind the sled?????
There was only one left in this size and it was 30% off so I grabbed it.....
It is not often you find a pink glittered tree like that!!

In my next post, we will be moving into the Living Room and I will be sharing my large Tree.......
And Village which I made a few small changes to this year......
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  2. WOW....WOW.....AND W O W!!! Your pink Victorian is breathtaking. Truly I tell you this all the time, I can't fathom how how you can do so much. You're a marvel, truly! And then there's all the rest of decorations. Perfect in everyway. Your crocheted dollies set things off so well.

  4. Debbie, I had a few giggles reading this. Your Joe and my guy sound so much alike. My guy needs the WHOLE table too. We have an office with all his books and everything he needs to study in there but he insists on sitting at the table. He takes up the WHOLE table with his books and yes, he has to have the WHOLE table to read his newspaper too. His last year at the post office, he didn't really care any longer what was taking place in there because he knew he was leaving, when previously he had cared too much. Any way, the last year he was there, he kept telling everyone who complained about anything that he didn't care! Finally, one fellow got him a t-shirt with, "I DON'T CARE," written it. He still wears it. Your decor is a wonder! I love all the glitz and pink. It's like stepping into days of yore which is what you were going for, I know. Lovely! Thanks for your visit. Hugs...Sandi

  11. WoW WoW WoW
I have just spent over an hour reading and looking at all the photos on your various Christmas decorating posts. I don't know how you do it all - I'm exhausted just LOOKING! LOL
As every year, it's just remarkable - a true faery land of Christmas and magic and enchantment. Every person who walks in your home must be showered with pixie dust and the spirit of Christmas!
This was the post I saved for last because I knew it would knock my socks of - and it did. You are the only person who can use *that* much pink and make it superb! A faery tale princess would feel right at home in that pink and gold treasure room!
Thanks so much for sharing all your rooms! (By the way, I once had a home with a 10'x20' room, too - and it is kind of a strange shape to deal with LOL).
Please drop by Enchanted Revelries and say hello. It's so nice to reconnect at holiday time! (I just can't blog as much as I used to, sadly)
Best wishes for a marvelous Christmas to you and your family - and a dazzling new year!
