Christmas in the Sitting Room, Faux Fireplace & Mantle, Christmas Home Tour, 2017

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I have been posting my annual Christmas Home Tour, sharing each room in our townhouse decorated for Christmas...

All of these posts are on my side bar if you missed them!!

In this post, I am going to share how I decorated the rest of my Sitting Room.......

But first, I want to Thank Kathy, over at A Delightsome Life,  for featuring my post, Upstairs Bathroom, Christmas Home Tour, from last week's Home and Garden Party!!
Thanks so much , Kathy!!

Please stop by and link up to this lovely party!!!

In my previous post, I shared this 6 foot white Tree in the Sitting Room.......
 This smaller Tree......
And this vignette with vintage Plasticville pieces.......
Click HERE if you missed this post......

In this post, I will be sharing how I decorated the faux fireplace in the Sitting Room.....

I have wanted a fireplace since I was a young girl........

This is a photo of me when I was 9 years old with the first tree that I decorated by myself and you can see that I made a fireplace out of my toy chest!!!
Don't you just love how my sister teased my hair???? LOL!!!!!

I turned this piece of furniture.......
Into my faux fireplace in the Sitting Room.....
And this is what it looks like all decorated for Christmas......
The color theme of the Sitting Room is yellow, blue, green and bright pink.......
I have decorated the room for Christmas using those same colors......
I hung some bright pink snowflakes on the metal branches on each side of the mirror............

In the center of the"mantle", is another Tree........
This is Tree #8
I like the way the Tree is reflected in the mirror.......
This Tree is topped off with a vintage glass topper......
Also at the top of the Tree is a bow made of multi color ribbons......
The color of the ornaments on this Tree match the colors on the larger Tree........
Let's now take a look at the "mantle"......
I have set up a Snow Village on the "mantle"........

We'll start on the left side.......
I used a cake plate for some elevation......
A few bottle brush trees, an aqua church and a snow man.......
I bought this blue church along with a silver one and 2 pink ones several years ago in Target on Clearance for $5.00......
More snow men........
Some vintage putz houses.....
More snow men....
On the right side......
The silver church......
On another cake plate......

I used a strand of battery operated star lights through out the display......
I decorated a white garland with different colored ornaments......
Some vintage Shiny Brite ornaments......
A bow graces the center of the garland......
I decorated the "hearth" area of the fireplace a bit differently this year......
Large white and bright pink candy canes and ornaments also hang on each side of the garland.......
An angel sits on this side too.......
Inside the "hearth" is a large lantern that was going to be thrown away by an owner of one of the townhouses in our development after his renter moved and left it.......
Joe asked if he could have it and it became mine!!
2 LED lit branch trees sit on each side of the large lantern.....
A Santa head, bottle brush trees and a putz house rests on top of the lantern.....
Inside the lantern is a white box with a house on the lid......
A string of battery operated lights illuminate the inside of the lantern..........
Churches, snowmen, angels and bottle brush trees are around the base of the branch trees....
Mr. and Mrs. Bear and the family dog are having Tea in front of the "hearth"......
A sled with a bright pink garland bow sits on this side......
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated my faux fireplace for Christmas.......
Continuing along my Christmas Home Tour, I will be sharing 2 more Trees in the Master Bedroom, completing my Tour of the Upstairs for Christmas........
Click HERE to see Christmas in the Master Bedroom.....

I hope you will come by and visit  again!!

And thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  8. Debbie, you did a fantastic job of turning that piece of furniture into a faux fireplace. And a beautiful job in decorating it. I especially love the blue and silver churches. I can't believe you got them for such a great price!! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Party in Your PJ's.

  9. Debbie, I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it again, but you AMAZE me! The care you take in decorating your home is just unsurpassed. I know you love Christmas, and the love definitely shows in the way you've decorated your room. Your faux fireplace is really something--such a brilliant re-purposing of that piece of furniture! My favorite thing in the room may be the little beagle sitting in front of the fireplace. My 14-year-old beagle LOVES to sit in front of the fire, so that little touch just spoke to me!

Thank you so much for sharing your home so freely. And thanks for joining the Grace at Home party. I'm featuring you this week!
