Christmas at Nelson Crest, The Outside, Christmas Home Tour 2015

Welcome to Christmas at Nelson Crest!!

First, I want to thank Jody and Stan, over at Rooted in Thyme,  for featuring my post,
Christmas in the Kitchen, Christmas Home Tour 2015, from last week's Simple and Sweet party!
Thanks so much, Jody and Stan!!

Please stop by and link up to this great party.

I had a lot of fun decorating Nelson Crest this year since I did not get to decorate the inside of my Victorian Doll House for the last 2 years.

I am going to share Nelson Crest all decked out for Christmas with you in 3 posts.......

The Outside.........

 The Downstairs......
And the Upstairs....
And 3 more decorated Trees making my final Total of 19 Trees!!

Today, I am sharing the Outside of Nelson Crest......
If you have not visited here before, my childhood dream of a Victorian Doll House came true when a wonderful man named Roy Nelson, built my Doll House for me from a kit that Joe had gifted to me for my 50th Birthday!!
Roy was over 88 years old when he built my Doll House for me.

It was one of close to 30 Doll Houses that he had built.

He passed away 2 years later of lung cancer.
I wanted to honor the man who made my childhood dream come true so I named my Doll House Nelson Crest in his honor!!

If you would like to read more about Roy Nelson and how he built my doll house, please click HERE!!
Nelson Crest is a true "Painted Lady".  I have noticed that the colors are fading a bit meaning that Nelson Crest will be in need of a touch up soon.........
That is a project that I do not want to think about right now!!
Let's start with the upstairs balcony.......
Wreaths are hung in all the windows.......
There is a decorated Tree on the balcony, Tree # 17!!!!!
A Santa head hangs from the railing......
A decorated broom is by the door and toy soldiers and a potted poinsettia rest on the railing!!
In the front yard........
On the right side of the yard........

We have a Mr. and Mrs. Snow Man
And the family dog drinking out of a Bird Bath!!
Moving toward the front is a deer......
On the right side in the front yard is a larger Snow Man......
A bench with a present on it and a pair of skates left behind by a child.......
Let's take a look at the front porch....
A large Nutcracker greets visitors at the front door......
Looks like a Delivery of milk and eggs was just made.......
A shovel stands ready by the door, awaiting the next Snow Fall.....
Topiaries and toy soldiers line the steps.....
Another pair of skates were left on the steps after a day of ice skating.......
The left side of the front yard......
Wait.........is that lights that I see in the Parlor window?????????
Maybe it is Tree # 18!!!!

Wink!! Wink!!

A sleigh, that I bought for 25 cents at a yard sale, is filled with presents from Santa!!
Around to the left side yard.....
Another snow man and a bench.....
That completes my Tour of the outside of Nelson Crest!!!
I hope you will stop by to see the inside of Nelson Crest.........
The Downstairs will be up next on the Tour!!
Click HERE to see the Downstairs!!

Followed by the Upstairs......
Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  11. I always enjoy seeing what you have done over at Nelson Crest, Debbie! Especially during holidays. She is looking spectacular. My eight year old granddaughter, Jewelynn, asked Santa for a doll house for Christmas. He brought one to her. It is a kit and I hope I will get to help her and her mama to put it together and decorate it!

  15. The memories flowed as I read your post.

When my daughter was 6, I built her a dollhouse. The dollhouse sat on a vintage front in our living room window and passersby told us they called us "The Dollhouse House". Every Christmas my daughter insisted that the dollhouse be decorated also.

The dollhouse is in our attic waiting for the day when I have a granddaughter to play with it.

    Happy New Year!

  16. What an inspirational story. It's such a beautiful house and touching that you named the house in honor of the man that built it for you. This post takes me back to my childhood when my mother and I furnished a dollhouse together. And your house showcases such nice pink for Pink Saturday too. Thanks for sharing!
