Christmas Entry, Hutch & Vintage Tree in the Living Room, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing the Entry into our Living Room including the Hutch, a vintage Tree and the hallway to the Kitchen decorated for Christmas....

In my last post, I shared my 7 foot pencil thin Tree and more vignettes in my pink Victorian Dining Room!

Click HERE if you missed that post....

And now for a few Personal Notes...

Only thing new since Tuesday is we are expected to be in the path of a 2 day storm of snow, ice and maybe rain depending on the elevations of the mountains where you live......

And it started about 9 am on Thursday morning as ice so we will see how this pans out by Saturday morning!!!

Today, I will be sharing the only entryway into our home, which is through the front door into the Living Room, my 4 foot Tree decorated with vintage Shiny Brite ornaments , the stairs and the hall way to the Kitchen....

I better explain that the gate of my back yard is on a steep slope with trees that you would kill yourself on if you tried to go in the back way of my townhouse....

We will start at the Front Door....

Even though the outside of the steel Front Door is painted black to match my black shutters,,,,,

The inside of the door has a faux wood treatment that I did about 25 years ago....

I bought the pediment, which was painted white, at a yard sale, stripped it, stained it and hung it above the door....

I hung a stocking in the red, gold and green color theme of the Living Room for Christmas along with beaded garland and red tassels that were my Mother's from the curtain rod....

A Santa head hangs on the door knob....

To the right of the door when you walk in.....

A vintage marble topped plant stand....

 The hurricane candle holder....

The vase that Joe pulled out of our dumpster, filled with Christmas florals....

An Apothecary jar filled with ornaments and topped with a bow.....

Against the wall to the left of the Front Door is Joe's Grandmother's Hutch....

To the side of the Hutch in a brass container....

We keep our keys on the vintage cigarette stand....

The Hutch is a focal point in the Living Room at Christmas....

To the left of the Hutch....

The Theme of the decorations in the Hutch is "Santa and the Christ Child" or "The Praying Santa"

When our sons were young, we always had personalized Christmas Cards printed up and one year, our Christmas Card was The "Praying Santa"

I also bought a book for the boys called "Santa and the Christ Child" from the local Catholic Guild store...

I decorated the Hutch based on these 2 things along with matching figurines and a photo frame I found...

The top of the Hutch is decorated with Gold churches and bottle brush trees.....

And 3 vintage Altar Boy Carolers that were gifted to me by my good friend Anne Marie....

I made cards from music sheet paper and vintage styled Angel ephemera and hung them on the garland above the vintage mantel mirror.......

Red and golf stars were also hung on the garland....

I estimate these Altar Boy Carolers are from the 50's...

 Inside the Hutch.....

An ornament depicting the Nativity hangs in the center of the Hutch....

A gold church is in the center of the top shelf and placed in front of it is our Christmas card depicting Santa entering a Church with his sleigh parked outside.......

 On the middle shelf.....

In the center of this shelf, I displayed the book with a figurine that I bought in a christian store in front of it....

On the bottom shelf....

I placed the framed inside of our Christmas Card in the center.....

A photo frame and a smaller figurine that I bought at yard sales are on each side of the frame.....

There are 3 sets of 2 white Angels in this hutch year round.....

They were Sam's Club Grandeur Noel Sets bought in the early 2000's.....

Hanging from the knobs of the Hutch are 2 Victorian Christmas tussie mussies I made and gold tassels with monogrammed ornaments.....

On the right side of the Hutch....

On the stairs.....

I switched out a few pictures for Christmas......

 A lighted picture....

A Christmas ceiling tile that I bought on EBay......

And a antique plate also gifted to me by my friend Anne Marie!!

Some of my Collection of Old World Santa's....

I loved this one that I bought at Target because he is dressed in green which you do not see very often....

The other 3 were bought at Sam's Club and made by Granduer Noel....

Also on the steps is a pair of Boy's vintage skates....

On the other side .......

A swag I made....

 An Angel I made....

Lanterns....

I use this vintage chair for display for the different Holidays......

Toys are displayed on the chair....

A radio flyer sled, a rocking horse, an Avon ornament decanter and a vintage Christmas card....

2 Bearington Bears, a drum and a doll that my Mother bought for me when I was about 4 years old.....

The doll is about 60 years old now....

  A large Nutcracker...

Underneath the chair are 2 lanterns and a Bear Nutcracker......

A vintage deer planter, candle and tinsel tree is inside one....

And a vintage Santa boot with a Santa head on top and a tinsel tree is inside the other....

My 2nd Tree in the Living Room....

I decorated this 4 foot Tree with some of my Collection of vintage Shiny Brite ornaments in the colors of red, green and gold....

I topped it with a red finial and a bow I made from the same ribbon as the bow on the larger Tree and on all the swags in the Living Room....

Because of the location of this Tree, I decorated the entire Tree all around.....

There is a gold/silver vintage looking tinsel garland on it also!

I will let the pictures do the talking.....

On the marble topped urn that the Tree is set upon.....

A vintage Christmas Card of a Post Office that was my neighbor Elly's....

Above the Curio in the corner is a swag I made, a Santa Head and a Santa plate on the wall........

I added some ornaments and florals to "Christmas Up" the inside of the Curio a bit....

A gold Angel to the side....

I also want to share the downstairs hallway to the Kitchen and  Powder Room....

Which is very narrow.....

And that makes it hard to take pictures....

I decided to clip vintage Christmas cards to the swag above the coat closet doors.....

Using white sparkly clothes pins I found in my stash....

On the mirror between the coat closet and Powder Room door....

2 wreaths that I made.....

And 2 Dollar Tree signs....

This wreath has a plastic vintage poinsettia in the center of it.....

And I also clipped to vintage cards to it.....

 Over on the other side....

I hung a swag I made above our wedding picture on my Gallery wall.....

I hope you enjoyed seeing this area of my Living Room all decked out for Christmas....

It took me 6 days to decorate the Living Room....

  1. Hi Deb: Your beautiful home must just be gorgeous at night with all the sparkly lights. That's when it seems like Christmas, don't you think? I love the lighted picture of the red house and it reminds me that I have one too that I forgot to put out this Christmas now there is no room for it. Your gallery wall is just spectacular. I don't believe I have seen it before..Have a very Merry Christmas with the family, my friend..xxoJudy

  2. We are getting the same storm system, started Thursday afternoon and this morning we got up to about 20 cm. of wet and heavy snow. Thank goodness for snow blowers. I really like your pencil tree, if and when we need to replace the main tree I will get one of those. Have a good week, stay warm and cozy during the storm.

  3. I feel like I could stand and stare at your Christmas hutch for hours, just to see all the fascinating little details and take in all the colors and figures. Thank you for sharing this post in the Talent-Sharing Tuesdays Link-Up 46.
