"Hearth and Vignettes", Christmas in the Sitting Room, Christmas Home Tour, 2022

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back a lot of treasured memories.....

I am now posting 3 times a week !!!

I will be posting on TUESDAY, THURSDAY and SATURDAY

As always, click on each picture if you would like to enlarge it....

Today, I will be sharing the remainder of the upstairs Sitting Room decorated for Christmas including the "hearth" area of my faux fireplace and a few vignettes....

In my last post, I shared how I decorated the "mantel" of my faux Fireplace....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

Thanks Dee, over at Grammy's Grid, for choosing my post, Christmas in the Upstairs Hallway, as one of her features from the last Unlimited Link party!!

 Thanks so much, Dee!!

Please stop by and link up to this great party!!

And now for a few Personal Notes...

 Food of the Week

Primo's Hoagies opened up in the shopping center right down the road from us and they mailed out their rather extensive menu which caught Joey's eye.....

Joey got, wait for it, a 24 inch long Pizza Cheesesteak hoagie!! LMAO! He did give me about 3 inches of it to try but YES, he ate the whole thing!!!!

Joe got the same BUT a 9 inch one!!

I got an Audi...Roasted turkey, roast beef and American cheese with mayo and tomato and I threw it in the microwave for a few seconds to heat it up a bit which is what I do with every cold hoagie.....

VERY GOOD!!

Joey joined their Rewards Program and we will definitely be going back.

It is located in part of the former Pier One store in the Arena Hub which is on the side of our townhouse development....

I finished decorating the Living Room and decorated the 7 foot slim tree and did the village underneath it.....

I also finished decorating the Dining Room....

 Except for the Tree.....

And of course, I will be doing posts on these rooms in the future.....

So far I shared my new flocked Tree in the Sitting Room......

That then led to adding flocked garland to the white garland that i used for years on the "mantel"....

And other changes on the "mantel" which I shared in my previous post....

Now let's take a look at how I decorated the "heath" area of the faux fireplace....

Both my sons' Cabbage Patch Dolls sit on each side.....

I painted the inside of the "hearth" black.....

And placed a large Home Interiors mirror against the back wall.....

The large white lantern inside was left behind by renters who moved out and the owner of the house in our row of townhouses, asked if I wanted it!!!

Silly question!!

 On top of the lantern.....

This year, I placed a crocheted Tree that I embellished and a few ornaments inside the lantern and lit it with a strand of fairy lights....

On each side of the lantern are white battery operated branch trees that I bought many years ago in Kohl's....

And of course, Mr. and Mrs. Teddy Bear are enjoying a Christmas Tea by the fire with their pup....

And that is what my faux fireplace looks like this year....

Minerva is standing to the side of the fireplace....

You may remember in a post on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog, where I shared how I decided to dress Minerva up for the Holidays as if she was attending a Christmas Ball.....

I dressed her in my neighbor Elly's wedding gown....

Joe bought this Christmas Tree Skirt in Big Lot's at 90% off last year ( a little over $2!) and I thought it looked like the perfect cape for Minerva to wear to her Christmas Ball!!

I hung it so she will be able to throw it on when she is leaving for the Ball.....

If you missed this post I did on Minerva, please click HERE!!

To the left of the door is this corner where my new Tree that I shared in my previous post is located........

Because I went from a tabletop Tree to a 6 foot Tree along with changes I made to the "mantel" area of the Fireplace, I then needed to also change a few others things....

Since I shared this corner where the Tree is, I changed what is now on the shelf of the Window mirror....

I took away one Santa head and added the small pitcher with a flocked tree inside of it...

Moved the Santa head over here.....

On the tea cup shelf to the side of the Tree....

I added more small flocked trees by placing them inside my Rosie B tea set....

Tying in with the new flocked Tree.....

This shelf is actually 2 tables stacked on top of each other.....

Since I had a few extra houses this year that I did not use in other areas, I decided to create a "Village" on these shelves....

My son, Joey, gave me this TV when he bought another one and since I did not want cable in this room, he bought me a $10 antenna and I now am able to pick up 26 channels on this TV.....

i bought this angel at an estate sale many years ago and she lives here year round!!

Ornaments, vintage putz houses and vintage mini ornaments....

Top shelf....

2 of 4 houses I bought many years ago at Ollies are in the back.....

Some of the houses are actually ornaments that I highlighted with pink glitter.....

And vintage putz houses.......

The middlle shelf.....

2 more houses from Ollies on this shelf.....

And more putz houses.....

And on the bottom shelf are my vintage Plasticville pieces.....

The church and the house I bought at an Estate sale.....

The blue cottage was my parent's and was under my childhood Tree on the platform that my Dad built.....

The chalk figures were my Mother's as a child so I figure they are close to 100 years old as she would have been 103 this year.....

The red barn and the farm animals were also my parent's and I used to play with them before they went under the Tree.....

Next to this shelf are 2 bookcases.....

On top of the bookcase that my Dad built when I was a child.....

You can see the antenna for the TV.....

Joe bought the larger vintage style house with battery operated lit trees in Bed, Bath and Beyond one year after Christmas.....

And I bought the small one in Hobby Lobby last year....

The trucks were my sons.....

A small white Tree decorated with the same color ornaments as the other 2 Trees in this room.....

On top of the other bookcase....

This is where I keep the mini tree I made in July.....

Click HERE if you missed that post....

On the shelves....

This little Sweet Village was bought at Dollar Tree a few years back.....

On the shelf below.....

And that completes my tour of the Sitting Room and the entire upstairs for that matter....

It took me 4 Days to decorate the Sitting Room

Tree Count

Tree # 10

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I changed things around to go with the new flocked Tree and because of the new flocked Tree!!!

On TUESDAY, I will be sharing the front porch and how I decorated the outside this year.....

There are quite a few changes out side this year so I hope you will stop by to visit again on TUESDAY as I continue my Christmas Home Tour!!!!

  1. Love all your little houses, especially the ones under the tree. I have a really large collection of houses, in fact stopped adding more over the last few years as I didn't know where to display them. We had lots of snow in the last couple of days. Winter weather is here to stay.
