After Christmas Buys, Belated January Rudolph Day, 2022

 Welcome to Debbie-Dabble Blog!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by!!

Happy Rudolph Day!!

Rudolph Day is celebrated the 25th of each month......

Yes, I know it is the 27th so I am a bit late with this post....

Truth be told, I really had no intention of doing this post until today....

That was when Joe came home for the second time from Big Lot's with After Christmas Clearance Buys at 90 % off!!

That is right, 90 % off!!

Before I go any further, I do want to mention that I have been seeing posts on Face Book showing Micheal's stores stocked with tons of Christmas merchandise as it is just coming in now after being tied up in the supply chain debacle....

It is being sold at 75 % off.....

Just wanted you to know in case you want to check your local Michael's stores.....

Now I did a post on my One Little Word, A Theme and a Goal for 2022.....

Click HERE if you missed it....

In that post, I shared that one of my Goals for 2022 was to BUY NOTHING!!

I did say that if I saw something that was different and unique or a real good bargain that I would make an exception....

These are those exceptions that I made.....

Joe picked up these darling candle holders at Bed, Bath and Beyond before New Year's at 50 % off so they were $2.50!!

I thought that had a vintage look to them.....

And now for the things that I had Joe buy at Big Lot's for 90 % off....

Apparently they also got some Christmas merchandise in that was caught up in the Supply Chain but they were selling it at 90% off!!!!

And to make it an even better deal, Joe had a 20% off coupon....

When you are a crafter, you can always use pine cones and these 9 bags of pine cones were originally $5 each....

I plan on making new wreaths to hang on the windows next year for Christmas so I will use these larger pine cones for that....

All of these pines cones came down to a mere 42 cents per bag.....

These smaller bags will be used for crafting and 2 will be passed on to my friend, Anne Marie....

With the additional 20 % off, all 9 bags came out to a total of $3.60!!!

Less than what one bag originally cost.....

$18 for the Broyhill Star originally...

90% off took it down to $1.80 and with the additional 20 % off- $1.44!

I loved the stained glass look of it....

These 2 trees were $12.00 each...

90% off- $1.20 and with an additional 20% off.......96 cents each!!

I love the marble bases.....

These green velvet like covered Ttees were originally $20 each!!

90% off - $2.00 each

 20 % off  - $1.60 each!!!!

I was thinking of adding textured snow maybe to the tips or glitter....

And this gorgeous Tree Skirt was originally $45!!

When I saw this online after Joe told me that they had it in the store, all I could think of was that this would be the perfect cape for Minerva.....

Who is Minerva you ask?

Minerva is the Dress Form in the upstairs Sitting Room.....

I had been looking to dress her in winter attire next year and I think this will work well, don't you????

90% off took it down to $4.50 and with the additional 20% off, it was only $3.60!!!!!

So that was Joe's haul for Wednesday....

He went back down today, Thursday, to see if anything else was put out and I had also just received another coupon for 22% off for Reward members only that could be used as many times as you wanted until midnight on Sunday.....

He found this.....

 $80 originally......

They are battery operated.....

I already found a place for it.....

Perfect for my Thomas Kinkade Winter Village in the Den.....

90% off took it down to $8.00 and with a Rewards Members only coupon for 22% off...

The final price was $6.24!!!!

He also bought this beautiful blue velvet like Tree Skirt

 It was originally $26....

90% off  took it down to $2.60 and 22% more off ...down to $2.03!!!!!

Next he mentioned that there was a 6 foot flocked Tree that was on display which was originally $115 for $11.50!!!

I told him to grab it and I would figure out what to do with it by next Christmas.....

There was no box so he brought it home in 2 pieces and when plugged in, the lights did not all work which is not an issue for me as I do not care for Pre Lit Trees and always add more lights to them and cut off the lights that they came with once they stop working.....

Before I go any further...

The 22 % additional discount took this Tree down to a mere $8.97!!!!!

Under $10 for a Tree that cost $115!!!

Now tell me, how could I possibly resist that???????

So I spent the afternoon cutting off the lights that it came with.....

And then I started to fluff it and shape it.....

Boy, it sure is a beauty, isn't it?

I found that I had a set of 50 and a set of 150 lights so I put those on the Tree....

I will be adding another 300 to 400 more lights in the Fall when it is time to set it up in the upstairs Sitting room which is where I decided to put it.....

Even with only this many lights on it, it sure does look pretty!!!!

I put it in a Body Bag....

Yes....that is a real body bag and it works great for storing Trees....

Joe will take it down to our Storage Shed tomorrow....

So even though I was supposed to Buy Nothing, I think these were all great exceptions to that Goal......

I will be doing a post on Sunday over on my regular Blog, Debbie-Dabble Blog, so please check there for a new post....

  1. This makes me want to run to Michaels and Big Lots, Deb! I love everything you found and I appreciate you sharing these big sales events too. It's such a great time to buy holiday items. Especially, if you're trying a new theme next year. I can't wait to see what all they have at our stores too. Hope you have the best weekend, CoCo

  2. Wow, what a haul Joe got! I love that new tree, and really everything that he found. I wouldn't have thought of the Christmas stuff caught in the supply chain as being marked down when it does come in, but I guess it makes sense. Loved seeing your great buys!

  3. You really scored some terrific deals! I love Big Lots. Unfortunately our local store is a smaller one and our community feels the same way. It is really hard to find these deals. By the time it gets to 75%, we are reduced to a shelf with random placemats. And - because we have such high covid numbers and no one wears masks (hmm, related?) I have been sticking to online shopping. If and when this ever ends, I shudder to think of the sale shopping I will do!

Many years ago I scored what was my favorite Christmas tree of all time at Big Lots. I was leaving town and they had an 8' tree on clearance for 75% off. I couldn't put it in my car (and I was on my way out of town) so I left a message for my husband to stop on his way home from work in his truck and crossed my fingers that one of the three remained. Well he called to say he couldn't get on at 75%, because by the time he stopped -you guessed it - they were 90% off! Now if it were me, I would have bought two, LOL. You are lucky to have Joe as your personal shopper.

  5. Wow, you got some amazing deals! I can't believe that you got a $115 for under $10. That's amazing. I need to go out shopping lol. I think Minerva will look amazing with her new cape! Thanks for sharing on Crafty Creators!
