Angels in the Upstairs Hall , Christmas Home Tour 2020

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!

I am so happy you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog!!

I want to mention that since Blogger changed to a new format for posting, if you can click on each picture if you care to enlarge it......

Every room in our townhouse has a different Christmas Theme and Color Scheme!!

I prove that you do not have to live in a large home to have several Trees, over 20, in all shapes and sizes!!

The majority of my Christmas decorations are placed in the same room every year and I know that this is not what most Decorator's care for but to me, it like seeing old friends again when I decorate each year for Christmas as many of my decorations were gifts from family and friends...........

I do try to add a few new things and change up things a bit but for the most part, these decorations are part of my Christmas Traditions and bring back so many treasured memories.....

Today, I am starting my Christmas Home Tour......

Yearly, I decorate the upstairs of our home in October while the downstairs is decorated for Fall and Halloween.....

It takes me anywhere from 26 -30 days to clean and decorate our townhouse for Christmas so I NEED to start early!!!

In my last post, I started the Holiday Season here on my Christmas Blog with my post, New Buys for Christmas and Beyond , sharing what I recently bought for this Holiday season and for other Holidays as well!!

Click HERE if you missed this post....

Let's start the Tour with the Upstairs Hall!!

As you walk up the stairs......

Years ago, I used to wrap garland and lights around the railing but as my knee deteriorated , along with back pain, I need to hang on to that railing so last year, I made this wreath to hang on the railing at the top of the stairs......

This year, I added a string of what I call snow ball lights to illuminate it......

Normally, I display my Collection of Vintage Japanese Lusterware in the hall upstairs.....

So I decided to decorate for Christmas incorporating my lusterware and the subtle colors of it.....

The decorations are mostly white and gold.....

Over the years, making it easier on myself, I keep a lot of the things up year round.....

An ornament hangs from this brass sconce.......

On my 2-3 Year To Do List since I retired, is the project of stripping the wall paper border off the walls and painting the hall peach to match the wall which carried that color up from the Living Room, along with painted all the molding and door frames a white semi gloss to make it easier to clean......

Several years ago, I found this aqua like gold and silver tipped greenery on Clearance in Michael's for 90% off and I thought it would be perfect to use here in the hall......

I leave it up year round along with the gold bows but added the angel to the mirror.....

I simple added the gold tipped white velvet poinsettia and rose to this arrangement.......

In the corner are 2 vintage corner shelves......

I bought several gold glittered Trees on Clearance one year and Joe bought a pack of gold glittered Butterfly ornaments last year that I put out this Summer and I decided to just leave them up for Christmas.....

This year since I decorated with more Angels, I cut pieces of music sheet paper and wrapped it around the battery operated candles that light up the hall in the evening.....

All the Angels displayed have been bought at church Flea Markets......

I bought the Nativity many years ago in Target........

I have used gold berries and ornaments and branches of greenery to also decorate the shelves.....

A Bearington Bear Angel........

An Angel hanging on an antique Mantel Mirror.....

An Antique picture bought at an estate sale......

More gold berries, ornaments and greenery.....

An Angel picture.......

Below the picture is a collage of antique postcards of the area in which we live and Atlantic City, NJ, which we used to travel to frequently....

A gold velvet Stocking that I embellished and a tussie mussie that I made.....

Looking toward the stairs......

I found these white branches in my neighbor Elly's attic when cleaning out her home for her sons........

Since they are actually from a Tree, I decorated them like a Tree with Butterfly and gold ornaments........

This Tree is lit with battery operated Fairy Lights.....

The vase in which the "Tree" is in was given to me by a neighbor......

And it sits on top of a pedestal covered with a white lace topper......

A gold tree , church and a Victorian doll head ornament on a candle.....

On the wall across by the Master Bedroom....

The other part of the hall by the 2 back bedrooms, now my craft room and sitting room.....

This area has more of my blue Lusterware......

More Angels and gold decorations......

You can see the reflection of the wreath on the Bathroom door in the mirror.......

On top of the wall shelf........

Bought the gold Santa in Big Lots......

Another candle wrapped with music sheet paper......

I bought this antique shelf in Salvation army for $10!!

This self is decorated with gold reindeer, sleds and churches.....

More battery operated candles wrapped with music sheet paper......

I painted Christmas houses bought at Dollar Tree white and coated with with mica flakes a few years back.....

A gold tree placed in a tea cup......

All the candles are set to come on around 6 pm and really cast a nice glow in the hall in the evening.....

The hall took me 1 day to clean and decorate....

I hope you enjoyed seeing how I decorated our upstairs hall this year, changing it up a little bit.....

Up next on my Christmas Home Tour will be the Master Bedroom.....

And the upstairs Bathroom.......

So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Stay safe, healthy and most of all, HAPPY!!

  5. I keep an angel tree up year round in my guest room and sometimes just go in there to reflect/meditate. They're so peaceful. (The rest of the decor waits till the day after Thanksgiving!)

  8. I am definitely looking forward to decorating this year. I add a few new things each year and sometimes get rid of a few. We have a tree in all of the boys room and the living room. I might need one for my room this year.
