Christmas at Country Folk Gifts, Part 1, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

Today, I am going to be sharing one of the most spectacular places that I know that goes all out for Christmas!!!

Country Folk Gifts in Nescopeck, Pa.

I have shared Country Folk in years past but I was unable to make it there for the past 2 years so it was definitely on my Christmas Bucket List for this year !!!!

A bit of history....

Country Folk is a 3 story barn located on a fully functioning farm that has been converted into a Home Decor and Design Center!

They shut down the last 2 weeks of October to decorate the entire place, including a Display House, for Christmas and reopen the first weekend of November.....

Yes, you read that right.....

A DISPLAY HOUSE!!!!!!
I will be sharing this in a future post!!!

This is Country Folk Gifts.......
Now I have been going to Country Folk for the last 20 years or so and this was the first time we were greeted by this......
Like I said, it is located on a fully functioning farm, nestled in a valley, surrounded by our beautiful Pa. mountains!!
But this is the first time that I saw their herd of Scottish Highland Long Haired Cattle!!!!
Right next to the parking lot no less!!!
They do have an electrified fence to keep them in the pasture......
This city girl was amazed by these magnificent animals!!!
Now Joe and I have seen cows before but never anything like this!!
The Barn has a wrap around porch where wreaths, garland and outdoor decorations are displayed.......
I will never forget when Joe and I went to their 50% off after Christmas sale about 15 years ago and while waiting for the doors to open, there were women on this porch with garland wrapped around their necks and wreaths hanging off their arms!!!!
It was hysterical!!!

In this post, I will be showing you the first and second floors......

You are greeted by this vignette when you walk in......
You can see Joe, who is always running ahead of me!!
Old World ornaments......
Military vignette...
Pet vignette......
Byer's Choice Carolers are made here in Pa. and Country Folk has one of the largest displays of them....
The side room.....
And there is Joe again!!!
Do you see those bells hanging above the table??????
Mirror on the wall and a cabinet with mirror doors......
And Joe insisted on a picture of me.....
You can see how thrilled I am to have my picture taken.....
And then you go through a door way and step down into what I call the fireplace room!!!!!
I will let the pictures do the talking....
Can I tell you how many times I told Joe to get out of the way???????
What you see when you are at the top of the stairs to the second floor.....
Love the ceiling above this Coastal themed vignette....
Farmhouse style, which I did expect to see more of so maybe Farmhouse is finally on it's way out even though it just became big here in NEPA over the last 2 years or so..........
I came home with 2 of those bells......
A children's area.....
And this is where we will leave off for today.......
In upcoming posts, I will be sharing the third floor.........
 And the display house.....

And I also will be sharing my good friend Anne Marie's beautiful home decorated for Christmas,,,,,

And I also will be sharing on New Year's Eve, my review of last year and how my One Little Word for 2019, FOCUS, became my mantra, focusing on just getting through to the end of the year!!!

That post will be on my regular blog and I will provide a link to that post here.....

On a personal note.....

As I mentioned in my last post, The Holiday Season is far from over for us and I will not be taking my Christmas decorations until after New Year's.....

This past weekend, we went to a Wilkes Barre Scranton Penguins game and treated our nieces....

We had a great time....

Joe and his Hockey Buddy, our great niece Cortney.....
Our Pens were playing the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the team that the girls are big fans of as was their late Dad......

A little opposing team rivalry went on!!
LOL!!

Joe sporting his Pens socks and Cort sporting her socks in the Phantoms orange color!!
Carly, Renae, Caitin, me and Cortney.....
 Carly , Renae and Cait......
The Pens won much to the girls dismay......

Today we are celebrating our son Joe's 38th Birthday.......
Quietly at home with pizza, just how we like it!!

I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!

Thanks to those who took the time out of their busy day to spend a little bit of time with me!!

  1. Thanks for the beautiful tour Debbie. I have always wanted to see more of that area of the country. I'm hoping the Farmhouse look isn't a trend that's past. I love it. Hoping to get settled again in 2020 and then finally be able to decorate for Christmas again in 2020. The last two years I've skipped decorating the house due to loss of family, but hoping I'll be able to do so next December...or September as I may just start very early!

  3. Oh my Debbie this has your name written all over it. I bet you just loved every inch of this store. I cannot believe it only took them 2 weeks to set up all these displays. My fave is the tall silver angel with the white lights. I would love that. Love seeing pics of your sweet family too. I think I fixed my issue with not being able to get on your blog. It let me in this morning Yay!
    Hugs,
    Kris

  5. Debbie, thank you for taking us on the tour. What an amazing shop. I, of course, like the fireplace room with all the table settings. And the beautiful cattle! MacKenzie-Childs has this breed of cattle on their property. Beautiful animals!
Happy New Year to you and Joe!

You may not be thrilled to have your picture taken, but it makes me smile to see you out and about after having your surgery last year. I hope you have a wonderful 2020. Thanks for sharing at TFT!
