"Sweet" Christmas Kitchen, Christmas Home Tour, 2017

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!

I have been posting my annual Christmas Home Tour, sharing each room in our townhouse decorated for Christmas...

All of these posts are on my side bar if you missed them!!

Today, I will be sharing my "Sweet" Christmas Kitchen......

But first, I want to Thank Florence, over at Vintage Southern Picks, for featuring my post, A Victorian Style Christmas Tree and Village, from last week's Sweet Inspiration Link Party!!

Thanks so much, Florence!!

Please stop by and link up to this great party!!

For years, I have decorated our kitchen in a Candy and Gingerbread theme for Christmas and this year is no different.

Since the Kitchen is painted red,  I love decorating it for Christmas...

I have added a few new things this year though.......

Let's start at what I always call the focal wall of the Kitchen......
I do have to tell you that once I decorate a room, I take photos but as I continued to decorate the house, I made changes here and there so I had to take a few more photos to show those changes.......

I love to decorate this wall for every Holiday and Season.......
Let's take a look at the left side.......
I do have many Vintage and Vintage looking Kitchen items in my Kitchen......

There are 2 shelves that my Dad made out of scrap lumber on each side of this wall that I added a few Christmas things too.....
Notice my new vintage glass jar on top of the scale.....

Below the shelf hangs a new antique looking phone.....
This came from my dear neighbor Elly's house which we watch and take care of because she is in a Nursing Home due to Alzheimer's...

Her sons both live away and have told us to take what we want from the house .....
This was a working phone.....I moved the smaller antique looking phone that I had here out into the Den......

You can see silver bells hanging on the side of the hutch.....
After I first took the photos of the Kitchen, I found these cute socks that were too tight on me and thought they would look perfect in the Kitchen so I tacked them up by the Tree!!
You can see that they match the bow on the Tree....
Next to the Tree is another new item!!
I found this "Sweet Shop" cutting board at Gabes this year for $4.99!!!
I though it was perfect for my kitchen, don't you????

And this is my Christmas Kitchen Tree........
Tree # 17..........
This year, I placed this Tree which is one of those trees in an urn, into a crock that I had in the Kitchen......
Why I did not do this other years is beyond me!!!
You can see that even though my Kitchen is small, this type of Tree fits perfectly here......
The Tree is topped with a bow made of red and white ribbon with candy and red berry picks tucked  into the top of the Tree........
I have 2 sets of different candy lights on the Tree......
The Tree is decorated with Candy, Kitchen and Gingerbread ornaments......
At the base of the Tree, is a Bear dressed in an outfit with red and white accents and a set of  boy's vintage skates.......
The hutch that I made by marrying a desk and a bedroom hutch together sits in the center of this wall.......
You can see that I have decorated it for Christmas.....
On the top of the hutch, are 2 "Kitchen" Santa's.....
A bow that matches the one on top of the Tree, hangs from the top of the hutch, along with a large candy cane.......
The first shelf.......
A candy cookie jar, a gingerbread house and Christmas cupcakes.......
A vintage glass jar filled with vintage cookie cutters........

The bottom shelf.......
More Gingerbread items......
A small "Cooking" Santa and another Christmas cookie jar......
The desk area of the hutch......
I like to decorate this area like a Candy Bar......
Apothecary jars filled with different kinds on Christmas candy.......
And some faux Christmas cookies........
The plaid place mat was bought on Clearance last year........
I love this Santa's Sweet Shop tin sign.......
A lollipop ornament......
A Gingerbread man sitting on another candy jar......
I even decorated underneath the desk area......
On top of a vintage picnic basket........
Some red enamelware, a Gingerbread ornament and a Christmas tin......
On the right side of the hutch.....
The other shelf that my Dad made from scrap lumber close to 40 years ago......
Joe picked up the Merry Christmas sign at Bed, Bath and Beyond last year , also on Clearance.....
A peppermint candy wreath that I bought at a local Craft Fair a few years ago.......
I painted an old cutting board with chalkboard paint and this is my feeble attempt at some Christmas chalkboard art!!!

Above the doorway to the Den......
The plate on the shelf depicts a Victorian Mother , baking cookies with her children.......
Candy garland hangs from the shelf.......

Moving around the Kitchen......
On the side of the stove......
I decided to add a bit of the "Farm House" style that is so popular this year in the form of a few towels......
A vintage enemalware pot filled with some faux apples.......
A few Christmas floral picks tucked in among that apples.....
New plaid potholders, also bought last year on Clearance!!
"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year"!!!
New plaid dish towels......
With a Christmas cupcake towel!!
Next to the stove......
The pass through to the Den , where the Kitchen window used to be when the Den was a patio off the back of our townhouse.......
A Swag decorated with Candy ornaments, candy canes and vintage copper cookie cutters hangs about the area where the window was.........
Garland hung inside the old window frame is decorated with candy ornaments and candy lights......
The chandy is decked out with greenery and candy canes in the cups......
And new this year hanging from the chandy , are red beads that were bought at Wegman's last year and this year......
Candy ornaments from Dollar tree also hang from the chandy!!
 The left side......
Christmas Kitchen ornaments hang on the side of the cabinets.....
The right side.......
On the window sill......
A ceramic Kitchen Santa....
Vintage looking Santa mugs......
Sitting on a stand that I made from a Dollar Tree candlestick and plate, is a lighted Ginger Bread house bought at J.C. Penney's last year!!
Over on the right side is a pretty lady head vase that was gifted to me a long time ago!!
Joe does not mind doing the dishes when he gets to look at this!!
Yes, I have a dishwasher....his name is Joe!!

Again, farmhouse style towels bought last year and a Christmas mat.....
In the corner of the counter, I kept the wire cup that is finds it's home here all the time and just added a few Christmas floral picks and candy ornaments to it!!
The refrigerator and the rest of my small counter space in the Kitchen......
A chalkboard sign and pot holders with candy ornaments .......
My Winter Beverage Station!!
A vintage child's back board from my neighbor Elly's house....
Our Christmas coffee mugs....
Lenox bowls that were gifted to me hold my artificial sweeteners and tea things.......
Sugar is actually in the snow man tea pot........

 Over by the refrigerator.....
A Gingerbread Man and Lady flank a vintage Hot Cocoa container on top of a shelf..........
Tea bags and flavored coffee packages.........

On top of the refrigerator........
Gingerbread houses........
Nutcrackers.........
A Candy Lane house that I bought a long time ago.....
A red and white charger provides a great background!
On the bottom half of the refrigerator are felt magnets that I made as a child , using patterns from a coloring book as a template!!
Above the counter bar.......
Last year, I decided to hang the garland here a bit differently from other years......
Candy ornaments and Gingerbread people are hung from the garland.....
A bow, made from ribbon with candy canes on it , hangs in the center of the garland.....
Looking at the counter bar from the Den......
Where the pass through to the Dining Room used to be.........
On each side on red mercury glass candle holders, are red and white trees that remind me of candy......
On the counter bar is a plaid rug that I bought last year.....
On the side of the counter bar......
A Vintage style  tin depicting a child using a rolling pin, baking Christmas cookies......
I thought it was only fitting that I hang it above my rolling pin collection.....
A Gingerbread Man stocking also hangs there......
I hope you enjoyed my Tour of our kitchen decorated for Christmas this year......

Continuing along my Christmas Home Tour, I will be sharing the last room of the house, decorated for Christmas.....

The Den.......
And how I recovered from the shock of this!!!!
It is back to looking like this!!

  1. So festive and the kitchen with the decorations are so cheerful. Terrible that tree fell like that and I know it's upsetting, everything gets to be a tangled mess, but you got it up and running again. Happy Christmas Wishes - Betsy
