I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.
The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me.
I will not shut out the lessons that they teach!

Christmas in the Kitchen, Vignettes, 2019

Welcome to my Christmas Blog, A Debbie-Dabble Christmas!!
I am so happy that you decided to stop by my Christmas Blog....

In my last post, I shared the Tree and Hutch in my Kitchen all decked out in a Candy and Gingerbread theme for Christmas.....
Click HERE if you missed that post.....

Today, I will be sharing the rest of the Kitchen decorated for Christmas....

This room took me 4 days to decorate this year....

That was one day of taking down and packing away the Fall/Halloween decorations and cleaning the Kitchen......

It took so long to decorate because I did pass some things on to family last year and bought a few new things which lead me to rearrange a lot of things, changing up where I have usually displayed things for years.....

Now that I am retired, I have the time to do so and loved it....

And it is the room in which I made the decision to be true to myself and not try to incorporate what is the "New Style" for this Christmas....

So I returned to my roots, so to speak, and decorated the Kitchen in a Candy and Gingerbread theme like I originally did so many years before......

We will start where I left off in my last post.....
 At the stove......
On the side of the cabinets.....
Christmas pot holders and oven gloves.....

You may remember that I bought this cute sign on Gabes a short time ago.....
Here is where it found a home for it.....
I tucked some greenery in around the sides....
Gingerbread men ornaments hang from the door handles above the stove......
I usually have vintage pot holders hung here but I changed them out for some Kitchen Christmas ornaments.....
Bright colored Christmas dish towels hang on the stove.....
On the side of the stove......
A vintage Santa apron......
My Mother's vintage Planters Peanuts cannister filled with both vintage rolling pins and mashers.....
I tucked some Holiday greenery in among the rolling pins.....
More Christmas dish towels......
This is the working part of the Kitchen.....
You can see that I have very little counter space!!
Next to the stove......
I just love this Pillsbury Dough Boy pot holder.......I have had it for many years.....

You may remember that I just bought this cute Gingerbread Baking sign in Target....
I was going to paint it red but decided not to as it matches a vintage jadite bowl that I have used to keep my scouring pads in by the sink.....
I filled a Christmas cookie jar that I used to display in the hutch with my everyday utensils and also added a few Christmas spatulas too...
This is the area where my Kitchen window used to be before we removed it when my Dad made the patio off the back of our townhouse into the Den......
For many years, I hung garland with lights and candy ornaments here.....

This is how it looked last year.....
This year, I wanted to do something different so I made a valance out of vintage looking Christmas fabric and hung it here......
And I used the candy ornaments elsewhere......
I bought this swag many years ago in T.J. Maxx and have since added candy ornaments to it....
I made my cup and saucer chandy.....
A bow made out of candy ribbon and a "Sweet" sign decorate the top of the chandy.......
You can see that I hung candy ornaments everywhere that I could!!!

You may also remember that I bought these large cookie cutters at Gabes......
I hung them on the sides of the Kitchen cabinets.....
They stand out nicely against the white cabinets, don't they???

More candy ornaments were added to the red beaded garland that normally hangs from the chandy.....
You can see that I also hung some ornaments on the valance!
On what used to be the window sill is my second Tree in the Kitchen.......
This small Tree was one of 2 that I found in my neighbor Elly's attic when we were cleaning out her house for her sons.......

I placed it in a vintage white trimmed with red enamelware pot which was also Elly's......
Last year, I had it setting upon a pot on the side of the stove and every time I walked into the Kitchen from the Den, I knocked it over so I decided to move it here.....

I wanted to add a bit more ornaments to the mini Kitchen utensil ones that I already had so I bought these in Michael's......
They were the perfect size for this small Tree.....
I tucked a few red berry picks in at the top and used a vintage copper cookie cutter at the top and added 2 more to the Tree......
It is lit with battery operated lights....
I also bought this set this year because I liked the mugs......
I filled them with a few florals......
I moved these red and white trees here from where they normally were displayed over on the counter bar.....
The cooking Santa salt and pepper shakers were bought at J.C. Penney's several years ago.....

I am really happy with the changes that I made to this area......
Over in the corner on the counter.....
See the jadite bowl I was talking about???
It is the same color as that sign......
I placed red and white striped handled copper measuring spoons that were gifted to me on top of my every day red and green canisters.......
I placed the canisters on a black rimmed white enamelware plaque, now using it as a tray......

Here is what it looks like normally hanging behind a "Fresh Apples" sign..............
I added some Christmas greenery and candy picks to the berries in the wire tea cup and placed peppermint candy light covers from an old light set, onto the light set that is here all the time...
I hung a cute gingerbread man....
Above the cabinets on this side of the room is another sign I bought at Gabes.....
Again, I tucked some greenery behind it.....
This area of the counter by the refrigerator is where my beverage bar is.....
And this is yet another sign that I bought at Gabes......
I did enjoy myself there, didn't I?
Gingerbread ornaments again hung from the cabinet handles.....
I like the Hot Cocoa Bar sign because I can use it here all Winter.....
I dug out these red and white striped place mats that I bought quite some time ago in Dollar Tree.....
Sugar packets and creamers are available in Lenox bowls that I received as a gift from a friend......
Flavored tea bags are in a green enamelware cup.......

Thomas Kinkade and Christmas mugs....
A vintage "Merry Christmas" hot pad is placed on top of the place mat....
Over by the refrigerator......
A vintage cocoa jar.....
Packs of hot cocoa and flavored tea bags........
Joe bought these towels at Wegman's.....
I hung them on the cabinet handles for decoration.......
This year, because of moving things to other areas, I decided to set up a Gingerbread house village on top of the refrigerator......
Again, I used another one of those placemats on top of the refirgerator.....
I had previously used the smaller houses on the hutch in the Kitchen......
I bought the cute little tree with the base wrapped in white fabric with red and green polka dots on it in Target for $3.00 this Season.....
I bought the large candy tree in Michael's recently.....

The large house that I used to have on the window sill above the sink was placed on top of a vintage green mixing bowl.....
I used more of the peppermint candy light covers from an old light set for decoration....
I glued a gingerbread cookie ornament to a charger in the back......
I already had the smaller candy tree and the taller one in the background.....

I hung a gingerbread man ornament on the lamp shade.....
I bought the Gingerbread houses and people in Boscov's a few years back.....
Hanging in the door way to the Dining Room is a Christmas swag that I hung above the rolling pin that normally hangs there....
The counter bar......
On this side of the counter bar.....
I changed out a rooster spoon rest for this cute ornament.....
And I just added some holly and berries to the top of this vintage washboard, adding a bit of Christmas to it!
I hung the garland above the counter bar differently this year.....
A large peppermint candy ornament hangs from the top of a tiered copper basket.....
Candy ornaments fill the bottom basket....
This is what the garland looked like last year.....
I wanted to hang the Galley sign back over here where I had it a few years back.....
In doing so, I had to hang the garland in a straight line rather than draping it like I did before......
I still hung candy and gingerbread ornaments on it.....
On the counter bar......
I brought back out my red mercury glass candle holders.....
This year, instead of putting the red and white Trees on them that are now gracing the window sill above the sink, I placed red and white candles on them.....
I bought this cute tissue holder that will remain out for Winter from my second cousin at a craft fair....
More candles......
I used a rag rug as a runner........
Since I am usually putting everything that I take out of the microwave here on the counter, I put down another one of those place mats and added a vintage Christmas napkin on top of it and covered them with a clear cutting board/hot pad to protect them from spills...........
Another candleholder on this side.....
And a cute gingerbread tea light holder also made by my second cousin......
I plan on filling that green vintage depression glass bowl with some candy.....
I made the curtain to cover the shelves below the microwave, using the same fabric as the valance above the sink......
You can see  that I also have my Christmas/Winter rugs out too......

On the side of the counter bar.....
" Baby, It's Cold Outside"......
Have I mentioned before that I am not good at Chalkboard Art??????
And one more of those signs that I bought at Gabes and I will be leaving this one up all Winter.....

In the corner.....
A candy like tassel and ornament and I hung the lid to a Christmas tin....
A tin canister in a crock.....
And that completes my tour of the Kitchen decorated for Christmas!!

I hope you enjoying seeing the Kitchen as much as I enjoyed moving things around and decorating it a bit differently this year.....
In my next post on my Christmas Home Tour, we will be taking a look at the Winter Wonderland in the Powder Room.....
So I hope you will stop by to visit again soon!!
