I Will Honour Christmas In My Heart

I will honour Christmas in my heart,
and try to keep it all the year.
I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future.

If you missed Part 2, An Old Fashioned Christmas in the Living Room, Please click HERE

If you missed Part 3, A Pink and White Christmas in the Dining Room, Please click HERE

I may not have been able to decorate our whole house this year since I did not get the upstairs or Den decorated but I did decorate all the rooms that were recently remodeled and I went a little crazy in these rooms.
Our Kitchen is a perfect example of this.......

I turned our little Kitchen into a Candy and Gingerbread Fantasy Land!!
Since the Kitchen is painted red, it lends itself nicely to those Holidays where red is the primary color......
This is the shelf to the left of the hutch.....
A red and white striped candle and a few sprigs of greenery add a bit of Christmas to my vintage Kitchen items.....
This year, I bought a new tree for the Kitchen......
This tree was part of a set of 2 trees that I bought in Big Lot's.

I think it fits perfect here......

You can see that I added my 2 sets of Peppermint Candy Lights and then decorated it with Kitchen, Candy and Gingerbread ornaments............
This is Tree # 8......
This is a Mr. Christmas ornament that I have displayed next to the tree which lights up. The Gingerbread Men revolve around and it plays 12 different Christmas songs!!
The tree is topped off with a bow and a candy picks.....
Close ups of  the ornaments....
And on the floor by the tree is a cute little Singing Bear with Candy Accents on her dress!!
And now, the Hutch......
On top, are 2 Kitchen Santas......
This year, I decorated the 2 shelves in the Hutch with all Christmas things, packing away what normally is
displayed there......
I have Candy Cane LED Battery operated light draped on the top......
Along with another bow made from red and white ribbon and a large Candy Cane.......
Most of the Christmas items displayed on these shelves are from Yard Sales,Flea Markets or after
Christmas Clearance items.....
The nutcracker on the left side of the top shelf was bought after Christmas last year........
Some vintage Santa Salt and Pepper Shakers......
A Snowman Tea Pot......
Second Shelf.........
A vintage bowl, filled with vintage cookie cutters , sits here normally.

I  added some candy canes, greenery and candy picks to make it look Christmasy.......
Another Kitchen Santa.....
And a Tea Pot in a Christmas Cozy......
On the top of the desk part of the Hutch. is my Santa's Sweet Shop!!
This year, I filled 4 more jars ( the ones with the cork tops) that I bought at our Church Flea Market with all
kinds of Christmas Candy........
In previous years, I used some of the other jars displayed here filled with candy but I really went all out this year.....
I also added ribbon bows to the lids on the jars.....
The left side......
The majority of the candy came from Dollar Tree.....
The small cupcakes are ornaments.....
The cupcakes are actually hold candles and were bought at Kohl's several years ago.....

Gingerbread and Pie ornaments are displayed in a Green Depression Glass Christmas Candy dish......
  The right side.......

The big Lollipops are from Dollar Tree.....
The lamp has a Canning Jar base and is also filled with candy......
I did say I went a bit crazy with the rooms that I did decorate this year......
Underneath the Hutch is a Lighted Candy House in a vintage Coke Tray......
A Plaque hanging from the drawer knob.......
The candy trees were bought at Dollar Tree last year......
Looking toward the Den......
The other shelf on the right side of the Hutch....
A Welcome sign...again from Dollar Tree.....
Looking out into the Den......
The shelf on top of the door way.....
I love the Victorian scene on this plate......
In the corner by the stove.......
I just added the Candy Cane and Christmas greenery to the existing greenery that I had in this crock.......
The towels were bought in T.J. Maxx.......
We received this Coca Cola Santa Tin , filled with Popcorn, as a gift to my Department at work from one of the Home Health Agencies that we refer patient's to.

No one else wanted it so it came home with me........
And I just love that the Letter to Santa is signed by Jimmy......

My youngest son, who just turned 30 y/o, is Jimmy!!!
I love this one too.......
A Dough Boy Pot Holder.......
The Kitchen received new flooring, new counter tops and a new sink as part of our downstairs Remodel........
This is the where the Kitchen window used to be before we made the patio off the back of the house, into the Den over 30 years ago.......
I love to decorate this area for Christmas......
The Swag was bought at T.J. Maxx several years ago and I added to it....
The small red and green candy ornaments are from the Dollar Tree......
The left side.....
The larger red Candy ornaments are also from Dollar Tree.....
The right side.....
All I did was hang a piece of garland from tea cup hooks and hung all the candy ornaments and lights on it......
The chandy was black originally and I spray painted it white.....
   On the ledge.....
A Ceramic Kitchen Santa....
I bought these Santa mugs on Clearance last year and did not know where I was going to put them......
So I decided to put a LED Battery Operated Candle and a candle ring in each of them......
My Christmas Lady Head Vase.......
Moving around the Kitchen....
Another thing that I just love.....
You can see my new counter tops......
A Santa Head Vase......
Our Tea and Coffee Area......
Some of my Christmas Mugs......
The other sides.....
4 Coca Cola Santa Mugs bought at Long John Silver's many years ago............
Each has the story of how Coca Cola changed the way the World viewed  Santa, who had had a very stern face prior to this time, is on the back along with information about the original picture depicted on each mug......
A vintage Lefton Coffee Mug that I have a votive cup and candle in.....
1 Yard Sale Tea or Two Set and one after Christmas Clearance Buy.......

This is actually the lid of a tin that I have hung.......
Top of the Refrigerator........
I bought the Gingerbread Cookie Jar in a Thrift Store recently......
The Ginger Bread  Man and Lady and the Candy filled jar with the Gingerbread Topper were bought at the
Christmas Tree Shop.......
Okay, don't laugh......

I made these refrigerator magnets as a child and they were on my parent's refrigerator for many years before that have come to adorn mine!!!!!!
I traced them from a Coloring Book.....

See....
I was crafty even as a child......

Looking toward the Dining Room.......
Above the Door Way into the Dining Room.......

The pass through between the Kitchen and Dining Room where I hung Curtains to create a Fake Window......
I filled the hanging 3 Tier Basket with Candy Ornaments and Candy Canes.......
Again, I hung Candy ornaments from garland that I hung.......
 Top of the counter bar........
 Another Gingerbread House.....
Red and White Candles on top of red Mercury Glass Candlesticks......
Cookie Jars......
Tea Pot Lamp and Cooking Salt and Pepper Shakers.....
A vintage green Depression Glass Bowl filled with Copper Cookie Cutters........
On the side of the Counter Bar........
   A Ginger Bread Man Stocking......
My Mother's Planter's Peanut Can filled with Rolling Pins and I just added some Christmas Greenery to......

And a crock filled with Vintage Kitchen Utensils..........

Planter's Peanuts was founded here in Wilkes Barre, Pa.
Looking toward the Powder room and Hall Way......
And back to where we started.....
And that concludes the Tour of our Christmas Candy Kitchen!!!
Now if I can keep Joe from eating all the Candy.........

The Last Room that I will be featuring on the Tour is our Powder Room.
Please click HERE to see......

The Final Part of our Christmas Home Tour this year will feature our entire home lit at night.

I will take you through each room as it looks in the evening......

  2. Where do you find the time to do all this decorating! You MUST start in July! Brings new meaning to Christmas in July ;). Your candy kitchen is my favorite room, so far, in your house tour! I have always wanted to do a candy tree, but only have a few ornaments. You have inspired me! Now I know I need to stock up! I just saw VERY LARGE candy ornaments in Christmas Tree Shops and I'm thinking they would look good strung together as garlands. I'll have to run out to get them!

  3. I know I shouldn't have a favorite room, but I LOVE your kitchen. It's amazing. Your candy-filled kitchen is pure magic. I love that you still have your childhood refrigerator magnets too. That lady head vase is fabulous.

  14. Now, Debbie, you must come clean. You surely must have sneaked in on Mrs. Claus and taken pictures of her wonderful kitchen. What a delight it is to behold! I love the way you have used so many things in new ways. It was so smart that you had painted the backs of the shelves red because it looks just perfect with all the Christmas things in them.

The aroma of the gingerbread men baking in there right now must be driving Santa and his elves to distraction! I so enjoyed this post!

  17. Hi Debbie! I know I have seen your kitchen before, a long time ago. So when I found your blog again today, I was in heaven. Oh I could spend hours in here and never get tired. My favorites is the gingerbread men, I have a growing collection. Most of which I have bought on Ebay, since they are hard to find here in Denmark where I live. This year I haven't even been able to find candy canes :( This time I signed up as a follower, I won't miss out on anything here :) You did an amazing job and I can't wait to see more of your house.
